blessings brothers and sisters in Christ,
Occasionally there maybe a time when there is no admin present in chat. it does not happen often but it does happen. thought i would post some ideas for when a troll ( someone who is there just to cause trouble swear post bad stuff et) is in chat and at that time there are no admins present. first and most importantly pray for their souls they are lost -damned to hell on their current path. second if you can not abide by their language use the ignore button ( they will see what you type but you will not see what they type)and continue praising the Lord or sharing Bible verse or testifying. (often when they do not get any reaction but the love of the Lord they may leave on their own) third post here so admin can see you need help . these are just some of my ideas ( and i am only speaking for myself lol). use the ones you find helpful ignore the rest. love your sister in Christ, Rebekah David |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/emot-hug.gif) you all do a grand job as mods, your right ignore or share the gospel, (IMG:style_emoticons/default/emot-hug.gif) All good! I would add: Do not feed them the junk food they came for. When they come to swear, or accuse you of following myths, or tell you about ebolution etc, or even ask explain why you believe, do not act in a way that gives them any excuse to criticise them. Don't get angry, don't call them names, don't get sucked into an argument that they control. Try treating them with more respect than they have a right to expect, more patience than they expect, and turn topics of their choosing, towards topics that they need. Evolution is not a topic upon which salvation rests, so try to maneuver the discussion in that direction. As often as not, they can be calmed down and forget why they came, and actually have a decent conversation. For those who refuse to behave respectfully, just remember to pray for them and the situation, and do not react in an un-Christianlike fashion, and yes, the ignore button can be helpful. When a stubborn troll comes in, and no one is responding to the buttons he is trying to push, he will go away or change behavior, because he is not being rewarded with junk food. Give them meat, or leave them hungry. |

Great advice, Omega - I think the admins in chat are just the best!! They do a wonderful job of guiding and helping those who need the help and prayer. They are protective when they see something ugly coming down. I will use that ignore button more often in the future - I wish I had one in real life!!! When a stubborn troll comes in, and no one is responding to the buttons he is trying to push, he will go away or change behavior, because he is not being rewarded with junk food. Give them meat, or leave them hungry. I think it is great to learn how to maneuver the discussion to Christ. This is a learned skill, as much as the moving by the Holy Spirit from within. Practice trying to change the subject before you choose to ignore the chatter. This will become very valuable when you are talking to people in general. This is done a little at a time and not a slam dunk change. Take little steps away from their topic and toward Christ by listening to what they are saying and giving them a Christian answer. Remember, love goes a long way! Proverbs 15:1 A soft answer turns away wrath, But a harsh word stirs up anger. |
