    • Salvation is simple. Don't add to Scripture, or take away from Scripture.

Just a few comments on some of the remarks in this thread. 1. It is NEVER dangerous to read the Holy Bible. On the contrary, it is Life, and Light, and Truth. But we are to approach it with reverence and believe it as the Word of God. 2. Scripture is to be taken LITERALLY unless it is clear that a metaphor is being used. The creation account speaks of six LITERAL  24-hour days, hence they are bounded by "EVENING AND MORNING".  The Hebrew day began at 6:00 p.m. and ended at the same time. On the other hand, when Scripture says that with God a thousand years are as one day, and vice versa, it is essentially telling us that TIME MEANS NOTHING TO GOD.  Yet, in His condescension to Man, God made a six-day week out of creation and rested on the 7th day. This was to lay down a principle for humanity - six days of labour, and one day of rest, which is now embedded in the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:9-11). 3. At the time that Christ ministered on earth, the scribes and Pharisees had the entire Tanakh or Old Testament.  Thus the Lord makes references to many Scriptures outside the Torah, e.g. Jonah, Elijah before the Day of the Lord, etc. Before His ascension, He taught His apostles about Himself from (1) the Law (Torah), (2) the Prophets (Nebiim), and (3) the Psalms or Writings (Kethubim). That constitutes the 24 books of the Hebrew Bible (the Tanakh). That is exactly our Old Testament, but with many of the books split into several parts. 4. We are not expected to merely "read" the Bible.  We are commanded to STUDY the Word (2 Tim 2:15). Which means using all legitimate Bible tools (not commentaries) and toiling in the study of the Scriptures (which most Christians do not do).

But they did have to go to such lengths, that is the number of suits the government had to file to get the land.  It is not hypothetical,  it is reality

I voted for Gary Johnson last election and will do so again if he is on the Libertarian ticket.  There is no candidate from either of the other parties worth wasting the gas to drive to vote for. My lifetime voting record for president is as follows: Reagan Bush Clinton Perot Nader Bush No vote Johnson

she is a special case for somehow she was not consulted when the fence went in.....   I'm betting when she is compensated for the land they took she will be much less upset.....     but she does have the right to be angry because they didn't do so prior to building the fence. But we need a secure border and it must be done...
