2. God`s Eternal Purposes. Overview.

OVERVIEW

`God.... purposed in Himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, which are in heaven and which are on earth – in Him,...` (Eph. 1: 9 & 10)

Throughout God`s word we read how God gave different people understanding of His great eternal purposes. These are centred in Christ, and His rulership of God`s great kingdom.

We know that even though God made all things `good,` it was still vulnerable.  Thus sin entered and rebellion followed. Rulership from the 3rd heaven and right throughout God`s great kingdom became corrupt.

Although God gave angels and man an opportunity to rule under Him, they went their own way and were found wanting - all unworthy to rule with power and authority in God`s great kingdom.

Thus we see that it is the Son of God who enters the world, not as a dictator, but humbly, exhibiting God`s character. We see His amazing authority that was used only for righteousness, but withheld when He gave His life a sacrifice for sin.

He is the One found worthy to be given the highest position - supreme Ruler of God`s great kingdom with every realm under His dominion - the 3rd heaven, the Universal realm and the earth.

It is Christ who sets about to restore God`s authority in every realm, a step at a time, till finally God is `all in all.`

Let us now look at -

- God`s great Kingdom - the 3 realms.

- How corruption entered every created realm.

- How Christ brings restoration of all authority in every realm under God.

I believe that God's 'eternal purpose' was/is to procreate. That 'eternal purpose' was before the realms.

God wanted to 'share' being. To share existence. His Nature exhibits 'Fatherhood'. Loving Fatherhood and all this entails.

I believe this is correct. He already had the 'sons of God' his elohim spirit kids (the good ones) and he wanted humans as well in a blended family of heavenly and earthly Eden dwellers.

Perhaps---but the 'many brethren' sons of God have the 'Divine Nature'. I suspect this may have been what ticked Lucifer off when he got wind of the Plan.

Might have been. That idea was in the second temple writings. But Yeshua now is both human and divine. He was just like this when He ascended. We shall be just like Him in the end.

Exactly! I think the point is that we will be at the top of the heap.

Certainly higher than the current occupants, save maybe a couple. We (like HIm) have been made a little lower than the angels, but unlike Him (Yeshua) we will not suffer death like He did.

We will be introduced in God's Throne Room with millions of witnesses,  and He will call us brothers... presenting us to the One That Sits on the Throne, The Ancient of Days. And as Yeshua shares His Father's throne, so we will share His.

Hi mabel,

That`s great. And yes I believe the more we get to know the Father and Jesus we will become more confident to trust them.
