I was curious as to what you guys thought was the harp he would open his saying upon
Psalm 49:4 I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp.
Only because there are the harps of men (made by the hands of men) and those shown as having the harps of God. For example in revelation Rev 15:2 There are those having the harps (of God). These who sing not only the song of Moses (the things of old) but the song of the Lamb (the things which are new). After all when he would speak it says in Psalm 78:2 I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old. And again, in Psalm 49:4 I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp. And then we see those having the harps of God. As I am seeing it (in the sense of) expounding (or the singing of) those two songs. Almost as if the ear that hears (is given) even as the harp (of God) is given. Similar to a treasure (upon which) he would open his dark saying. Just as we have this treasure in earthen vessels ( even by the Spirit) through whom can bring out old things to us (as well as the new things) in that sense.
I don't know how someone else might make sense of this or to what they might compare, but given He would speak in parables uttering dark sayings of old and then open the same upon the harp. How would you understand the same, by what comparison, in other words.
That's my own question for the day. I have looked at this through many comparisons over the years and never just come out and just ask what others have thought when they read that there, so I thought I would just ask ya's.
