About This Club

I am on the Lords side , which side are you? And why?

  1. What's new in this club
  2. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea. Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah. There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.
  3. For Gods love does not change but remains consistent. (James 1:17). Yes as we face trials and temptations we must cleave to God to help us through the storm. Although we may lose people we love along the way we remain in control when we come to god through prayer.
  4. Yes the holy temple of christ is a safe stronghold. We are always safe in the lords eyes through faith.
  5. I am on the Lord's side when I agree with Him against myself. Oh, to be an overcomer like Job, "Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him." A brother commented, "Will I hold to His hand even when it appears He is my enemy? Do I love Him for what I can get, or for Who He is"?
  6. I am on the Lord's side because He first loved me. "Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins." 1 John 4:10 "We love him, because he first loved us" 1 John 4:19
  7. Shabbat shalom, angels4u. No, I'm afraid one doesn't "march to Tsiyown" from Tampa, Florida. We can either fly on a plane or take a ship there, but one must be on the right continent to "march to Tsiyown." "Zion" or "Tsiyown" is a mountain range in Israel, in the Jerusalem area. Wikipedia says: But, you don't want to be part of the "armies that march against Jerusalem," do you? Zechariah 12:2, 8-9 (KJV) 2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. ... 8 In that day shall the LORD defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the LORD before them. 9 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. However, we also know the other Scriptures that speak well of Tsiyown: Joel 2:12-3:21 (KJV) 12 Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: 13 And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil. 14 Who knoweth if he will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the LORD your God? 15 Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly: 16 Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet. 17 Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God? 18 Then will the LORD be jealous for his land, and pity his people. 19 Yea, the LORD will answer and say unto his people, Behold, I will send you corn, and wine, and oil, and ye shall be satisfied therewith: and I will no more make you a reproach among the heathen: 20 But I will remove far off from you the northern army, and will drive him into a land barren and desolate, with his face toward the east sea, and his hinder part toward the utmost sea, and his stink shall come up, and his ill savour shall come up, because he hath done great things. 21 Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the LORD will do great things. 22 Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures of the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth her fruit, the fig tree and the vine do yield their strength. 23 Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month. 24 And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the fats shall overflow with wine and oil. 25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. 26 And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed. 27 And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed. 28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: 29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit. 30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. 31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come. 32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call. 3:1 For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem, 2 I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land. 3 And they have cast lots for my people; and have given a boy for an harlot, and sold a girl for wine, that they might drink. 4 Yea, and what have ye to do with me, O Tyre, and Zidon, and all the coasts of Palestine (Philistia)? will ye render me a recompence? and if ye recompense me, swiftly and speedily will I return your recompence upon your own head; 5 Because ye have taken my silver and my gold, and have carried into your temples my goodly pleasant things: 6 The children also of Judah and the children of Jerusalem have ye sold unto the Grecians, that ye might remove them far from their border. 7 Behold, I will raise them out of the place whither ye have sold them, and will return your recompence upon your own head: 8 And I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the children of Judah, and they shall sell them to the Sabeans, to a people far off: for the LORD hath spoken it. 9 Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up: 10 Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong. 11 Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and gather yourselves together round about: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, O LORD. 12 Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the heathen round about. 13 Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness is great. 14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision. 15 The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining. 16 The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel. 17 So shall ye know that I am the LORD your God dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass through her any more. 18 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the mountains shall drop down new wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the rivers of Judah shall flow with waters, and a fountain shall come forth of the house of the LORD, and shall water the valley of Shittim. 19 Egypt shall be a desolation, and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, for the violence against the children of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land. 20 But Judah shall dwell for ever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation. 21 For I will cleanse their blood that I have not cleansed: for the LORD dwelleth in Zion. And, Hebrews 12:18-24 (KJV) 18 For ye are not come unto the mount (Sinai) that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest, 19 And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more: 20 (For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart: 21 And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:) 22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, 23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, 24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel. And, Romans 11:25-32 (KJV) 25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. 26 And so all Israel shall be saved (delivered; rescued): as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: 27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins. 28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes. 29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. 30 For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief: 31 Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy. 32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all. And, Isaiah 2:1-5 (KJV) 1 The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. 2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD'S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. 3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. 4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. 5 O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the LORD. These are not passages about "going to heaven"; they are about the LITERAL mount Tsiyown in Yerushalayim, Yisra'el (Mount Zion in Jerusalem, Israel). The exceptions are when the author of Hebrews and Isaiah look BEYOND the Millennium and see the time when the mountain and the city are confused. For the Mount Tsiyown WILL BE the Great City, the New Jerusalem, for what is a city that is 1,379.8687 miles high if not a "mountain?!" That's MUCH higher than the "mere" 5.5 miles of Mount Everest! Sorry to sound a little "preachy," but we must grasp the CONCRETE REALITY that's coming, both in the Millennium when Yeshua` haMelekh Yisra'el (Jesus the King of Israel) is reigning in Yerushalayim on Mount Tsiyown and in the New Earth when the New Jerusalem - Yerushalayim haChadashah - descends and lands and is established in the tops of the mountains forever! It's not a myth or fiction or an analogy; what's coming is the REAL THING!
  8. Shabbat shalom, Benevolent. Realize that it's not about "us" but about YHWH our God! What are "hardships" in this life compared to the wonders we will experience in the New Earth? Even if we lived to be 100 years old with physical problems and pain the whole time, what is that compared to 100,000,000 years of joy and contentment, no more pain, or death, or crying? And, even after 100 MILLION years, that time is not even a drop in a bucket compared to eternity! One should look THROUGH any pain one might be experiencing and see our Lord Yeshua`s suffering for us! He ENDURED the cross, DESPISING the shame, focusing on the future glory He would have! If one's troubles are financial, what is that compared to YHWH who owns the cattle on every grazing hill?! (Some read "on a thousand hills," but the word for a "thousand," "alef" [the first letter of the Hebrew alefbet] means "bull," and the passage could actually mean, "on every hill for grazing cattle!") He CREATED every atom of gold, silver, and platinum on this earth! He CREATED the carbon in every crystal of diamond He formed in this earth! I like the story of the guy who thought he could buy his way into the Kingdom. He took all he owned and converted it to gold. Then, he melted down all the gold into bricks and packed it all for his journey. When he got to the pearly gate, he presented his bricks as payment for entry. The angel at the gate scratched his head and said, "What do we need pavement for?" Revelation 21:21 (KJV) 21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass. When we pray, we shouldn't just be asking for things or wealth or wellness or healing; we should be talking to our God! He doesn't want your things; He wants YOU! He wants YOUR TIME! He wants YOUR LOVE! I really like what James Dobson said about children: 'Children spell "love" "T-I-M-E!"' Children don't crave the things you can buy them at Christmas as much as they crave the TIME you can spend with them! Guess who instilled that need in children? God is the SAME WAY! He doesn't want your things; He wants YOU! Micah 6:7-8 (KJV) 7 Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? 8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but (1) to do justly, and (2) to love mercy, and (3) to walk humbly with thy God? This passage reminds me of Chanowkh, Adam's great, great, great, great grandson: Genesis 5:21-24 (KJV) 21 And Enoch (Chanowkh) lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah: 22 And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters: 23 And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years: 24 And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him. To "stay on the LORD'S side," draw closer to HIM! James 4:7-10 (KJV) 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. 9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
  9. @angels4uHi angels. Just found this topic of yours now. You know I write poems, right? Well-your question led to the following lines popping into my head so I wanted to share this with you. It expresses how I feel (due to my mom's fragile situation, health issues etc.) I jotted it down now. (I'll later on post it in the Songs of Praise Poetry Club.) But I wanted to put it here for you, since you helped inspire it. God bless you. Keep Marching To Zion My boots are growing heavy and I find I'm growing weak But Zion lies ahead now so God's pathway there I'll seek. He has placed me in His Army though I often question why I must 'fight the good fight' daily and remain true till I die. A soldier shouldn't entangle with civilian frivolity though the world is always beckoning, it's my General I must see Keep my eyes upon His leading till this battle has been won My heart is fixed on Zion so I must keep pressing on
  10. I am on the Lord's side because He is the only true stability in an ever changing world. I wrote a poem on 9-25-18 that expresses what I mean. It is called "Only God Remains The Same." September 25, 2018 Written from a heavy heart as my mom faces yet another medical crisis... Only God Remains The Same No matter how we do our part To carefully prepare There will always be those things That catch us unaware Hold on loosely to this world And everything that's in it Unexpected circumstances change life in a minute Trials we can't control will come And leave us hurt and frail Friends will sometimes let us down For sinful humans fail Jesus Christ will be our Rock Amidst life's shifting sands So when we trust in Him alone We're in the best of hands Yesterday, today, forever Jesus is the same In our storms He's our strong tower We run into His Name Only God remains the same With every changing tide How we need to have Him near And in His love abide! "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." Hebrews 13:8 "The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run into it and are safe." Proverbs 18:10
  11. God bless you, Frances. I'm glad you were touched by the quote.
  12. Turtletwo. Love your quote by Tozer also. Love to you sister in christ.
  13. Me too. He is so easy to love. "We love him, because he first loved us." 1 John 4:19 “The cross is the lightning rod of grace that short-circuits God’s wrath to Christ so that only the light of His love remains for believers.” ~ A. W. Tozer
  14. I am on the Lord's side because of God's love and Grace. Praise God!
  15. A huge topic which might be better addressed under ‘theology’. However if you really want a scholarly response I would suggest the works of Norman Geisler and RC Sproul. They represent the heavy hitters of the Calvinist and Armenian persuasions.
  16. Interesting thought. Could you please elaborate on this? Maybe give an example ( a "for instance.") or two? Thanks.
  17. Take your sandal off, as in wherever you are, recognize it is God who is sovereign over all? I often wonder if I judge a victory or defeat with the same criteria that God does. Does God see what I view as a defeat as a victory?
  18. Who leads you into victory? Then the Commander of the LORD's army said to Joshua, 'Take your sandal off your foot, for the place where you stand is holy.' And Joshua did so." HE LEADS US INTO VICTORY June 25, 2018 Prior to the Battle of Jericho, which really was no battle at all, there had to be a meeting with the Commander. In a similar manner, before we as Christians can succeed at any task that God has placed before us, we must seek His direction on what He would desire of us. Every day Jesus desires to lead you and me in the way that we should go. Sometimes the command will be to advance into the midst of the firestorm. At other times, He will command us to stand still and wait while He prepares the way. However, there are those special times when He plans to go before us, leading the battle array while we simply watch His deliverance materialize before our eyes. Joshua was a great leader, but being a great leader presupposes that you are first a great follower. The Lord will never lead you into defeat, but always into victory. Whenever you suffer any setback, you can be sure it was due to the fact that you failed at following Him well. As the great example of Joshua from ancient days is shown, it is good to remember that we as Christians should always be worshipful during warfare because we are constantly on holy ground as we continue to walk with Him. - Pastor Jack Hibbs
  19. "For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God." 1 Cor 1:18 The gospel flies in the face of the status quo and what is trending at the moment. Popularity and fitting in is really important to the world. They often look upon you as an embarrassment. In my early days with the Lord, I was called a Jesus freak at public school. Another comeback with those not on the Lord's side is, "Well-that's good for you, but it's not for me. " It's as if they almost view God as a mere hobby that they happen to not take an interest in. Anyone else run into this response in their personal encounters with the unsaved?
  20. From early in our marriage, my husband and I have had a favourite verse - Josh. 24:15 ..."................ choose for yourselves today whom you will serve:....... but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.". We have, of course, had many encounters with those who are not on the Lord's side. We pray that God will give us the words to say in season and out of season, that they may be able to believe.
  21. We're so blessed to have forums such as these, where discrimination and prejudice is discouraged. Easter Sunday coincded with April the 1st, and there's those who thought it ok mock our beliefs. Now, as an aspiring actor, I used a modelling website to assatain some portfolio images. However, no suprise here, there was one member who thought it humorous to claim his rejection of his profession in favour of our Lord. This was his April Fools joke. However, his post have others inspiration to share their dislike towards our faith, some quite explicitly slanderous. I let it go for two days, hoping that it would end, as, afterall, it was now the 3rd. So action had to be taken. I explained to the forum admin that this article was prejudistic and that some members were displaying hate towards our faith. This was met by indifference. I furthered by explaining how, if the joke had been one of gender, that as this has a strong following in the performing arts industry, that the repercussions would be great and that they would undoubtedly have removed the article. I also posted on the article, plainly stating that the joke(?) was over and to have a little respect. The author of the article responded by stating that it was his "freedom of speech" and that if I don't like the article, then I shouldn't get involved. It's amazing how, without even stating whether you're a Christian or not, that any defence is met by hostility. Well, that's me letting off some steam (possibly a small bubble or two)
  22. There is one question I need to ask here, the creation of man and devil, is it the will of God? And if Yes... ?
  23. Hi Benevolent, Good question, thanks. The above answers of the Church - full of Faith - are also all right. Yet, it depends. On what? Probably, on how we manage to use the abovenamed Scriptures in our actual circumstances and conditions. For, as one Pastor rightly said, the devil was likened to a fisherman which had a proper bait for every fish - a temptation for each of us. Common sense, compromise, mammon, fear, pride, lust - you pick it for yourself. Add to that the well-known war-rule "don't underestimate your enemy." Sounds pessimistic? Doesn't matter. My point is, stay vigilant. May 1John 5:18 teaches us to be one step ahead of the evil one. GOD bless you. Igor
  24. Shalom, my Brothers & Sisters in Christ Jesus, I encountered quite unfriendly unbelievers too, even recently when had entered their atheistic websites to pick up some new questions for my Q & A book (see the address below.) You may have a look at the articles 254-282. Their every question to Believers is like a snake, isn't it? I politely introduced myself and my sites to them, promised to answer their 10 "chosen" questions (each site). The strange thing is that right thereafter I found myself busy to tighten up the security system, for a couple of spammers dropped by to discharge their porno-dung right into my blog. Yea, that's how we've got to follow the Great Commission of Christ... GOD bless you. Igor http://igor.worthyofpraise.org
