The Tribulation Calendar - The Time of Mourning & the Temple Cleansed.

THE TIME OF MOURNING.

The Lord then goes into Jerusalem to reveal Himself to the people of Israel.

`The Lord will save the tents of Judah first, so that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem shall not be greater than that of Judah.` (Zech. 12: 7)

The Lord then anoints their eyes to recognise who He is, their Messiah.

`And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication: then they will look on me whom they have pierced; they will mourn for Him as one mourns for His only son and grieve for Him as one grieves for a first-born.`  (Zech. 12: 10)

This is the month of Tevet, the time that Israel commemorates when Jerusalem was surrounded by the Babylonians. It is a time of great mourning and repentance.

God had continually warned Israel about the impending destruction of Jerusalem and the Holy Temple if they didn`t mend their ways. But they derided the holy men as bearers of `false prophecies of doom.`

Then it finally happened that the Babylonians laid siege to Jerusalem (in the past) and finally at the end of the Tribulation the world`s armies surrounded them too.

Thus the people of Israel go into mourning, having realised that their nation had rejected their Messiah over the centuries. The whole month of Tevet is one of mourning.

THE CLEANSING OF THE TEMPLE.

Then on the last day of the month the Jews cleanse the sanctuary of the temple from the abomination of desolation, the desecration of the altar in the Holy Place. The priests will perform cleansing for themselves and for the vessels that are used.

`How long will the vision concerning the daily sacrifices and the transgression of desolation, the giving of both the sanctuary and the host to be trampled underfoot? And he said to me, “For 2,300 days, (evening-mornings); then the sanctuary SHALL BE CLEANSED.`  (Dan. 8: 13 & 14)

Thank you Marilyn.  I shall read it all again, re-acquainting myself with this, as I consider it very important that we know what the order and timelines are, in order to share with others.

Hi SisterActs2,

Yes, as I was studying it with regard to the main events it really struck me how it all revolved around the Temple, (duh) of course. Then hunted for pics and aren`t they just so helpful.

Thanks for the great encouragement sis, Marilyn.

BTW I will show how I did my calculations a step at a time, and finally I will summarise it all with pics and writing, so you can have it in a nutshell.

now it occurs to me that i am so confused by all the trib this that and the other what view is it that you hold Marilyn? and does holding a particular view alter the calculations?

Hi mabel,

I can feel for you as it can seem all so confusing. As we are getting to the `sticky end` (if you know what I mean) then this would be a very, very controversial subject. Now I hold to the pre-trib, view, that the Body of Christ (us) will be `caught away` to our eternal home BEFORE God brings His further chastisement on Israel & His wrath upon the rebellious nations of the world.

What I am presenting in this series is really just an overview of what nearly everyone believes. The main difference people believe is WHEN we go, not if. Those who believe in the post trib, view make the error (I believe) of thinking what Jesus says to Israel about their future, (in the gospels) is about us, when it is not.

Hope that helps, Marilyn.

Mabel, if you read God`s word with those 3 groups in mind, then God`s word become quite clear.

1. The Body of Christ, (us)

2. Israel,

3. The Nations, (Gentiles)

People either lump us all together, or put us with Israel, or the nations, and thus end up in the eschatological `soup.` :D
