My elderly dad is being pressured by his doctors into two surgeries. One for the bladder. And the other one for his heart valve malfunctioning. He is nearly 75 and very frail. The anesthesiologist told him she felt there were dangers in a man as old as he is to be undergoing these operations. She was clearly uncomfortable with it. I also have a strong feeling that this would just be too much on him. A big gamble to take! He feels the same way and is scared to proceed. ( Only willing to do the surgeries if they are absolutely necessary, but definitely not wanting them. ) I guess I think it is best he follow his own instincts. Though it's all so complicated. Either way...there are definite dangers. With or without surgery! Heart problems can lead to death ( and I don't know much about bladder problems. Are they life threatening? ) In the end, it is his decision and I feel no doctor should push him into something he feels so uneasy about. He is much weaker lately, and that is usually not a good candidate for surgery. Right? Well, I am praying for my dad to somehow have God's wisdom on this dillema. Even those he is not a Christian yet. Most of all, I am concerned he become saved soon, making Jesus His Lord and Savior! As much as I want God to extend his earthly life, I know the most important thing is that he would be able to go to Heaven. As for me, I'm suffering lots of physical problems of my own. So I would appreciate prayer for the two of us.

Often, doctors speak words of doom over their patients but we know that Jesus speaks words of life. We know that doctors are necessary but we also know that life and death are in the power of the tongue. Speak positive words over your Father and rebuke any negative words that doctors or nurses might speak over him. Jesus is our healer. I am praying now that Jesus will send his ministering angels to both of you and that a door will be open for your father to receive Christ. I pray for Jesus to give him dreams and visions.
