(NaturalNews) While the U.S. government is desperately attempting to disarm the American population by rolling out Adolf Hitler-style gun control, it is simultaneously arming itself to the teeth, buying up 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition and now stockpiling it at ammo depot stations around the country.

The hypocrisy of it all is stunning. While screaming, "GUNS ARE BAD!" to American farmers, ranchers and citizens, the government is buying up billions of dollars worth of guns and ammo itself. This isn't ammo to be used in a foreign theater of war, by the way, it's ammo that can only be used domestically, against the American people. (The hollow point ammo violates international war treaties and so cannot be used in international war actions.)

To help us all visualize the hypocrisy in the government's gun control schemes, I came up with our latest Counterthink cartoon.

Feel free to post this cartoon on your own website, but please give credit to the original source, which is NaturalNews.com / Counterthink.com.

In addition to purchasing 450 million rounds of hollow point .40 caliber ammo, the U.S. government has also purchased:

• Over one million rounds of hollow-point .223 rifle ammo
• Over half a million rounds of non-hollow-point .223 rifle ammo
• 220,000 rounds of 12 gauge shotgun #7 ammo (target ammo)
• Over 200,000 rounds of 12 gauge shotgun #00 buckshot ammo (tactical anti-personnel ammo)
• 66,000 rounds of 12 gauge shotgun slugs (tactical anti-personnel, anti-vehicle rounds)
• Over two million rounds of hollow-point .357 Sig JHP (hollow-point) pistol ammo (anti-personnel)
• Over four million rounds of .40 S&W JHP (hollow-point) pistol ammo (anti-personnel)
• Over 60,000 rounds of .308 match grade anti-personnel sniper rounds (BTHP)
• Plus, hundreds of thousands of additional rounds of .38 special, .45 auto, 9mm, 7.62x39 (AK rifle) ammo, and others.

Note that there's not ONE bit of evidence provided for these claims. From what government department did the funds come from to purchase all of this ammo? Who did they buy it from? Where are these storage sites located? How was the itemized list obtained and from whom?

Just posting things on the internet doesn't make them true and an obscure organization in Taiwan doesn't strike me as a 'news source'. A little research is in order.

MG, If you click on the link "1.6 billion rounds of ammunition" in the post, it will take you to another article that has a link where you can view the original federal purchase document.

The feds buy large amounts of ammo every year; always have. Now, tell me, what about the 'facts' put forth below?

Fact #1) The government is arming to the teeth, stockpiling more than five rounds of ammunition for every American man, woman and child.

Fact #2) The American people are also arming to the teeth, buying up millions of firearms and billions of rounds of ammunition at a record pace.

Fact #3) The Obama criminals have become arrogant and stupid, thinking they can pull off anything. They will over-estimate their power and soon overstep their bounds in trying to crush the remaining liberties of the American people. There will be a huge reactionary counter-effort.

Fact #4) There are good people still within the government and especially the military who are loyal to the Constitution and despise the communist-influenced gang that now occupies the White House.

Fact #5) The government can and will stage false flag attacks to blame its enemies and centralize power. This is true throughout human history.

Fact #6) Something much larger than Sandy Hook is in the planning stages, I believe. Look for a radiological attack of some sort, such as a dirty bomb being set off in a major U.S. city by a rogue group working under Obama. This will be used to terrorize Americans and blame patriots, unleashing an all-out war against individual liberty in America.

America does buy large amounts of ammo ever year. Our police force, also goes through large amounts of ammo each year-think about it, all our police officers, sheriffs deputies, highway patrol, swat, they all practice on a regular basis. Does america likely buy more then it needs? yes probably. Is it hypocritical that they can buy large amounts of ammo, while limiting our guns? yes. Major conspiracy? probably not.

I agree, Patriot. The 'news' sites, like Natural News, make it sound as though this is something new; it's not. This has been going on for over two centuries. Notice that they can't pinpoint locations for storage or provide the sources of their inside info. Stuff like this is destructive to our society. We have enough verifiable problems; we should leave these C.T. sites in the dark....where they belong.

First off, you don't need millions of rounds of hollow-point ammunition for target practice. Secondly, this isn't CT, these purchases have been made since BHO took office and has been distributed to all the agencies in the cartoon. The following is a list of 41 places where ammo was distributed to SSA agencies.

funny, again, according to who, I have one link, the original, from natural news. while im not necessarily discrediting it, wheres the other sources? other then infowars, because infowars often does have C/T stuff, and those other 2 links you listed dont show anything. anyone can make the claim BHO is doing this and then list a bunch of different addresses. Big whoop. And in a years time, between 41 different locations? how many cops in those locations? 174,000 (which is far less then natural news estimate by the way) isnt that bad, they could easily go through that just in target practice. And if anything, the conflicting numbers of ammunition just go to show how much of a conspiracy theory this really is.

Natural news-1.6 billion of different types of ammo

Info wars: 174,000 of unmentioned.

interesting. one or both of them is wrong, because they both cant be right. . .

There's no conflict. The 174k is for the SSA, and the 1.6B is for DHS. If you are having trouble with the links I provided, I suggest you save the PDF instead of opening it from the website.

Maybe I'm just being dumb, but why would the SSA and the IRS need guns/ammunition for anyway?

Has anyone given any thought to the actual number of people who will have access to this ammunition?

When you start dividing it up, 1.6 billion is not that big a number.

The number itself is meaningless. If guns are bad, and you wish to take them away from people, then all guns are bad, no matter who possesses them and they should all be done away with. That would mean that if you are internally consistent in your belief that firearms should be done away with that if you believe that a private citizen in Kentucky should not be allowed to own a pistol, then a TSA agent in Florida does not need a handgun either, and a SS agent in Washington should not have one either. If one gun is bad, they are all bad. Gun control advocates are hypocrites and always have been. Because the root of their agenda has nothing to do with a firearm.

If you divide that between all federal employees, that's still 533 rounds per person. So, if you only count DHS, which would
DHS: 185,295 personnel which is about 8600 rounds per person. Or if you add up Federal Government employees that would use firearms and DHS you get about 1300 rounds per person per year. As the ammunition acquisitions go on for 4 years after the initial purchase.
