Has formatting in post been determined a bad thing?

Would you explain what you mean by "formatting in posts"?

You know, bold, Italics, underline, font size, font type, font color.

I personally think it "depends" on how it is used...

I think some folks use the colors because they either can't or don't know how to  use the quote function.

some posts are simply confusing because of the lack of using the quote system.

and then there is the all caps person who is just clueless...

Is it a bad thing....      sometimes.....  but I don't think one could/ should call it "evil".

Forget the evil part, not serious, just asking where are they, I don't see them in my settings or in new post.

If it's necessary to make things clearer then I can't see what's wrong with it. We use paragraphs to spread things out and make it easier on the eye and we use punctuation marks to break up what we are saying. Font colours can be used to highlight key points.

Just remember that there is an online etiquette though. For example, things written entirely in capitals look AS IF YOU ARE SHOUTING!

It also depend on whether you are on a tablet, pad or some other device not all the options are available that are seen on the computer. Eg. Though I try to use a font other than caps I do not have access to what is seen on the top of a post on the computer so if I am not using a computer I may use caps instead . That does not mean I am shouting. If you understand what I am saying.

I think using caps for many people is because they have a hard time reading what they write. Also, I think it is a generational thing. A lot of people I love and respect write with ALL CAPPS. They don't mean anything rude by it.

As far as formatting text I typically try to differentiate between Scripture, a quote, etc. If people aren't familiar with the formatting system they might use colors to differentiate between what they are quoting and what their post is.

I agree too it depends how you are viewing Worthy. On a mobile phone or iPad some of the formatting might not work.

Is it evil? No. But it can be annoying or frustrating to people who are familiar with online discussions and etiquette... Lol. :)

My 2 cents.

God bless,
GE

I searched for a fix, none on the first page.

The "evil" thing, mistake, don't know where that came from.

When I come here, I run my browser magnification at 150%.....   or you can change your monitor resolution to a lower setting when here.

I use Firefox and it's relatively easy to set the magnification higher.

There Is A "Switch" At The Upper Right Of Your Reply That Has To Be Set Correctly

Mine Is In The Down Position

Also Windows IE Browser Will Not Allow The Quote Feature And The Smiley Faces, etc To Run

So I Use Firefox Or Google Chrome When On Worthy

On Firefox Click On Triple Bar At The Top Left Of Your Browser And Than Click On The + To Enlarge Or The - To Shrink

On Windows IE Hold Down Both The Shift Key And The Ctrl Key And Then Press The + Until You Have The Size Where You Like It. Do The Same Thing Except Press The - Key To Shrink The Text
