My mom just called me to tell me she found out Monday that she has a lump on her left lung, caused by smoking. That is the reason she gets sick all the time and is now battling a bad bout of bronchitis. They don't know if it is cancerous or not yet, but she goes in for testing in 10 days. The doctors said that if it is cancerous, she has 2 choices:
1. Have a biopsy done (she doesn't want to do this because it could make it spread) 2. Undergo radiation treatment (she would rather do this and be done with it) Currently, my dad is going bonkers because this is how his father died. When she told him, he put his head through a kitchen cabinet and started to cry. He is in denial about it clearly because when my mother brought it up on the phone tonight (I asked her to wake him up so I could talk to him), he didn't want to talk about it. She is going to start a quit smoking program soon called Chantix which costs $160. I told her I want to pay for half of it, whatever she has to do to quit smoking, I'll help her with. Please pray for her to be healed. It hasn't quite sunken in for me yet, but I'm sure eventually I'll freak out in my head so please pray that I will remain strong for her. Please pray for her to not want or crave smoking anymore. Please pray for the comfort of my whole family through this and to remain strong together in His love. Thanks. Father thank you for your strength. When we have crisis and can't think of what to pray, you tell us to just groan and you'll understand that prayer. Dad when our mortality suddenly faces us and says time is closing in on you. We try and look for the right prayers or think of what to say in comfort. It gets hard and confusing and so you, knowing this, said "just groan, I'll know what your wanting to say". Thanks Father that is really nice of you.
I ask you Holy Spirit, to go to all the members of this family and touch each of them with your peace that passes understanding. Draw the paralyzing fear out of the dad and replace it with a new confidence to take on this giant. I pray for Holy Spirit inspired prayers to bring healing and restoration to the lungs and any affected areas of her body that have possibly been affect but not detected. I pray for financial provision to meet all household and medical needs as they arise. Jesus, you say your stripes were for healing. I ask that you appropriate power for healing now to any affected area in mom's body. I speak to those areas now in your name Jesus, and command any and all diseased tissues to be transformed into normal healthy tissue now by your power and command any demonic involvement to exasperate this situation to be stopped now. Your assignments are canceled and you are to go now to the foot of the cross and pay honor to Jesus. Send angels Father to encourage and inspire the family to become one and to minister to each one what they need to bring this battle to victory. Thank you Jesus, Father and Holy Spirit. You are truly the best! amen |

I pray You give strength and courage to the mother to help her overcome the addiction of smoking. Give the doctors wisdom and lead them to the correct healing way for her.
