Well, for all those who have been wondering, when, where and how obama would do in the internet. Here is your answer. He is working on it. Can he do anything at all that is good for this country or the people in it? Really? The bad thing is ....this does not even surprise me either. There is not much about him or his administration that does surprise me anymore. In fact, the only reason I even posted this is because there is a few of us who have been discussing it lately! So, here is the ariticle. What do you all think about this one? I personally don't like it, but, there again I have not liked anything this administration has done.

The U.S.A. has kept the internet free. If it is handed over to say, the UN, then say goodbye to freedom of speech. Let's possibly say goodbye to Worthy eventually.

Blessings Everyone...

When did the USA institute this monarchy with king obama on the throne?

He sure makes it difficult for me to pray for him-Kwik

What fascinates me is that people are actually so naive that they will believe anything that they read.   I find it so mildly amusing...Obama proposes raising taxes on the wealthy, he's A. Socialist B. Communist C. Marxist D. All of them...Reagan proposes raising taxes on the wealthy...silence. He's giving away all our money...where is that?  Oh yes, Obama the king...well here is a clue we have a "do nothing congress" (actually record breaking) and if one will take the time they will find that the President does not have all authority.  (Probably why congress approval ratings are at ground level)  So yes, the President is like the quarterback in football praised when he wins blamed when he loses...forget about the other players on the team.

I would suggest that instead of taking "stories" at face value one checks with more reliable sources.  Newsbusters ...next they will tell us that Bat Boy is an Obama agent, and the fox news will do endless follow-ups!

Certainly there are occasions when the truth is offensive. Check your facts...oh, right it is all the "democratic" senate fault, the house has been working very hard to move this country forward...well, in any direction.

As I mentioned the truth can be offensive. As to the OP and the false story regarding Obama and the internet:

http://mediamatters.org/research/2014/03/15/fox-news-falsely-claims-obama-is-giving-the-int/198502

When you have the time look up "cloture" it would be worth a look.

Reagan proposed to increase taxes on the wealthy...
note this is actually Ronald Reagan.

Note again the reference to Alan Simpson...a republican.

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2013/03/14/1194062/-10-reasons-why-Ronald-Reagan-would-be-persona-non-grata-at-CPAC-2013#two

I think that I will take the word of the Treasury Official under Reagan.

“Noah quotes former White House and Treasury official Bruce Bartlett, who served under Reagan and wrote a paper last year on "Reagan's Forgotten Tax Record," demonstrating beyond any doubt that the GOP icon raised taxes at least 10 times during his two terms as president and also during his governorship of California. In that paper, Bartlett destroys the mythology of Reagan, which has been made concrete by the right-wing activist and lobbyist Grover Norquist with the "anti-tax" pledge signed by most Republican politicians.”

if anyone thinks giving up oversight of the company that assigns domains is not against this country's best intetests, from my personal view they are either naive ignorant or stupid.

whether we call it giving the internet away or something else isn't really important.

actually it may not be. That story, did indeed say the internet, was given to a world company. They try to say it wasn't Obama, that it was something that was invisioned from the start. Now, that part maybe true-that may have been something that was invisioned from before Obama, but it doesnt mean Obama didn't push for it, and it is still giving the internet away. a rose by any other name is still a rose. And, if Fox news was accurate-of course the rest of the media is going to call fox news a liar. Fox news is fairly liberal and has a twist to it, but they seem to be the only major news outlet that isnt controlled by the government and has the backbone to tell them to back off, so yes everyone is going to call them a liar. I think Im going to stand with fox news on this one-they are giving the internet away, and Obama had at the very least a big say in the timing of it.

I get my info from a variety of sources and Fox News is rarely one of them. I'm British, we don't get Fox News. I don't trust 'Liberal' news coverage though. That's just me.

I'll take Fox news over any other new agency, even my local stations. You know..... We report you decide, Fair and Balanced.  You just have to use your noggin and weigh information out.  One size does not fit all.  :lightbulb2:

The added sanction was that no government should have control...and with that I agree.  I think it is often typical American arrogance that fosters such reaction...this says it all:

The function has been subcontracted since 1998 to the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, or Icann, an international nonprofit organization, with the expectation that the United States would eventually step back from its role.

I would seldom stand with fox news...so I think I will pass on their respondents exaggerated bashing of Obama...seems to be a delightful Christian attribute also.

Yes, that's right. Censorship of criticism of Islam is the one I fear the most.

the problem is, its a lie-its saying no government should have control, but the thing is, someone has to have control. the US is a sovereign nation, I think it should remain in control of its internet no other power government or otherwise should have control of our internet. period.

Notice, I never said Fox news was perfect, I said they wernt afraid to speak their minds. yes they may exaggerate some of Obamas actions, however, I would rather deal with that then blindly ignoring and/or covering up Obama and his actions like CNN, CBS, ABC, well, the list goes on and on. Fox, while they do clearly have an agenda, at least understands what "free press is" in that they refuse to let obama dictate to them how to tell the news. Realistically though, its really hard to exaggerate anything about obama, and even if someone did, he makes it so easy to believe. He should have been thrown in jail eons ago for treason.

Well, that would be about the only thing this do-nothing house of reps could possibly move on.  However, what would the charges be?  On the other hand maybe the entire congress could be jailed for gross impotence, and then hopefully the tea party will go the way of the moral majority...yes, lot of good possibilities....
