    • Archbishop assails Trump over illegal immigrant issue
      By MorningGlory · Posted
I'm of the opinion that the good Archbishop doesn't know what he's talking about.  There is nothing brutal about deporting criminals.  At least we don't sentience them to labor camps or execute them as many other countries do.  http://news.yahoo.com/archbishop-assails-trump-over-birthright-citizenship-repeal-010026283--election.html
    • How should the Bible be interpreted?
      By Retrobyter · Posted
Shalom, Ezra.  Thank you for the beautiful reminder of what is needed in Biblical interpretation. I whole-heartedly support the grammatical-historical interpretation of BOTH the Tanakh (the OT), and the Brit Chadashah (the NT).

I like Dr. Stanley.  He's one of the few 'televangelists' that I give any credence to.

Song of Solomon 2:4 God as our lover By Dr.Charles Stanley Love-as in ,"His banner over me was love (Song 2:4),is the greatest gift God offers us,and yet it is the one we have the most difficulty receiving. Why? First,we do not think we deserve His love-which is true."God demonstrates His own love toward us," the apostle Paul writes,"in that while we were still sinners,Christ died for us" (Rom.5:8) Second,we do not understand it,for the quality of His love differs tremendously from our own.We somehow want to believe that He loves us the way we love others.Such a viewpoint, however, leaves us doubtful that He will always love us as the Bible promises. He will. Love is a commitment to the satisfaction, peace, security, joy, and developement of another person.God's love is not based on emotion, but flows out of His changeless character. The Bible tells us that God is love (see 1 John 4:8).Since it is impossible for Him to do anything contrary to His nature,His love will forever remain certain and dependable. In addition,His gift is love. James 1:17 implies that God's love does not change, and it exists independently of our feelings about "deserving it".We can not earn it or give anything in return for it-God offers His love to us freely,as a gift. Furthermore, the love of our heavenly Father is perfect.Every one of God's attributes represents the peak of perfection and cannot be improved to any degree.Since His love is perfect,we know it will bless us forever. He will always treat each of us in accordance with His love. Everyday you and I walk under the canopy of God's amazing love, which remains perfect and changeless, even if we wander from His will or fall into disobedience.Never allow yourself to think, the canopy must be down.It never is!We did not erect the canopy, and neither can we dismantle it. God has always loved you and always will.Release any misconceptions therefore, and rejoice under his canopy of love.

This woman represents everything that is wrong in our society.  And, unfortunately, she linked to her FB account when she sent out the tweet and her address, name of her school and her husband's name are now out on the internet;  Can't call her the sharpest knife in the drawer, for sure.  People are really up in arms over this down here http://www.breitbart.com/texas/2015/09/01/slain-cop-deserved-execution-and-had-creepy-perv-eyes-says-blacklivesmatter-supporter/
    • The Origin of the Church go much further back than Acts Chapter 2
By Your closest friendnt · Posted
Your post is describing part of the events that happen with Moses in the dessert. Moses called " the Assebly of people". The message of Moses is leading  to an earthly inheritance. For Mose to say,  that the time will come that my instructions will pass away, must be disturbing. Questions must be asked. Why not now? If the new instructions are better, why don't you give them now. No somebody else would do that. And how about Moses, what is he going to do? Will the Nation be divided in two? No brother those people are not part of the church of Jesus Christ who leads his people to the heavenly inheritance. That's the news they would have liked to hear, but the did not.  No they are not part of the Assebly of the N.T. the O.T. Assebly is diferent from the N.T. Assebly.
    • Police Shootings (at them and from them)
      By Ezra · Posted
The fundamental flaw in policing in all the cities is that nobody among all the police forces had the wisdom and foresight to properly assess what was happening the cities and how policing should reflect that reality.   The black and hispanic components of the populations of all the cities has been increasing for decades.  Given the fact that race and racism have always been factors in American life, there should have been a commitment to have blacks policed by blacks, hispanics by hispanics, Chinese by Chinese, etc.   Why? FOR THE SIMPLE REASON THAT THE RACE CARD WOULD BE ELIMINATED FROM POLICE WORK.  All the turmoil that we see around us is because white officers are perceived as using racism against black criminals, and thus law enforcement has been politicized. And let's face it.  Some (or many) of them are indeed racist.  But each of these ethnic groups have their own sub-culture, and if the cops belong to it and know it inside out, then they can also be more effective.  In addition to that, if a couple of black cops arrested some black gangbangers, who could possibly say that this was a race-related arrest?  And if they had to shoot and kill some of them, the black community would say that the rascals got what they deserved.
