  1. Past hour
  2. Are you saying that God used the earth as a kind of garbage dispossal place to discard Satan? I mean do you believe God created a world for man and then quickly afterward threw Satan away to that place to get rid of him ?
  3. God is not "mad" at you. Or do you really think you surprised God into an emotional reaction? God knew exactly what He was getting with you - and He loved you anyway - with a love beyond comprehension. If your feelings tell you otherwise, then your feelings are lying to you. It is your responsibility to make a decision to trust what God's Word tells us, and to reject the lies of your feelings. Forget about what other Christians appear to be doing. They either will go through, or already have gone through, an experience similar to yours. Your walk with God is your own. And forget about striving to be anyone other than yourself. Stop comparing yourself to others. Just get to know God. Talk to Him about what is on your mind - honestly. Let Him speak to you through His Word, through sermons, through circumstances etc.. No pressure. Constant striving puts out the flame in many Christians. Fellowship with God is not a chore, but relationship. You talk when you have something to say, and God talks when He has something to say. Otherwise, you can simply enjoy each other's company. If you think you are too angry or lax, talk to God about it. God's kingdom is "righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit". If you don't have that, ask God how to get hold of it. It's not supposed to be rocket surgery šŸ˜Š .
  4. Before John the Baptist, Jews under the law of Moses were practicing ritual immersion in the form of entering into a mikveh for purification from sin before entering the temple. Johnā€™s baptism in the river Jordon for sin remission was nothing new and it meet all requirements under the law (Mark 1:3-4). We know the death of Christ freed us from the law if we believe. Mar 1:6 And John was clothed with camel's hair, and with a girdle of a skin about his loins; and he did eat locusts and wild honey; Mar 1:7 And preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose. Mar 1:8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost. When Jesus speaks of baptism in Mar 16:16 it is baptism by the Spirit which He will perform as John said He would do. All we have to do is believe in Christ. Mar 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. Mar 16:19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. Christ ascended and the Father sent His Spirit so that we might receive eternal life through Him. The Lord is that Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty (2 Co 3:17) from the law, ordinances such as water baptism, and manā€™s obedience in works of righteousness. The answer of a good conscience toward God (1 Peter 3:21) is to believe in the resurrection of the ascended Christ and His Spirit in us will do the rest.
  5. Praise Jesus! I donĀ“t watch pornography and masturbate anymore. God delivered me and i have NO desire to watch pornography and masturbate anymore. The desire is 100% gone. The last time i masturbated was around 5 years ago.
  6. Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: Philippians 1:6
  7. Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Philippians 2:12-13
  8. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13-14
  9. Good morning, Starise, Have you had your morning coffee yet? šŸ˜Š There are some good Biblical discussions in this thread. If we lived to be 900 years old, we would continue learning and discussing Godā€™s word daily. Godā€™s word is forever; I suspect we will be studying His word for all of eternity: And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen. (John 21:25) I currently have a digital library of 1,750 Biblical books, encyclopedias, commentaries, dictionaries, lexicons, secular historians, and translations with a mouse click. Of course, I could not read them all in multiple lifetimes. I only mention this because it is not a drop of water in an Olympic-sized swimming pool with what is now at our fingertips, not to mention the number of exegetical views reading the same Bible. But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. (Daniel 12:4) As I have mentioned in other threads, I believe this verse has a dual application in addition to the apparent interpretation. Daniel was inspired to convey a scriptural understanding of the prophetic word. No one would understand the meanings until the terminal generation. When these prophetic events at the time of the end start to unfold and align (the world seemingly falling apart), many will begin to flip the pages of the Bible (run to and fro), trying to find the answers as to why and what to expect. I think this has started, and the prophetic implications and escalations of the current October 7, 2023, Israeli-declared war are beginning to turn many to the Bible once again. Many people in Muslim Iran are receiving Bibles and hearing the Word via the Internet, radio, and Bible tracts, and it is reported that many are converting to Christianity. They are excited about the prophecies and promises about Persia (running to and fro in prophetic scripture) and look forward to them. Many in Iran are now having dreams and visions: And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: (Acts 2:17) To simplify what I was thinking about prophecy, I see prophecy as two types, thus sayeth the Lord and predicting the future in advance. Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets. (Amos 3:7) In the above verse, I contemplated if there are any modern-day prophets today, and if so, how we know who they are. They would need to be 100% accurate, 100% of the time. I have concluded we have the complete canon, there will be no further prophetic revelations, thus, the prophets, ended with John the Baptist, the gift of tongues, etc., ended with the last apostle John. The gift of tongues was granted to share the Gospel message in the listenerā€™s tongue. IMO. The above does not preclude the Holy Spirit from giving individual revelation and understanding. 1 Corinthians 13:8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. 9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. 10. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. We are like-minded in interpreting the above verses, save verse ten. Not that any of my views are correct, but I believe this is implying our translation to perfect, glorified bodies. Then we will know in full; everything that was revealed in part will be revealed. All mysteries will be revealed, and we will understand in full. Could this be part of removing our tears, complete understanding, and agreement with a perfect God? I believe some of the gifts mentioned in 1 Corinthians chapter 12 were for the apostolic age only as a sign to verify the Gospel being preached (the Jews always required a sign). Today, we have been given individual gifts, fruits, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, and the ability to operate collectively as one church in the Lord. Pastors, deacons, teachers, workers, cheerful giving offerings and tithes, trustees, secretaries, treasurer, prayer warriors, etcetera. Raising the dead, healing issues of blood, leprosy, and palsy ceased from men of God in the first century A.D. The prosperity preachers, faith healers, and many like Joyce Meyer, Joel Osteen, and Kenneth Copeland are fakes with a deceiving spirit. I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven. (2 Corinthians 12:2) Not to draw attention to himself, we know Paul was speaking of himself when he was stoned and left for dead. Paul must have been prohibited from revealing what he heard and saw in Heaven. Paul was privileged to reveal and explain several mysteries hidden in the OT. I suspect 1 Cor. 13:8-10 might be associated with 2 Cor. 12:2. Today, we can boldly go before the throne of God through our mediator, Jesus Christ our Lord, in intercessory prayer, healing, strength, and our needs. Our Lord always answers our prayers, either yes and immediately (as was in my case with alcoholism), no, because it is not in His will, He has better plans, or wait for His perfect timing. Many times, we may never know it was answered this side of Heaven. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16)
  10. @Michael37 Michael, I just got a message from @Diastethat shows the attached word document is ā€œunavailable.ā€ Can you assist? Thanks, Charlie Has anyone been able to access this document?
  11. Oh, my goodness!!!! What a statement, from one who so vehemently rejects "full context" where "tohu wabohu" occur in texts that warn of coming GREAT destruction on the land. Wow. Are you hyper-hypocritical, or WHAT?! I've proven from Jer 4 and Isa 34 what "tohu wabohu" describe, and you simply ignore the "full context" and hold to the unreal idea that the earth was created 'formless'.
  12. 1 John 5:19 We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one.
  13. And a very poorly translated one at that! You've shown total disdain for what the Hebrew words really mean, even though I have proved it over and over. And that's the fact. What is good enough for me is knowing what the Hebrew really means. Sure. You've found others of that same religion who have written nutty stuff. No, when I provide definitions, I copy everything. But you wouldn't know that, because you don't do any research at all. You just read the writings of others in your young earth religion. Scientists studied earth age WAY before Darwin was born. If only you were aware that this passage describes yourself. Your own source proves that every object HAS form, since we live in a 3 dimensional world and every object has 3 dimensions. To be 'formless' means no form. Unless the word is used in comparison to other similar objects that lack what is characteristic for that "formless" object. And I gave a perfect example, which you didn't even try to refute. To accept "formless and void" for Gen 1:2 is the peak of fallacy, esp since we have the other 2 verses that have both words, and they describe total destruction of land. No, most experts don't even know me. So you are wrong. They spew their young earth religion, just as you do. So what? Aren't you aware of 1 John 2:19 - We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. and Rev 12:9 - The great dragon was hurled downā€”that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him. Satan has been quite successful in deceiving the whole world. That's why quoting numbers of who agrees with whom is folly. Polls mostly reveal how successful Satan is. Your opinion is without merit. Earth age isn't a doctrine, but exists only in your young earth religion. It is simply a fact. And Gen 1:2 clearly indicates the earth was created long before Adam was. That is my only point. The Hebrew supports my point. The comment is delusional. So that makes it wrong? More delusion from your religion. Have you taken a poll? Where do you get your opinions from? Of course it obviously never occurred to you that it wasn't until then that MUCH OLDER manuscripts were found of the Bible, much closer to the autograph. And, of course, you have to ignore the Septuagint, written in 300 BC, which translated "tohu" more reasonably than the KJV. Idiocy reigns! Why you continue to ignore the plain fact only reveals the depth of your heart and false religion. I researched ALL the verses containing "tohu" and shared all the ways they were translated. Why don't you take that list of 10, and research all 32 English translations to see how all the translations rendered "tohu"? So a different view on earth age equals heresy? No, I fully understand what they mean in the other 2 texts where they occur. They describe total destruction. Why don't YOU understand what they mean? I've shown you over and over. I guess you didn't bother to actually read Jer 4 or Isa 34. Oh, there's that poll of yours. 1 John 5:19 and Rev 12:9 warn against polls. Aren't you aware that there are closed minded people of all brands? Right. Show what "tohu wabohu" really means. "proving"?? Really! No, they have just given their opinions, just like yourself. Like I said, either lazy or stupid. Your opinions are without any merit. My view comes directly from how "tohu" is used in all its uses in the OT plus how "tohu wabohu" are used in the 3 times they occur. The words cannot be applied to original creation. That would be foolish. But, your young earth religion trumps all facts an truth. Go worship.
  14. Today
  15. After the announcement of RFK Jr.'s VP pick I am forced to bow out of voting for him. There is no way I would ever vote for a progressive nut job! My only recourse is for a write-in candidate at this time. Perhaps Looney tune characters?
  16. The reverend Billy Graham was one of the greatest and most influential evangelist in my lifetime. I still listen to his sermons from time to time. He actually wrote a book about Angels and talked extensively about them. He knew the Bible cold and led millions to the Lord. Yet, there were things that he said I absolutely disagree with. There were issues he refused to take up, possibly because of the controversy. He wanted to appeal to the masses, so on issues like evolution or the atrocities upon children the Catholic church covered up, he was silent. So, like Graham, Ham has the right to be wrong. In this instance he is assuredly wrong. In the beginning applies to our beginning. Heaven was always God's home, and the angels are His servants. Are they eternal? If it suits God, then yes. If not, then they are finite. We know that Satan is an eternal being and he was an angel. Because humans are fallible, you have to test the things they say against the absolute truth of the Scriptures. We can be wrong. That's why we should post quotes from the Bible in full context, to avoid the risk of teaching falsely.
  17. Mr. M Baptism in water would be a righteous work and we know it's not by works of righteousness. We now have the Holy Spirit of the ascended Christ that freed us from works of righteousness for salvation. Eph 2:7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 2Co 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. From G1658; freedom (legitimate or licentious, chiefly moral or ceremonial): - liberty. Christ Jesus by the Spirit baptizes us into his body superseding the need for water baptism. 1Co 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. The drinking of the Spirit cleanses the spirit of man on the inside where it counts. Eternal life is received by the obedience of one so the gift of righteousness may be free (without man's works of righteousness). Rom 5:18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. Rom 5:19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
  18. Well, there is a "just so happens" there, isn't there? It "just so happens" that in a totally different set of physical laws, one in which radioactivity might not even occur at all, the reactions and things that do happen just so happen to look exactly like the product of millions and billions of years of radioactive decay when transposed to the new physics. That's a very big coincidence, because you really have to go some to look that way. It's not just one or two wee things. It's literally hundreds of, often independent, pieces of evidence that look for all the world like millions of years worth of radioactive decay. All produced, by complete coincidence, in a totally different physical universe for unconnected reasons - and then when the physics flip to our modern universe, perfectly in place to look like the earth is really old. Sounds a bit like someone wanting to make it look that way to me! I dunno man, it's fooled quite a few people eh! Well, it is a physical constant. I mean, no offense, but I read physics at Uni - I ought to know that time is part of physics... Actually, we can know how fast things are moving in space, and there are several ways of doing this, the most popular being measuring "redshift". And, we can measure distances in deep space too, and the measure is through pretty simple optical physics and geometry. Which was my original point exactly. God changed loads of physical constants and laws, and the result is a universe that just to happens to look like a really old one in the new set of laws, but in the old set (if only we knew!) it'd look really young. I know, I get it. And it just so happens, in the new physics, to look exactly like a decay chain, in exactly the same quantities and ratios we would expect, and it just so happens to agree in apparent age with other "so-called" radioactive decay (which never happened it was just some other kind of reaction in the old world that happened much faster). It's all a massive, massive coincidence - nothing to see here! Completely agree. Who knows whether there were even electrons in the old physics right? I'm just saying though, it now *looks* like radiogenic argon of exactly the type that is formed through radioactive decay. And it's now inert, so there's no reason for it to even be on earth other than radioactive decay (obviously unless you know your gnostic truths about the old physics - in which case it all makes sense and is just a huge coincidence what it looks like now). Who knows! All I know is that the zircons as they are now look awfully like they have billions of years worth of radiation tracks and damage. Clearly there was a process, completely unrelated to radiation, in the old physics that formed these in days. Who knows how? But all I need to know is that it's all a big coincidence that the result, in the new physics, looks like millions of years of radiation damage. To hell with my uniformitarian assumptions, o ye of little faith! Cratars form in the direction of the impact. But hey, that's only in the new physics. You never know back then right! It's all good though, there's little point discussing further. My points remain entirely valid.
  19. Where did that war get us? Perhaps a bit of serious debate born of protestations is a good thing. How many of our then 18 and 19 year old youth, and now 70 and 80 year olds at the USA were seriously adversely affected for their lifetime (Or died young very young), for what again defense of freedom? All while the leaders that thought warring to be good thing, for them anyway, sat rather comfortably at home, and now their sons and daughters of wealth in the USA are competing with China to be the biggest investors in Communist controlled Vietnam! Maybe a bit of protest, though inconvenient and maybe unpopular, is a good thing to have to face, for it does force some thinking, even some praying, and a lot of justifying of one's policies that affect so many to the core of their lives now and will for the remaining term of their individual and collective lives.
  20. Hi Don't know what revved up might manifest as; but I do get revved, or recharged anyway, by the presence in the gathering together in Jesus' name for God the Holy Spirit is felt so deeply. Whether it be in worship (Music) prayer praise or reading of the word of God and fellowship of those gathered. I am lifted in joy I am brought to tearing in worship I am encouraged in fellowship and blessed in prayer as well as knowing God is blessed by His own. No matter the impurity, the fault, the trial at hand, God can fix it. Take it all to God. Yes I do get revved I guess. Revved, a good word, sure I do, I get really revved at the gathering of the saints in Christ Jesus as often as we meet.
  21. To secure our attention and place us on the pathway God desires, there are strategies that He employs that are very effective. As much as we are not to be ignorant of satan's devices (2 Cor. 2:11), we must be even more knowledgeable of the ways of the Lord (Ps. 25:4). Knowing God's ways will result in us experiencing His mighty acts (Ps. 103:7). Three ways God works to move us in a new direction: DISRUPTION OF OUR PLANS When stuck at an impasse, it is a natural tendency to return to familiar surroundings. We see this in the lives of the disciples after Jesus' death. They went back to fishing even though they had clearly been mandated to forsake their vocation and follow Christ (see Luke 5:10-11; John 21:3). Because they were commercial fishermen, there may even have been economic motives behind their actions. Nevertheless, we see clearly that there was no lasting provision and no permanent peace in returning to past environments. When God leads us out of a place of familiarity and the way forward is blocked, what is the solution? There are some breakthroughs reserved for us that can only be accessed through prayer. We must seek God until we receive a clear answer from Heaven. Whether it was Paul's night vision of the man in Macedonia summoning him, or the voice of Jesus speaking to the disciples on the seashore in Galilee, the New Testament Christians received clear direction from the Spirit and were able to regain momentum and experience breakthrough. DISSAPATION OF RESOURCES Just as Elijah had foretold, the word of the Lord came to pass. "And there was a severe famine in Samaria ..." (1 Kings 18:2). During the famine, God looked after Elijah. He gave him specific instruction relative to how he would be sustained. "Then the word of the Lord came to him, saying, 'Get away from here and turn eastward, and hide by the Brook Cherith, which flows into the Jordan. And it will be that you shall drink from the brook, and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there.' So he went and did according to the word of the Lord, for he went and stayed by the Brook Cherith, which flows into the Jordan. The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening; and he drank from the brook" (1 Kings 17:2-6). Cherith which means "place of covenant," was where the Lord demonstrated His faithfulness in taking care of Elijah. However, the day would come when the brook would run dry and the birds would no longer fly (see 1 Kings 17:7). Although Elijah had come to depend on such provision, God seemed to have no compunction at all in cutting off these resources. Has Your Brook Dried Up? Have you experienced something similar? Your streams of resource have dried up. During such a time, trust that the Lord will soon speak to you like He did to Elijah. "Then the word of the Lord came to him, saying, 'Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. See, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you'" (1 Kings 17:8-9). You will see that the place where He leads you will be the place where He feeds you. Where the Lord guides, He provides! DISSOLUTION OF RELATIONSHIPS Here is a powerful truth to embrace when a key connection you value has dissolved for no apparent legitimate reason: The Lord is turning the hearts of men in the direction He desires (Prov. 21:1) and is, in fact, making it easier for you to let go and move forward into your next assignment. Therefore, do not take the matter personally nor become bitter with people as though they are rejecting you. TRUSTING IN GOD'S GOOD GUIDANCE Sometimes Father God's ways do not make sense to us. Scripture even attests to this reality. "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts" (Is. 55:9). No matter how it may appear on the surface, He is actively involved in the affairs of our lives. On occasion, He may even interrupt our plans resulting in us experiencing a sense of anxiety due to a perceived loss of control. However, as uncomfortable as we may become, we must trust that He is leading us along the best pathway for our lives. "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My eye on you" (Ps. 32:8). ALBERT FINCH MINISTRY
  22. Ken Ham: The Bible says God created all thingsā€”including things invisibleā€”and principalities and powers. So angels arenā€™t eternal like God. They were created by him. But when? Well, the book of Job describes the angels celebrating when God laid the foundations of the earth. That was either on day one, when God created the earth, or day three, when God created the dry land. We canā€™t know for sure which day angels were created on. But itā€™s likely it was on day oneā€”and definitely before day four. What we do know for sure is that God made all things in six days https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.listennotes.com/podcasts/answers-with-ken-ham/when-were-the-angels-created-Q2t1m9bNydY/amp/
  23. Your closest friendnt, The warnings to the seven churches in the second and third chapter of Revelation illustrate how Jesus views what is occurring/ has occurred within the church types. Shouldn't a Christian abide by the word of God, guided by the Holy Spirit leading the body of Christ? Understandably, I need to remove the log in my eye before critiquing someone about the splinter in someone else's eye, while also knowing that we are to judge what happens within the Christian community as per 1 Cor. 5.
  24. ā€œBut the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.ā€ "Be still, and know that I am God" I agree tatwo. God says if I love him, I will keep his commandments. I also believe and try to practice the presence of God throughout my day. Getting cleaned up and assembling together is very important. And God tells us to do that. But I can't get 'revved up' at the worship service. I see my brothers and sisters, clay like me. Pretty on the outside. But how does it appear to God, who see's my inside, my heart? I remember what God said about the man who cried, "Be merciful to me a sinner". "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom" "Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee" ā€œTherefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.ā€ ā€œHe who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.ā€
  25. Oh you have a tender heart towards God, bro. The Lord would value that. Hadn`t heard of Carrie, so I looked her up and listened. very sweet & touching. I posted this song for `Figure of Eighty,` as I thought she may prefer a man singing.
  26. As we are in the New Covenant which is paramount to understand that the Lord of the New Covenant has also died for the forgiveness of our sins. And he has put into place New principles. Jesus knows but his moto is love and forbearance and he will never do to his people what they did to him. I know many things and he knows more things about them but He knows what he is doing. This is why I stopped saying anything specific about them that it can be very offensive to them. He knows how to approach every matter. They are his children and no one has the right from Jesus Christ to speak about them in away thinking that they do a service to the Lord. In Love and in acceptance because they also have their sins forgiven in Jesus Christ. And the love of Jesus Christ is greater than their confusion.
