We are often harsh with each other when posting on the boards, and after reading the book of James; I started seeing a little of how God wants me to “post” here and in my everyday life.
So, the next time you feel the anger rising, read this before you post...
In James 1: 19 – 20, God tells us,
James 1:19 know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger;
James 1:20 for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.
BE QUICK TO LISTEN
BE SLOW TO SPEAK
BE SLOW TO ANGER
So count to 10, remember the above three points, and only then post if you are feeling aggrieved at another poster, or a specific post.
Or even better, remember this,
"I have never been hurt by that which I have not said"
and put your pride aside and say nothing.
Good reminder Fez. I want to try to question and discuss things with others in love, kindness, humility, gentleness, with restoration in mind as we are heirs of God with Christ. Remember we're here seeking truth - God's truth. We're all in the process of sanctification and we're all learning. My Dad used to say to people when I was younger "Be patient with him, God's not done with him yet." Let us strive to see others as Christ does?
Let us remember humility, as Believers we are heirs of God with Christ. (Philippians 2:3; 1 Peter 5:5, Romans 8:17)
Remember we are to seek restoration with a spirit of gentleness. (Galatians 6:1)
We are to be kind and tenderhearted to one another. (Ephesians 5:32) Philippians 2:3Let
nothing be done
through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.1 Peter 5:5
Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your
elders. Yes, all of you
be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for ‘God resists the proud,
But gives grace to the humble.’Romans 8:17
The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17
and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him,
that we may also be glorified together.Galatians 6:1
Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.Ephesians 4:32
Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
