Hi everyone,
I am getting married. Date not set yet. I am marrying someone who is a different race from me . He is a Christian. Has anyone got any advice about interracial marriages. Natt |

He is from Samoa and I was brought up in New Zealand by English parents. We have known each other for over 10 years. He is from a very male dominated culture(compared to me) and my upbringing was more liberal. His culture is also different in the Extended family values where I was brought up with a nuclear family environment.

hello ... just my take on it and i have no problem with other races marring if it doesnt affect ones salvation... if both are saved ... which is with anyone... what ever there race... i dont believe God sees color ... he sees the blood .. that is what i think... i have not seen scripture that says we cant marry outside of our skin color.... but there are many people that are very sure that we shouldnt ... i just dont see it that way... my prayers are with u... may God bless you ....

Speaking from my own experience (and opinion)- race should not be an issue. The only issue should be your love for eachother. If he makes you truely happy and you the same for him, then listen to the LORD and your heart. Let your faith guide you and live in happiness.
I am white and I am engaged to a black woman. I was really nervous at first about the racial differences, but God has made me blind to the differences in our skin color. She truely makes me happy and loves the Lord. When it comes to what others say or think - Everybody has their own opinion and I do not let them bother me. God Bless you both and I wish you both the best life God has to offer. |

my advice to you is be prepared for christians who believe otherwise...They are out there. As far as I am concerned Jesus does not care....and it sounds like it is His will. my question to you is...marraige ; after ten years why now? Just wondering? Not necessary to answer me though.

We were going out on and off in that time. more recently though it was him who came to my comfort when I got in a bad situation. He has always been there for me. We know there will be those against us. I have finally came to realise that I need this guy. Marriage actually scares me but as a Christian I don't have much choice. |

There is nothing wrong with marrying someone of another race. But because there seems to be some cultural differences, you and him might want to go to premarital counselling prior to getting married. (Even if there were no cultural differences, premarital counselling is a good thing to help prepare for marriage life).
