Bookmark the permalink. God’s Assignment: Teach Your Children His Word

All Saints Day

Deuteronomy 6, verse 4, begins, “Hear” which calls God’s people to ‘hear and do.’ This begins the Shema, which Jesus and his disciples would have recited morning and evening. We are called to hear and do the Great Commandment, to love the LORD our God with all our heart and with all our soul [life] and with all our strength.

And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.  You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.  You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates….

Now, who is the “you” who is to teach the children God’s commands? It is not the preacher; it is not the Sunday School; it is not the youth pastor. It is those who sit in the house, who go to bed there and wake up there, it is the parents of the children. ... cont. http://textsincontex...ldren-his-word/

I would like to see the Body of Christ come together as one. Our guideline must be the Word of God and it rightly divided. Of the 20 some Bible versions I have, I find the KJV to have the most depth.

True enough brother! The parents are the ones truly responsible in raising up there children in the light of the Lord. Others can help, but it is the parent/parents the children see and learn from initially.

Many other things can hinder too now, and parents again need to be there to prayerfully point them in the right way, God's Way! :)

Proverbs 9:10New International Version (NIV)

10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

Why would'nt any Christian parent not want Wisdom & Understanding for their very own children? Yes,God's Word gives parents clear instruction that it is our responsibility to teach our children in the Way of the Lord..................everything begins at home and the best way to teach is to lead by example....Praise the Lord & Glorify God in ALL things!                                                                         With love-in Christ,Kwik
