The covenant that was ended was “the covenant that was made with their fathers in the day when I (God) took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt;” It was the whole covenant that was replaced. – N0 more reward for keeping it, but the Laws remained, but not in stone.--- I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts;

Hebrews 8:7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second.

Hebrews 8:8 Because finding fault with them, He says: "Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah-

Hebrews 8:9 "not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they did not continue in My covenant, and I disregarded them, says the Lord.

Hebrews 8:10 "For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

Hebrews 8:11 "None of them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,' for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them.

Hebrews 8:12 "For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more."

Hebrews 8:13 In that He says, "A new covenant," He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.

You are required to keep the commandments, but that won’t get you into God’s Kingdom. There is no reward for keeping them, the covenant is over.

Matt 19:17 So He said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments."

Matt 19:18 He said to Him, "Which ones?" Jesus said, " 'You shall not murder,' 'You shall not commit adultery,' 'You shall not steal,' 'You shall not bear false witness,'

Matt 19:19 'Honor your father and your mother,' and, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' "

Matt 19:20 The young man said to Him, "All these things I have kept from my youth. What do I still lack?"

Matt 19:21 Jesus said to him, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me."

There are several covenants, or contracts, - You do this and I will do that. Christ came to end that covenant, but the laws were kept, -- “I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts;”

The Sabbath is a sign, between God and His people.

Eze 20:12 "Moreover I also gave them My Sabbaths, to be a sign between them and Me, that they might know that I am the Lord who sanctifies them.

About the only law people really want to break is the Sabbath. Maybe adultery and maybe stealing, and maybe lying. People are deceived into worshiping another gods.

About the Sabbath 7th. Day Gen. 2:2

Can we get out of context when we overlook about the Sabbath 7th.Day from the begining Genesis 2:2 ? but was that day set apart for man to fellowship with his maker for a particular reason? and was that day santified on a certain day of the week like Mon. -Sun. or was it from its origin on that 7th day like it says from Gen. 2:2 ? It is our belief that The Sabbath Day was and still is the 7th. day of GOD's creation of this universe on earth. Eventhough we are among different sequence of calendars for different nations. How would one discover how to keep the 7th. day Sabbath holy from all the rest of the days like it says in Exodus 20:8, Luke 4:16, Acts 17:2. surely Moses, Jesus, and the apostle Paul did not break the context of the holy scriptures. but are we suppose to do likewise or go about doing our own way shape, form, or fasion? Because some of us use to keep Sunday or on any day of the week or still do count from Sun. to Sun. (like we use to) until we had stuided through the different times of sequences to get to the full knowledge of the love of the truth by doing so inorder to come under certain scriptures rightly dividing the words of the truth II Tim. 2:15. Would there be a difference in the way that you would remember to keep the Sabbath Day Holy? or do you keep any or all days the same?

Looking at the above information, I would say that I myself must confess of what I can truly get out of the context of about the Sabbath 7th.Day from the beginning Genesis 2:2. As for my taking the Sabbath out to worship my Maker especially on that day.

Did the seventh day of Gen 2:2 ever end?

days 1-6 had an "evening" and a "morning", yet day 7 did not.

why is this?

Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.
