The logical error you make is that because of many who error there is none who get it right...
When in reality Jesus has said many go therein referring to perdition... so we should see many...
      John 8:31-32
31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word,
then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
      KJV
once again who is Jesus speaking to here? Because this answers your error of papal recession...
    • Hawking's 'dis' of theology proves why it's needed
      By siegi91 · Posted
First of all, I think that the quote of Hawkins you mentioned is nonsensical. I think Hawking gets pretty much carried away sometimes and that confuses the poor layman even more. Gravity cannot possibly explain why there is something instead of nothing, if gravity, or a law thereof, are something. So, back to Einstein. I think Einstein actually showed that there is not such a thing as a force of gravity. The force is induced by opposing the natural path that you would follow in spacetime if there were no obstacles. It just happens that this natural path is curved when you are close to a mass. You have a weight just because there is a floor under your feet that stops you from following your natural path towards the center of the earth. Remove the floor and you will feel no force whatsoever. Even near the earth. Einstein showed that spacetime is a physical object that can be bent by the presence of mass, or energy. And its equations show exactly that. Matter influence curvature, and curvature affects the motion of those masses. This mutual interaction is also responsible for ripples in the fabric of spacetime. These ripples are called gravitational waves, with a certain abuse of language. Inflationary theory goes a step forward by positing the basic mechanisms that gave rise to mass from the decay of a scalar field called the inflaton. The basic mechanisms are very similar to the birth of fresh mass near the even horizon of a black hole, Hawkins discovery, and that is probably why he so thrilled about it. But that requires both relativity and quantum mechanics. But that works, at least on paper. the truth is: we have no clue how the universe really looked like at the spacetime location we identify with its birth, since our knowledge of how relativity meshes with quantum mechanics is fragmentary, at best.

So, all non-Catholics are simply the failed product of some experiment? You should be ashamed if you believe that way!

she needs to know that someone cares for her and that you love her as a sister baggage or not.   Beyond that one would have to know a lot more about the situation......   for someone who's been a daddies girl to call him the devil incarnate doesn't just happen unless she's into serious drugs....   and the very last thing she needs to hear from you is that you are behind your dad no matter what....    even if you are......   even if you should be... I lost a niece a few years ago to suicide who was a major problem to her family for many many years and they were devastated and still are.   So for your own peace of mind try and give her someone to talk to that won't turn what she says against her.... But if you can't do that then just stay out of it.....   but I promise that if she kills herself, the "what if's" will not let you sleep peacefully for a long time if you are anything like myself.

Believe it or not Enoob, I understand the principle, and in principle I agree. It is in the putting of the principle into practice, in the manner in which you and others here have advocated, where I find this application, the manner in which it is put into practice,  fails for the purpose to which it is put - namely to come to a right understanding of scripture when scripture alone is used as the believer's authority, and it is the believer, the scripture and the Holy Spirit alone - divorced from everything else in christianity. Logically this approach can only yield fallible, error prone understanding and interpretation of scripture.  And this is born out in history since this application of the principle was put into play 500 years ago. It is this application of the principle that has led to the confusion christianity presents to the world, fractured down thousands of lines of disagreement, all claiming to understand the scripture properly using this principle in the way you advocate. The evidence for the last  500 years has shown this principle fails to bring unity in the body of Christ in understanding truth. The evidence for the last 500 years has shown that it fosters and promotes disunity in understanding truth, as, the further along we have come in the great protestant experiment, the more fractured protestantism has become. If this application, you and others adovcate, of the principle were indeed how the Holy Spirit would have us engage in interpretation and understanding of scripture, then we would expect to see movement towards unity of belief, not this constant and ever increasing fracturing. As Jesus said: Mark 3:25 If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.   And again, if one ignores the command of scripture to stand fast and hold to the traditions taught by the Apostles - by word -verbally, orally - as well as in writing, and only holds to what was given in writing, how can one be said to be continuing in the word of Jesus? 2 Thessalonians 2:15  So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the traditions that you were taught by us, either by our spoken word or by our letter.   The word of Jesus is complete and whole - and scripture tells us where to find the complete, whole word - in the teachings of the apostles both verbally and in writing.     Edited - it is too easy to get lost in threads now, so I ended up responding to your post twice  - each time from a bit of a different angle.  I didn't mean to do that, but I will just leave them both.   I wanted to explain why I responded to the same post twice.
