  1. Past hour
  2. I found something that as I slept that felt like a round scab on my right temple (in my sideburn) that I picked at until it was gone. It's swollen a little and bled a bit. But I am afraid it might have been a tick that got on me somehow. I'm not certain. But if it is, those little buggers can cause big trouble. I'm hoping it was just a scab, but for the life of me I don't recall getting a pin sized injury right where my glasses temple usually is. Please pray for me. It's always something. Ugh. Thank you thank you, so much!!!
  3. If you have asked for forgiveness and are trusting (having faith) in Christ as your Savior, you are not going to hell. If you want to listen to a good pastor on YouTube, check out Dr. David Jeremiah, Turning Point Ministry. Or maybe look for him on TV. He is easy to understand, I think you would like him. But do try to find a good church, too.
  4. Acts is a historical account of the Church, not a template for how we “get” the Holy Spirit. We have the Epistles of the Apostles for that. Notice Paul was surprised they had not had the Holy Spirit through the hearing of the Gospel. They were actually still on Johns preaching of a pre crucified Christ. the birth of the Church with the Apostles and Jewish people from all over the world is just as historic and non repeating as the first coming of the Lord Jesus. The opening of the doors by Peter to the gentiles is historic and cannot be repeated or used as a guideline for how to get the Holy Spirit. We now have clear scripture that every believer on the Lord Jesus has the Holy Spirit, anyone who doesn’t is “none of his” Rom 8:9 You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ.
  5. seems like a perfect resemblence to me, even the lady agrees!
  6. schools out ( well not for another week here )
  7. It really is sad. To some people instances like that are their main contact with the Gospel. The precedent they set is really unfortunate.
  8. We should remember it is not God who delays the 'restoration process but MAN who FAILS to REPENT of his wickedness ! It will not be any different in the future, restoration will not happen automatically...there is a little matter of humility, submission and repentance !
  9. "He redeemed us in order that the blessing promised to Abraham would come to the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit." - Gal 3 "You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed and heirs according to the promise." - Gal 3 "I do not want you to be unaware, brothers, that our forefathers were all under the cloud, and that they all passed through the sea. They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea. They all ate the same spiritual food and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ." - 1 Cor 10 "God had planned something better for us, so that together with us they would be made perfect." - Hebrews 11 (Speaking about the OT people of faith in Jesus) Your understanding and insight is suspect.

Welcome Oskeedos, may you be helped and blessed by your time here!
  11. Hi and a warm welcome to you!
  12. I think nobody likes the story. But a movie or book lives from two things. The conflicts that a person has with himself or others, as well as the development that is going through a figure. At the beginning, the detective is a negative character full of prejudice. Only in the course of action he understands that his actions have nothing to do with Christianity, and he is ready to change.
  13. There are some good, sound churches and ministries in Africa which I hear about from Christian Aid Mission. However, there are also the unsound churches. One of our members here who lives in Africa talked about a pastor requesting money before he would pray for people! Very sad and alarming situation.
  14. Today
  15. Ephesians 4:24 (NASB) and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth. The doing of righteousness is that that kills the old self. For the old must die so the new can live. For as much as we were free from righteousness before we became regenerated, just the same we are to be free from unrighteousness with the putting on of the new self. As before regeneration sin could be done without the heart being pricked and know that it had done wrong. Now when unrighteousness is done the heart gets pricked and it is shown what good and bad behavior are. What righteousness and unrighteousness are. Now as regenerated persons we are to choose the good and righteous action. Whereby by that action establishing peace. For the doing of righteousness puts on the new self and is death to the old. It is by faith do we reckon the old dead. It is by faith we reckon the new alive and as that faith is never to no avail we are told to put on the new man. Which was created in righteousness for the manifestation of righteousness. For righteousness pleases God and the doing of righteousness we are all called to. So today let us put on the new self a little more than yesterday. Let us walk in a little more righteousness than yesterday. For God’s eyes are always searching for the heart that is willing to do righteousness so He can be present and bless the heart with a joy and a peace that is beyond measure. So as those that want the blessings of God in our lives, let righteousness be the hallmark of our doing. Many blessings to all that would strive after the marks of putting on the new self which is the manifestation of righteous actions in all things. Much love in Christ, Not me
  16. That's wrong! A lie spread by the NRA and ultra-right republicans. New Zealand and Canada have reasonable gun laws. In Europe we also have good gun laws. Thus, in Europe, the sale of weapons from private to private is prohibited. Because the weapon is tied to a gun license. And only the authorities can transfer this firearm license from one person to another. After she has checked this person. Of course, mistakes can happen there as well (we are all human), but the risk of misusing a weapon is smaller than in the USA, for example.
  17. I agree. Take 1 John 1:9 to heart and receive your forgiveness and cleansing right now. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
  18. Hi, now in my 90tis I am still a passionate knitter and craft woman - mainly for charity, as my family no longer rely on my offerings. But my true Passion is GOD and His Word . In my long studies i have discovered that ALL denominations are in error, not one has all Truth.....so I no longer support any. GOD and His Son ALONE should be our priority and have our undevided allegiance , NOT all the people who make up their own rules and regulations to adhere to. YOU of course must do as YOU think right ! just given you my opinion. All the best !
  19. It's just awful, isn't it? At one point you place all the responsibility for calamity on Jesus as though He is in complete control, then you sidestep when it doesn't align with personal dogma. Are you saying that God is not in control now? Or a hundred years ago? What about when Jesus walked the earth? Our Father was vacationing? A side note? Salvation and eternal life of a vast group is a side note? What is more to the point than the saving of souls of as many as possible? I think you revel in the death of others. As long as you are insulated you have little compassion even if the unregenerate are cast into eternal torture. I do hope you gain insight at some point before it becomes critical.
  20. When the founding fathers of the US wrote the constitution, the US was a different country, a wild and dangerous country. Much has changed since 1776. Today, apart from hunting and personal protection, in the US you really do not need weapons anymore. By the way, do you know why the NRA was founded and why it is especially popular by racists? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Rifle_Association#Early_history https://www.mediamatters.org/blog/2017/09/27/23-reasons-why-nra-racist/218065 In my youth, I lived in Idaho. My so-called "father" went hunting and fishing, which is good there. He used the weapons not only to hunt and fish, but also to humiliate us, to intimidate us, and as a threat to rape his mother, sister, and myself. I was six years old when he started working for me, and eleven when he stopped the rape. I repressed everything, and he threatened and beat us, and with the exception of my mother, whom he called a "German slut," he raped none of us children. At the age of 14, the memories returned. I did not want him to go to jail, just that he admits his actions and he is sorry. But he denied. I went to the police, nobody wanted to believe me. I went to the bishop of my LDS church, he too did not believe me, but my "father". I knew what he would do to me when he came home from the church and killed him with five bullets. I was sentenced to twenty years imprisonment at the age of 14. What my "father" did to all of us was not allowed to be named in order "not to destroy his reputation," the judge said. If there had been stricter gun laws back then, none of this would have happened because my father had a war trauma. Think about it!
  21. Likewise, I am interested in where you went.
