That's an amazing story, Willow. It sounds as though you have come to terms with your father and his effect on your life. You're right; forgiveness is one of the most difficult things to come by.

You should really consider writing for the public because you have a real talent for it. Have you ever considered that at all? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/emot-questioned.gif)

Wow what a powerful story Willow. I pray that God will give you peace about your relationship with your father. God bless.

Wow, you have such a talent for writing a story and making the reader feel what you do. Especially in that one where you said you felt like the dash...

I forgave my uncle who molested me as a child as an act of my will, but there are no feelings as yet and I did this when I was in my twenties. Perhaps things will change when my children are grown, but I dont care to see him. Part of me doesn't want to care either. As long as I'm not bitter or angry, that's enough for me right now.

This story moved me to tears, makes me thing that sometime in the future, there may be more to be done too. Thanks for sharing this.

A very moving story, Willow.

And I agree with the others, that you have a great writing talent.

Wonderful story Willow, God can enable us to conquer feelings that we know are deep within, even though we may not fully understand them.

In the book "Captivating" (Eldridge), the authors talk about when we face the choice of forgiveness, we can lean on the fact that those who have hurt us are just broken individuals like ourselves that our true enemy has used as pawns to destroy our lives and identities as children of God. It was really powerful for me once it sank in.

Praise God! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/emot-hug.gif)

I WAS VERY MOVED BY YOUR STORY, AND IT MADE ME START THINKING ABOUT BOTH MY PARENTS, WHO ARE DECEASED, AND I CAN'T HELP WONDERING IF I WAS ALWAYS THERE FOR THEM. I THINK ABOUT THEM A LOT, AND TALK TO THEM WHENEVER I FEEL UPSET ABOUT ANYTHING. I KNOW IN MY HEART THEY ARE LISTENING.
