There are times when chat makes me feel like a fraud. It is so easy to say the right things... I'll pray for you, GBU, God loves you, etc etc etc... and quote all the scripture, and (sometimes) know the answer. But sometimes being surrounded by saints makes me feel like a fraud, because I can say things / post things so easily it but not mean it, not really feel it, not really own it.

So many godly people in one room... I look at them, their walk, their purity, their knowledge of God and the bible, their deep solid relationship with God and realise... I'm not one of you! I'm having trouble coming into chat today, and it's got nothing to do with software / network / internet issues.

You and many others (including myself) don't beat yourself up about it.

*Hugs andy.

A fraud, huh? Aren't we all? Think about it. None of us deserves what we have. We haven't earned God's favor. Yet we have it. How can I or anyone else claim to be anything but a fraud? None of us are worthy. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) (pun intended lol)

You're not the only one who feels that way, sis. I know I do quite often, and I'm quite sure I can speak on behalf of the rest of the admins in saying that we all feel unqualified from time to time. I've never gotten to know anyone in any ministry of any sort that didn't feel the same way; at least not once in a while. There are times where we feel close to God and empowered in some way that we can feel like we really do have some sort of wisdom and understanding to pass on to others, but there are times when we don't.

The simplest thing I can offer to help is this - remember that God is awesomely talented in the field of taking our pathetic attempts at life and turning them into the finest gold. In my time as an admin, and even before that, I've come into so many situations where I feel desperately out of my league. I have no other choice but to rely on prayer, my fellow admins and chatters, and my Bible to find answers to problems that are so far removed from my little world that I couldn't even begin to describe it.

p.s. Why is it that I can find to emotes for vomiting and none for hugging? lol

hi andy,

we are all unworthy, and no amount of scripture quoting will change that. it's a good thing that people here are able to share their knowledge of scriptures and share bible verses when they see it fit.

but it is not for you or any of us to say if one is pure, or their walk is solid, or their relationship with God is deep. only God truly knows that, for only God can see the heart.

i am not saying in any way that they aren't, but again, that only God knows for certain.

so don't feel so bad. what is more important is your personal relationship with the Lord, because in the end, you will be accountable only to Him.

be blessed....south

When I feel like something is wrong in me, it is the Holy Spirit telling me something about myself that He would like to change. We are all the same, sinners before God who have been saved by a loving Christ. We all have out areas where we need work. And that is OK. If we were perfect, well, we never will be perfect here.

Don't be so hard on yourself. We all need His grace. Remember, He is the Potter and we are the clay. He is forming us into a vessel fit for the Kings use.

It's Not The Goodness Of The Saints
That Fires Our Hope

We've all become unclean, and all our righteous acts are like permanently stained rags. All of us shrivel like leaves, and our sins carry us away like the wind.
Isaiah 64:6 (GOD'S WORDŽ Translation)

It's The Death And Resurrection Of Jesus Christ
That Assures Us Of God's Love

And they may have righteousness put to their credit, freely, by his grace, through the salvation which is in Christ Jesus:
Whom God has put forward as the sign of his mercy, through faith, by his blood, to make clear his righteousness when, in his pity, God let the sins of earlier times go without punishment;

And As Sometimes Happens To Daddy's Kids
Doubts Of His Cleansing Power Vexes Our Souls

With tears flowing, the child's father at once cried out, "I do believe! Help my unbelief!"
Mark 9:24 (International Standard Version)

We Find We Have No Right To Deny Our LORD His Due
For It Is The LORD Jesus Who Was Oh So Worthy
And We're Just The Children Of His Joy

"Worthy are you, our Lord and God, the Holy One, to receive the glory, the honor, and the power, for you created all things, and because of your desire they existed, and were created!"
Revelation 4:11 (World English Bible)

Believe His Words

And The Spirit

And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
Galatians 4:6 (King James Version)

And Trust

Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.

Be Blessed Beloved Of The KING

Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, On this wise ye shall bless the children of Israel, saying unto them,
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them. Numbers 6:24-27 (King James Version)

Love, Your Brother Joe

What shall I render to the LORD for all his benefits toward me?
I will take the cup of salvation, and call on the name of the LORD.

We all often feel undeserving. We are after all human! Sometimes I think to myself, why did I deserve this, or why do deserve a certain persons attention, or friendship, etc.

And yes, I am sure that there are people who appear to be what they are not in chat, even in small ways. But I have built friendships here because I now have a history with some people, and they have proved their hearts to me (and I to them), on numerous occasions. Some know more about me than some of my friends that I see every day!

I would say that when you say you are going to pray for someone, you can do what I often do. I type my prayer verbatium on the post, and then I pray it to the Lord. In this way I am concentrating on the persons need directly, I don't get distracted or go off subject, and I know the Lord hears the prayer.

And Andy, you are saved, you are a saint, you are not surrounded by them as you say in your post. You are with them. There's a difference!

Blessings
