CHRIST THE CENTRE OF THE BIBLE. Acts.
ACTS - LORD OF ALL.
When the Lord ascended to the right hand of the Father He sent His Holy Spirit to give salvation to every race and bring together an entirely new group - the Body of Christ. Thus under the Lord`s sovereign administration in the power of the Spirit, each race receives salvation.
Ham - Ethiopian eunuch, (Acts 8: 26 - 40)
Shem - Paul of Tarsus (Acts 9: 1 -31)
Japheth - Cornelius the Roman centurion. (Acts 10:24 - 48)
From Shem, Ham and Japheth the seventy nations arose that are recorded in Genesis 10. Cornelius responded to Peter with spiritual insight, declaring, `He is Lord of all.` (Acts 10: 36)
The believers then came together from house to house, encouraging each other, sharing possessions and learning of the Lord.
`And they continued steadfastly in the apostle`s doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers..... Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need.
So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to them daily those who were being saved.` (Acts 2: 42 - 47)
The Lord through the power of the Holy Spirit is shown to be the administrator of this new group - the Body of Christ. In the new group at Antioch we see how the Spirit directed them.
`Now in the church that was at Antioch, there were certain prophets and teachers; Barnabas, Simeon...Lucius...Manaen...and Saul. As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Now separate for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” (Acts 13: 1 & 2)
Later we are shown how the Apostle Paul and others with him, are directed of the Spirit to places and people throughout their missionary journeys.
`...and a vision appeared to Paul in the night. A man of Macedonia stood and pleaded with him saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” ....we...concluded that the Lord had called us to preach the gospel to them.` (Acts 16: 6 - 10)
Then over many years we see that the Apostle Paul reveals God`s full purposes to the believers.
`For I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God.` (Acts 20: 27)
