i would think that more people suffer from depression than we could probadly know or relize, without a hope some people fall into deep sorrow, sometime failers and what people has allowed themselves to be involved in like drugs and whiskey has cause many a sorrow and grief that even the familys suffer seeing a love one destroys themselves with drugs or drinks. Did you know that you can asked a person that is depressed to explain why they are depressed and they cannot give you and answer, some can but most depressed people cannot put their finger on really the reason they have become depressed,
Sickness often leads to depression at all ages, Doctors try hard to go into the mind set of a depressed person and often find themselves in the dark even if they have educated themselves in the study of the human mind. The word of God declares that perfect love castout all fear, maybe thats is the answer to the age old question for the cure of depression.. I know that it is hard to alway think positive about ever situation that comes to each of us sooner or later, if you are reading this and you suffer from depression , maybe you should try and find out what wrong inside of your mind and thinking, maybe talking even to your self during panic atttacts could help calm you down, maybe a quiet time somewhere that is quiet and no one around to destract you , and set down and have a good talk with God and tell him what is eating you alive, and then secondly asking him to help you defeat the demon of Depression. nothing is impossiabe with God, there is nothing broken he cannot fix, recall this when you feel depressed and defeated, sometime the cure for things is right under our nose, and if we all will be totally honest we all know that God is the answer to all our problems, but guess what sometime we want even ask God to help us and seek other way to find a cure for any of lifes problems and woes, The bible says that man born of woman is few days and full of troubles, and you know from self experance that trouble and sorrow visits us all at some points in our life, it is my hope that this might help someone get better from depression, i do think i have suggested and awful Good Doctor and his name is God... he loves you when the whole world has turned it back on you he remains steadffast to love and care for each soul born under the sun . thanks for reading, any word from anyone will be read, thanks and we love you all on this christian site , preacher 777 |

Hi preacher777, I most agree with the line : with God nothing is impossible, and there is nothing broken He cannot fix. Sometimes people are just too broken to realize that God really loves them, flaws and all. I am still learning too how to trust God fully when I'm depressed. There are times I feel that there's nothing worth living for, and I could let anything go because nothing matters at all. There are moments when I desperately say to the Lord, "take all that You need to take, including my life because there's nothing much in this existence". But He lifts me up again. I think depression sets in when we are discontent with our life and not thankful for everything that comes our way, either good or bad. Welcome! All the best. |

Hi preacher777,
I just wanted to thank you for sharing that. There are many people out there who really need to know that there is hope, and that that hope comes from God. I would like to add a few things for those out there who are struggling with depression. God loves us so very much that He sent His only Son to die for us, so that we could have life and have it more abundantly. As a result, we are His children, His special children. We have so much worth to God. Many times when we are depressed, we think that no one cares about us or understands. But God's Word says in 1 Peter 5:7 "Casting all your cares upon the Lord for He cares for you." Micah 7:7 says, "But as for me, I will look to the Lord; I will wait patiently for the God of my salvation; My God WILL hear me." (1 John 5:15 says "And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.") When I meditate on these Scriptures, it gives me great peace to know that at any time I can come to God and give whatever I'm depressed about to Him, and He will take care of it because He cares for me; He hears me, and He will answer my prayers. The same is for you; God is no respector of persons. He understands everything that we are going through, and He has the answer for our problems. Many times we know that God loves us and that He has promised to be with us, but we just loose sight of that Hope, and we get depressed about things. I want to encourage you to always keep Hope in front of your eyes, even when you're going through the toughest of times. "Set your mind on things above..." I know it can be a struggle, but -- and I can't stress it enough -- God is right there to help you through the struggles. Remember, "When you're going through hell, don't stop!" "Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me. Your rod and your staff they comfort me." (Psalm 23:4) So if you're depressed today, know that God is right there with you, and He is the hope that you can run to to give you peace. You can make it! Everything will be okay! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.gif) "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11 |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.gif) I used to suffer from depression. Two things changed it all for me. 1.) Taking the focus off myself. 2.) Changing my diet. |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.gif) I used to suffer from depression. Two things changed it all for me. 1.) Taking the focus off myself. 2.) Changing my diet. What were some of your tactics for taking the focus off of yourself? I tend to agree that some of what is debilitating about depression is an intense, constant, negative self-analysis while at the same time excusing yourself for some things. It's weird. Like selfishness in some senses, but like a horrible affliction in many other senses. I remember feeling not only sad, but also unable to move, wake up or do much of anything. What was hardest for me was not realizing that it was *me* that had to choose to stop being mired in the bad thought. No one else could pull me out. Except God, of course! And that's what he did. It's something that can continue to sneak up on you at times, though. All that said, *sometimes* it's a problem that can, or needs to be, be mitigated in part with medication. |
