Receiving A Call - Worthy Christian Forums

Since I don't have permision to post this in any of the other forums (I'm not certain why) I will post it here:
How do you know when you get a call? Is it a specific event that you can say happened at 5:45 Thursday morning, just a general feeling or what? How can you be certain that your desire to go into the ministry or missions is what God wants you to do? David

I offer the following example of how you may know that G-d is communicating to you personally.

I had heard a radio commercial many times asking for support, however, on one praticular occasion the words came through very clear and I developed a desire to comply with the commercials request. I was also given over to what amount to send and did so immeadiately and cheerfully.
No flashing lights or ringing bells, just an overwhelming desire to comply, or if you will, obey.

I imagine, like everything with GOD, it is personal and different for everybody.

When I got saved, I sat in church week after week complaining to myself that I was not getting fed. I sat there every Sunday for a couple of months. One Sunday, in the middle of my usual distress, I heard HIS voice (the clearest I have ever heard it).

"You're not here to get fed, you're here to feed". From that point on I was in Bible studies and singing and teaching and eventually preaching.

My pastor reads Greek amd Hebrew and we discovered that I had an unnatural ability to interpret scripture and convey what the original textual meanings were.

I got saved with a great passion of the Word and have continued burning for 20 years now.

If you have the passion, operate from that passion. If you are going to answer the call, know that it takes an absolute, unwaivering faith in GOD's desire to provide all you need, and even a couple of wants.

Be ready to sacrifice everything.
