I have been struggling with Major Depression and Social Anxiety Disorder for seven years now and in past have made three suicide attempts, that landed me in the ICU, and then on to psychiatric hospitals.

I took an overdose of sleeping pills and sedatives and prayed to God to please just let me fall to sleep and never wake up again, until I was in Heaven with the Father.

I am doing better now and am on Anti-Depressant medication, anxiety medication, and sleeping medication and see a psychiatrist every month.

I know that God loves me and wants me to live to my full potential, and he will NOT call me home until it is his time, but I got so sick that I had to leave my job and go on psychiatric disability, and live a lonley life.

When I go to church, I am there, but it feels like no one else knows that I am there, and it hurts.

Please pray that my curcumstances will get better, and I can live a life full of Christian friends, and not have this terrible depression anymore.

God Bless,

Kenny

I am so sorry that you are going through so much depression, but I'm glad that you realize that God wants you here until He says it is time for you to go home. It is a day to day struggle when you suffer from depression. Are there any groups that you could get involved with in your church? Maybe a men's prayer group. Maybe that would help with the feeling that no one knows you are there. Could you talk with your pastor? Just try to remember that you are important and your life is important.

Heavenly Father,

Please help Kenny as he struggles to overcome this depression. Cover him with Your hand and draw him closer to You. Open the eyes of the people in the church he attends to see that there is a hurting lonely person among them and lead someone to reach out to him.

In Christ's name I pray
Amen

Blessings, Kenny - There is GOOD NEWS... the Lord Loves You!!! You are a child of the King! He is your strength and your hope. And let me tell you - HE KNOWS when you are anywhere - home, work, and church!! You want friends? You have to be one first - volunteer for any programs your church has for outreach - to visit the sick and elderly - to set up for feeding the homeless, to work the Food Pantry or Clothing Closet for those less fortunate. Every church has programs to help others and sometimes they work in conjunction with other churches. The best way to meet new people is to just .... do it. Volunteer for activities and let people know you - I am glad to know you and hope you'll be here a lot. We have much in common, my friend. Blessings!!!!

You know one thing you need to realize is that God can make you new again. He can restore your soul, He can restore your hope in you. Keep your confidence in God, He will never fail you.

Heavenly Father, praying for Kenny to focus on Your love and Your promises. Help him guard his thoughts, when he is weak that he will turn to you for strength. Amen.

Hi Kenny!

I have a depression problem, too.

There are only 2 things that have helped me get through it:

1. Putting in a worship CD and spending time worshiping the Lord. The Lord showed me that it would hurt Him if I ended my life, so because of my love for Him I have been able to resist the desires to end my life. Literally, I have no other lifeline.

2. There is such a thing as evil spirits who attack you with a spirit of death. Sometimes I remind myself that my despair is a spirit of death. It's not easy to fight the spirit when I am wanting to give into it, but it helps me to resist giving into it seeing my desires as Hell-bound demons rather than "just me."

Prayers for your strength, healing, and deliverance.
