Deut 1
30'The LORD your God who goes before you will Himself fight on your behalf, just as He did for you in Egypt before your eyes, 31and in the wilderness where you saw how the LORD your God carried you, just as a man carries his son, in all the way which you have walked until you came to this place.' 32"But for all this, you did not trust the LORD your God, 33who goes before you on your way, to seek out a place for you to encamp, in fire by night and cloud by day, to show you the way in which you should go. 34"Then the LORD heard the sound of your words, and He was angry and took an oath, saying, 35'Not one of these men, this evil generation, shall see the good land which I swore to give your fathers, 36except Caleb the son of Jephunneh; he shall see it, and to him and to his sons I will give the land on which he has set foot, because he has followed the LORD fully.' 37"The LORD was angry with me also on your account, saying, 'Not even you shall enter there. 38'Joshua the son of Nun, who stands before you, he shall enter there; encourage him, for he will cause Israel to inherit it. 39'Moreover, your little ones who you said would become a prey, and your sons, who this day have no knowledge of good or evil, shall enter there, and I will give it to them and they shall possess it. 40'But as for you, turn around and set out for the wilderness by the way to the Red Sea.' 41"Then you said to me, 'We have sinned against the LORD; we will indeed go up and fight, just as the LORD our God commanded us.' And every man of you girded on his weapons of war, and regarded it as easy to go up into the hill country. 42"And the LORD said to me, 'Say to them, "Do not go up nor fight, for I am not among you; otherwise you will be defeated before your enemies."' 43"So I spoke to you, but you would not listen. Instead you rebelled against the command of the LORD, and acted presumptuously and went up into the hill country. 44"The Amorites who lived in that hill country came out against you and chased you as bees do, and crushed you from Seir to Hormah. 45"Then you returned and wept before the LORD; but the LORD did not listen to your voice nor give ear to you. |

In grace, is a judgment? What do I mean by that?
Verse 40 is perhaps one of the most profound and costly verses of judgement in the entire Bible. In this one little sentence, God tells the tribes of Israel that an 11-day walk is going to take 40 more years and they will be dead but their kids will get to rest from wandering. They chose not to trust Him by trusting the 10 bad reports over the 2 good reports (but majority opinion is the democratic way in the "church" ain't it?) For this, He had to teach them He could be trusted. He had to send them to faith boot camp! They would learn over 40 years that He does what He says He will do and He does it quite well, thankyouverymuch.... Isn't this a picture of all of us? Whenever we choose to disobey Him on anything, He has to bring us around the wilderness until we are ready to surrender as unto a Cross. This was posted because it seems like a prophetic message even until today about choosing "another way" We will go through the Cross either way...willingly or not Otherwise, we would be worthless bondservants. He is faithful to complete the work He began in you to conform us all to the image of His Son, Yeshua, who came to serve and not to be served. Who, being made in the image of God, humbled Himself to all of sinful man. His ways aren't always (or even usually) easy...but He can still be trusted to be a good Abba! I wish that so many of you had known what a good Abba is supposed to be! He is NOT like any Father who would abuse His kids. He is a teacher, and a friend, and a healer, and provider, and our security from harm, or our answer to loneliness. He will bring us straight through the short way when we trust Him.... or we can go through Sinai. Either way, He's bringing us through.... or His Name isn't El Shaddai |

I know this is true..
but it is a hard truth.. Like getting surgery for a tumor ... Not fun but necessary for life and health and happiness... I think of this ... Heb 12:11 Now chastening for the present does not seem to be joyous, but grievous. Nevertheless afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who are exercised by it. Heb 12:12 Because of this, straighten up the hands which hang down and the enfeebled knees. Heb 12:13 And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way, but let it rather be healed. |

Heb 12:26 At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, "Yet once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens."
Heb 12:27 This phrase, "Yet once more," indicates the removal of things that are shaken--that is, things that have been made--in order that the things that cannot be shaken may remain. Heb 12:28 Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, Heb 12:29 for our God is a consuming fire. Good post this, and thanks for the Verses Tah. I followed up in the same chapter, and guess I have it figured out. Your post of Heb 12: 11-13 states that discipline by the Lord is necessary from time to time. The Chapter ends with the statement that once things are shaken up,(and by discipline dropped off), what remains is a kingdom that cannot be shaken. Our foundation in the Lord as it were. |
