joi,

Ravi is always a thrilling read or listen. check out his public speaking on youtube. his ministry is very interesting.

he is a man who loves words, and possesses many degrees. i never listen to him and not learn something new.

i like how he skillfully destroys people in debates, all while convicting them of the value of a repentant heart.

Jesus Among Other gods, is a book where he summarizes some experiences about his youth in India where he was raised.. He also scrutinizes the uniqueness of Jesus Christ in comparison to other major religions, and utilizes this avenue to prove that Christ is who He says He is.

a quote from the intro:

"My earnest prayer is that when you read this, you will make your judgment of the Christian message based on truth, not the mood of our times. Moods change. Truth does not."

love to you.

i am getting these two books from my local christian book store

first one

Another Man's War

Sam Childers

The rise of Sam Childers from violent, drug-addicted biker to a man willing to risk everything to rescue the orphans and child soldiers of Sudan.

"Another Man's War is about true terrorism... against more than 200,000 children in northern Uganda and Southern Sudan. Sam Childers - a fighter and a preacher (some call him a mercenary) - tirelessly leads a small militia into the jungle, daring to fight against a vicious army outnumbering him one thousand to one. One man can make a huge difference. Sam

second book

Freedom Of Self-forgetfulness, The seller.gif

Timothy J Keller

"What are the marks of a supernaturally changed heart?"

This is one of the questions the Apostle Paul addresses as he writes to the church in Corinth. He's not after some superficial outward tinkering, but instead a deep-rooted, life-altering change that takes place on the inside. In an age where pleasing people, puffing up your ego and building your resume are seen as the methods to "make it", the Apostle Paul calls us to find true rest in blessed self-forgetfulness.

lol Chloe how do you define good ones from bad ones ?

I try them out and taste them. The good ones I keep. The bad ones I toss.

The Good Ones Make You Fat

The Bad Ones Make You Hungry For The Good Ones

I Like Both :)

Here’s the weird thing: post #155 is mine, but I didn’t post it in this thread. I posted it in one of the What are you reading? threads which I thought was later merged with the other What are you reading? thread.

I have no idea how I wound up over here.

I guess I collect confusedness.
