My favorite is Baseball. I love to coach and both my boys are really good. We play 2 seasons, regular and allstar. BUT at the end of that, football begins and I'm watching as much as I can.

The only thing I know about cricket is that they are good to fish with! And THAT is what I miss most...fishing! We sold our bass boat right after our miracle baby was born so we could buy a home. We soon hope that the Lord will make a way to purchase another. Why do I like to fish? It is one of the most precious times I've ever spent in communion with the Lord...and with my husband!!! Now, we have another family member to take along and it will be SUCH a joy!!! But for all the sunrises and sunsets I've watched while trolling along fishing and all the deep intimate talks I've had with both my Daddy in Heaven and my hubby, well it is just something that makes fishing very, very, very, very, did I say very?, special!!! And THEN...you get that bump on the line, set that hook, and catch that big bass!!! Woohooo!!!!!!! What fun!!! When I go fishing out there on that lake, pond, reservoir, or wherever, in that boat away from the world, phones, computers, demands of life? I am with those I value and love most...Jesus and my family. :D And He not only makes it special and intimate...He makes it FUN!!! Man, is God good or WHAT?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :oww:

Love to you through our Jesus and I have to say that I haven't thought about how my favorite sport has made me feel in a long time. I might not have that boat to go experience it in right now, but I have my memories and in those thoughts and reminiscing? I can go fishing just anytime!!! Thank you sooooooo much!!!! You have really blessed me with your post!!! Thank you!

I LOVE to watch FOOTBALL and I like to play golf and tennis. I'm not much into watching baseball. All I know is I love when fall rolls around and it's football season. The most cozy time of the year!

I like to fish, watch and or listen to baseball, watch football, but most of all, I love to watch stock car races. I love the local dirt track and the Big Boys of NASCAR. Looking forward to attending the CocaCola 600 this year. YEAH!!!!!

I love football - it is so fun to watch. No doubt about it being my favorite, but as a backup I do enjoy watching basketball as well - especially during the playoffs.

Mine would have to be SURFING! :oww: .. Haven't done it in a while but none the less, it's one of my fav ones! .... Other than that I love all the extreme sports - I guess you can call skydiving a sport aye?

On the more mellow note, I love tennis and volleyball (use to be the captian in highschool -wow that was back in the days!) ... Oh and swimming. Rugby is great too - don't get to play it much though. But if I had the choice to watch Rugby or football (american) I would go for Rugby - so much more of a mans game! :x:

Obviously, my favorite is second-guessing and providing expert commentary/analysis of sports. As you all know, my new "John Whalen's Sports Almanac, Sports Commentary, and Crop/Farm Report" is due out soon.

John "who we look to when we want the scoop on Sports" Whalen

PS The Braves, Red Sox, and Yankees and Sooners are still overrated. Take the Cardinals in baseball(I tend to "go out on a limb" on many of my expert calls)

"Da Blues" are also overrated. They need Red Berensen, Noel Picard, Ab McDonald, Glenn Hall, Jimmy Roberts back.

My favorite sport is Nascar and my favorite driver is Bobby Labonte. My favorite racing team is Joe Gibbs racing. Joe Gibbs is a very Godly man and he has a very powerful ministry through his racing team.....

Football is my Favorite :)

Here is a nice little sports Comparison by Gearge Carlin, (don't worry mods its clean :P)

Baseball is different from any other sport, very different. For instance, in most sports you score points or goals; in baseball you score runs. In most sports the ball, or object, is put in play by the offensive team; in baseball the defensive team puts the ball in play, and only the defense is allowed to touch the ball. In fact, in baseball if an offensive player touches the ball intentionally, he's out; sometimes unintentionally, he's out.

Also: in football, basketball, soccer, volleyball, and all sports played with a ball, you score with the ball and in baseball the ball prevents you from scoring.

In most sports the team is run by a coach; in baseball the team is run by a manager. And only in baseball does the manager or coach wear the same clothing the players do. If you'd ever seen John Madden in his Oakland Raiders uniform, you'd know the reason for this custom.

Now, I've mentioned football. Baseball & football are the two most popular spectator sports in this country. And as such, it seems they ought to be able to tell us something about ourselves and our values.

I enjoy comparing baseball and football:

Baseball is a nineteenth-century pastoral game.
Football is a twentieth-century technological struggle.

Baseball is played on a diamond, in a park. The baseball park!
Football is played on a gridiron, in a stadium, sometimes called Soldier Field or War Memorial Stadium.

Baseball begins in the spring, the season of new life.
Football begins in the fall, when everything's dying.

In football you wear a helmet.
In baseball you wear a cap.

Football is concerned with downs - what down is it?
Baseball is concerned with ups - who's up?

In football you receive a penalty.
In baseball you make an error.

In football the specialist comes in to kick.
In baseball the specialist comes in to relieve somebody.

Football has hitting, clipping, spearing, piling on, personal fouls, late hitting and unnecessary roughness.
Baseball has the sacrifice.

Football is played in any kind of weather: rain, snow, sleet, hail, fog...
In baseball, if it rains, we don't go out to play.

Baseball has the seventh inning stretch.
Football has the two minute warning.

Baseball has no time limit: we don't know when it's gonna end - might have extra innings.
Football is rigidly timed, and it will end even if we've got to go to sudden death.

In baseball, during the game, in the stands, there's kind of a picnic feeling; emotions may run high or low, but there's not too much unpleasantness.
In football, during the game in the stands, you can be sure that at least twenty-seven times you're capable of taking the life of a fellow human being.

And finally, the objectives of the two games are completely different:

In football the object is for the quarterback, also known as the field general, to be on target with his aerial assault, riddling the defense by hitting his receivers with deadly accuracy in spite of the blitz, even if he has to use shotgun. With short bullet passes and long bombs, he marches his troops into enemy territory, balancing this aerial assault with a sustained ground attack that punches holes in the forward wall of the enemy's defensive line.

In baseball the object is to go home! And to be safe! - I hope I'll be safe at home!
