I was doing a little reading this morning and ran into this verse:
1 tim 2:15 But women will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety.
What do you make of this?
One commentator suggests that this is a counterpoint to Eve being deceived in the garden (the previous verse: 1 tim 2:14 and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor.) . Though she was deceived resulting ultimately in the fall, through childbearing they (and all) are saved, because of the birth of Christ. This seems like an interesting and reasonable interpretation to me, but it doesn't seem too obvious from the passage.
