  1. Yes, "Woe to them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!" Isaiah 5   But while we decry this, may we be clear about Jesus call to us: 'You are the light of the world....the salt of the earth." Jesus warned us that if salt loses its savor, it will be cast into the streets and trampled underfoot.   Are we Christians being judged today for not being salt in our society?  There is too much confusion among us that has prepared the way for good to be called evil. Much of what has happened that goes directly against clear commands of God has been done in the name of "love" and most Christians do not care enough to study and show themselves approved workmen so that they can help others see through the confusion. ** Link removed""
  2. Exodus Movie

Two one liners: From Faith-Driven Consumer,“The portrayal of God as a willful, angry and petulant child in EXODUS will be a deal breaker for most people of faith around the world,” And from Religious News Service, Jonathan Merritt: "...but they’ll go see the film anyway. Religious people are as enamored by celebrity culture as any other group, and the big-name cast will draw many." If gambling were not a sin, where would you place your bets? Another review at CT:
  3. Advent is a Season of Light in the Darkness. Do you want to be a faithful witness in these days? Get this man's book (linked above) or another like it and start a Bible study in your church or home. Invite your neighbors. Be salt in this world.
  4. From the article linked above: "In the future, Cochran will be prohibited from distributing the book on city property; he will also be required to undergo sensitivity training. "At least one local LGBT group has asked for Cochran’s permanent removal from the force."   "Cochran first served as Atlanta’s fire chief in 2008. The next year, President Obama appointed him as the U.S. fire administrator for the United States Fire Administration. He returned to Atlanta, and his old job as the fire chief, in 2010."   Better article Here:   Yes, I don't notice any real reviews on amazon. I ordered the book and will review it.  All the one-star comments are actually hate mongering and personal attacks.  Hope Christians  will give him some aid.  If you click on a review, it gives you an option to report it as "inappropriate" and if enough people do that they will delete such a post. It asks for a reason and I put 'NOT a review but a personal attack.'  ...."hate mongering"  ...etc.
  5. The "Just War"

Remember that the Bible says we reap what we sow.  When the U.S. invaded Iraq we opened Pandora's Box.  There would be no ISIS if the U.S. had not launched that unjust war and turned chaos loose.  Now, there certainly is a responsibility of the State to try and stop ISIS.   If Christians would learn to be Christians and learn the difference between God's calling for his people and his wrath administered through governments, the salt would regain its savor.
  6. Most people who were caught up in the global warming hysteria lacked perspective and basic science.  Anyone who calls CO2 "pollution" must have flunked General Science in high school.    The Little Ice Age petered out in the early 1800s.  There are no more ice fairs on the Themes in England.  When the natural cycle changed, melting started.  We have had less than a degree of warming in the last century, and none for the satellite data shows none for the last 18 years.    A good place to keep up with this is
  7. Kelvin Cochran published a Bible study book on Christian ethics and dared to call sodomy a sin.  And now the hate crowd is trying to dis his book with one star reviews on amazon:
  8. Climate change

Records show that we are in a lull regarding natural disasters here.
  9. Many Americans on this American holy day will have no clue about the origins of Thanksgiving Day.  Read the early Thanksgiving Day proclamations:
  10. Romans 5:8

    Thoughts on Romans 5
  11. The Rapture

Certain Scripture texts have become fodder for men's imaginations, generating huge book profits for authors and publishers.   But few Christians care to study God's word in context when entertainment and sensationalism is their desire.    Here is 1 Thess. and the 'rapture' in context:
  12. Bible study issue...please help.

Often confused is the "what this verse means to me" issue.
  13. Bookmark the permalink. God’s Assignment: Teach Your Children His Word Nov1by Michael Snow      All Saints Day   Deuteronomy 6, verse 4, begins, “Hear” which calls God’s people to ‘hear and do.’ This begins the Shema, which Jesus and his disciples would have recited morning and evening. We are called to hear and do the Great Commandment, to love the LORD our God with all our heart and with all our soul [life] and with all our strength. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.  You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.  You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates…. Now, who is the “you” who is to teach the children God’s commands? It is not the preacher; it is not the Sunday School; it is not the youth pastor. It is those who sit in the house, who go to bed there and wake up there, it is the parents of the children. ... cont.
  14. Big Bang Proven False?

Calvin on Genesis 1: “He who would learn astronomy…let him go elsewhere….”  ”Moses wrote in a popular style things which without instruction, all ordinary persons, endued with common sense, are able to understand; but astronomers investigate with great labor whatever the sagacity of the human mind can comprehend. Nevertheless, this study is not to be reprobated, nor this science to be condemned, because some frantic persons are wont boldly to reject whatever is unknown to them. For astronomy is not only pleasant, but also very useful to be known: it cannot be denied that this art unfolds the admirable wisdom of God.”
  15. Big Bang Proven False?

Augustine on Genesis 1: Now, it is a disgraceful and dangerous thing for an infidel to hear a Christian,  presumably giving the meaning of Holy Scripture, talking  nonsense on these topics; and we should take all means to prevent such an embarrassing situation, in which people show up vast ignorance in a Christian and laugh it to scorn.  The shame is not so much that an ignorant individual is derided, but that people outside the household of faith think our sacred writers held such opinions, and, to the great loss of those for whose salvation we toil, the writers of our Scripture are criticized and rejected as unlearned men.  If they find a Christian mistaken in a field which they themselves know well and hear him maintaining his foolish opinions about our books, how are they going to believe those books in matters concerning the resurrection of the dead, the hope of eternal life, and the kingdom of heaven, when they think their pages are full of falsehoods on facts which they themselves have learned from experience and the light of reason?
