You've got great taste in music... I'm into country as well, but really have moved into contemporary Christian too!

Love your choices... Just to add a few:

Mercy Me... I think Bart Millard has one of the best voices around and his writting is one of the best, bar none.

First Day... Actually an acapela group, but their tight harmonies are wonderful!

New Song... Oldies but goodies. These guys are all over 45 and they sing like they're 25! Wow!

I have heard of Mercy Me but the others I have not heard of before. I have found inspirational messeges in some country songs with strong christian values about love, life, family, where one places their priorities, God, and others.

I really like this one song called "the little girl". Its sad but has a great ending.

Yep, "The Little Girl" will touch your heart... I like it.

As for the other groups... If you are interested:

Newsong has been around awhile since 1981, their website is newsongonline.com

First Day has been around about 10 years, their website is firstdaymusic.com. and will be playing out in California in late July.

Since I was saved I listen 95% to Christian music. I find it really does feed my soul. Some of my favs (but certainly not the only ones) are:
Chris Tomlin (I Will Rise, How Great is Our God, Indescribable)
Mercy Me (I love their older stuff but I'm into No More No Less currently; plus I love it that they had a hit on "mainstream" radio)
Steven Curtis Chapman (Heaven Is a Face brings tears every time)
Mandisa (she has such a strong, beautiful voice)
Toby Mac (City on Our Knees is a great one)

However, I do still go back and listen to Springsteen, Queen and Metallica from time to time. :taped:

Are Big Tent still around? I bought a couple of their tapes back in the 90s and haven't seen anything new lately. I can see why a Beatles fan would like big tent Revival. Good choice:)

I was an 80's teen, so my favorites are the Christian singers and bands of the 80's!

I'm having a hard time truly getting into the modern music ever since grunge took over.

But I am beginning to enjoy the new generation of worship leaders that are not a part of the Christian Music industry -

Sean Feucht
Rick Pino
Jesus Culture
Misty Edwards
etc.

I mean no offense to fans of Chesney or McGraw, but to me, they are so far removed from country music. They, and 95% of what's played on "country" radio, sound like they have a clothespin on their nose-the twang is SOOO fake. They talk normal but to hear them sing, they're laying on the twang to a rock background that happens to have a fiddle or steel guitar thrown in to says it's country. I saw some joker on TV the other doing some song called "Stomp" and he's got him some boots and a hat on while the rest of the "band" look like punk rockers lol!!! :taped:

I like almost anything, but mainly the older country/country gospel. Just can't stand modern "country" and it bugs me to hear supposed "classic" country stations starting to throw in Brooks and Dunn and other 90's acts. One "classic" station hear even plays McGraw and Chesney!

Music is a HUGE part of my life .. and I can't really give a list as it would go on forever! But I love almost everything Christian (when it gets into the screaming .. I turn it off). I used to listen to a lot of secular music but decided for myself it wasn't what I needed in my life .. so now I have only a couple artists I listen to here and there.
