    • Why did God create evil?
      By JohnD · Posted
There is a passage that seems to indicate God created evil. Isaiah 45:7 (AV) 7I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things. But if you look carefully at the verse the explanation is clear. Light causes shadows. Without light there is only darkness. And borrowing a line from that theologically concise movie "Oh God" George Burns Almighty put it succinctly, "You can't have a front without a back."  The best we can hope for is the focus of evil in a constrained place called hell / the lake of fire / gehenna / hades when all who are going to be saved have been saved. But God did not create evil by intention or testing or entrapment. There isn't a cruel thought in God's thinking. It's just the flip side of his goodness and the basis for the choices we must make.

There is no indication that the heavens created in Genesis 1 are all three heavens. In 2 Corinthians 12 Paul refers to one who went to the third heaven (being the spirit realm). The first and second heavens are mentioned in Genesis 1:7 divided by the waters of a vapor canopy. The canopy apparently contributed to the global flood in Genesis 6-9 and is no longer extant (as similar canopies are around 5 of the [now] 8 planets of the Solar System). We would list the three heavens as skyouter spacethe spirit realm / domain of GodThere is no indication of how long ago God created the spirit realm or the spirit beings we inaccurately call angels, but it apparently predated the creation week because in Job we read: Job 38:4–7 (AV) 4Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. 5Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? 6Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof; 7When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? The "angels" were apparently created prior to this and further back in "time" / "eternity past" to have been thinking, assembled witnesses to the creation event (of the physical realm).

if people are willingly giving up their property,  why did the federal government have to file over 400 condemnation law suits just for the 700 mile fence?

I don't think I know anything.  That's an oxymoron.  I know because I know.   I can't convince you I know.   I know because I have a relationship with God.   I have something you don't have.  You are separated from God by sin and have no relationship so you can't possibly understand what it is like to actually know God.  Your sinner and you don't know God.   It has nothing to do with internal biases.   As a sinner you have no concept being able to God on the level I know him.

I still reside at Montgomery Elderly Care, in Montgomery, W. Va. I am 75 years of age and still have Cerebral Palsy and still confined to wheelchair or bed. I still teach a Sunday School class here regularly, although this position is shared with others on staff, here.
I have lived here at Montgomery Elderly Care Center for  almost 11 years,  at the time this is written.
