Why do we care about what?

I don't really operate via links, Nick. I would prefer to present my case on the thread in question and I am hoping you will do the same. Can you present your evidence on this thread that ‘proves’ theropods evolved into birds? Can you include the mechanisms involved and explain the information transfer required to work this miracle of naturalism. Are you an a-theist or just a skeptic (or something else)?

This article explains the scientific method...very well, in fact. It explains how hypotheses and theories are formed and how they are the 'best guess' based on the data available. It does NOT contain one iota of evidence of common descent, it simply explains how the theory came to be and what it is based upon.

I wonder about this myself; if you KNOW you're right, why not just enjoy your rightness? Why is there this burning NEED to convince Christians that we are just another animal? That we are not God's creation. I KNOW the answer but....I'd like to hear yours. None of the others ever answered; they never do.

Looking back at my posts, I'm being unfair, because I'm getting frustrated.

Let me slow down and ask some questions.

Do you believe that dinosaurs exist?
If so, when?
What happened to them?
Were any of them on the ark?
How were we (that are alive today) built?

Here are my answers to the questions:

Yes, dinosaurs existed.
They died out about 65 million years ago.
There was a great extinction that may have happened over a month, a year, or a millennium.
No, there were none on the ark, because the ark is a bible story intended to represent the essence of truth.
We were built by our DNA.

Let's see if this takes us somewhere instructive (for both of us ... remember, I'm trying to learn here, not to engage in fruitless arguments).

And for goodness' sake, PLEASE let's not poke fun at each other's beliefs - let's try to learn.

You should read "finding darwins god" by William Kenneth who is a christian and head or evolutionary biology at Brown university - I don't have time for this - he goes into detail explaining evolution to people like yourself who believe it is a trick of the devil and shows evolutionary evidence - and if you have questions for him you can go take a class or email him -

I don't believe evolution is a trick of the devil; where did that come from? I believe the effort to convince people that we are not created beings, that we are just another animal and not created in God's image, is of satan. And so are the proponents of that effort. Actually, I will probably read that book; I read very quickly and I read a LOT. It will be interesting to see if this man is a Christian or a CINO. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)
