    • Who is right and who is wrong wasn't my primary point.  I was saying that according to Romans, both camps are accepted by the Lord.
    • This seems more of pride and lack of submission to the Holy Spirit. We have to talk more and put what we know over the table and decide what indeed is true or not. "hat they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You;
          that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me." - John 17:21   Agreed.   Again, this is lack of submission to the Holy Spirit. Scriptures are clear and God is witness that such laws should not be forced on anyone. And are they seeking to be justified by works of the law of faith in Christ?! We are to live by faith in Christ.   We keep the Sabbath by walking in the Spirit, following the Lord. Please, understand this.   And God is witness because He has given His Spirit to those who chose not to follow laws of the OT. "And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is
          the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him." - Acts 5:32
    • It used to be the case (when I was a child) that nominal believers (the kind of people who would put down 'C of E' as their religion but never prayed or went to church) would take their babies to be baptised and then take those same children along to be confirmed at the age of about 12. At my school (which wasn't even a church school), confirmation classes were 'advertised' in school assembly! Actual commitment to Jesus Christ was not required, it was just one of those rites of passage that many people went through without thinking. My husband was confirmed at the age of 12 just because he was a choirboy and it was expected of him. So a lot of people who have been confirmed in this way are not genuine Christians. But having said that, there must be thousands (millions?) of Anglican believers for whom confirmation in their teens was a meaningful event that expressed genuine commitment to Jesus - equivalent to believers baptism. Because you're only supposed to be baptised once, so if (as a church) you baptise people in infancy, you can't re-baptise them when they become Christians later in life. Confirmation fills the gap.  Personally I think that it's better not to baptise infants at all. Then confirmation becomes unnecessary. It's infant baptism that's the real problem.
    • If they violate the TOS or SOF, then I agree with you.  The moderators are to enforce those standards.  Perhaps those things need to be front and center so we can all read them.  Since you brought that up, I think I will go back and re-read the SOF.
    • As I scroll down through some of the threads here at Worthy Christian Forums, I can't help but notice how fighting is at an all time high.  There is a thread that is supposed to be nothing but posts of exhortation that was closed.  How does that happen?  We have another thread about how rotten things are at Worthy Christian Forums over a lack of doctrinal purity that has exploded to over 200 posts in a couple of days.  We have a new member start a thread asking people if they know they are saved, and he was jumped on for posting in the wrong area.  Everyone is at each others throats.  Does this not sound like what Christ Jesus would happen?   Think not that I am come to send peace on earth:  I came not to send peace, but a sword.  For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.  And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.  Matthew 10:34-36 What is happening here is rather mild compared to some things that have happened in the past over religion.  We have had wars fought over doctrinal beliefs and people killed over disagreements over the Word of God.  Has anyone ever considered what is written in Romans chapter 14?  It is speaking of differences over people that believe they are free to do anything they wish as opposed to those who observe days and times and can't eat certain kinds of foods.  Both sides are told not to judge the other.  Those who eat, eat unto the Lord, and those who don't eat, don't eat unto the Lord.  Those who observe Sabbath days do so as unto the Lord, and those that don't do so as unto the Lord.  The Bible says God receives people from both camps.  That is right.  He receives the "legalists" and those who believe all things are clean.   But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.  For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.  So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.  Let us not therefore judge one another any more:  but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.  I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself:  but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.  But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably.  Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died.  Romans 14:10-15 It is amazing how many fights have taken place over things like observing the Sabbath Day.  The Christian liberty crowd attacks those who say we must observe the 10 commandments as fallen from grace, while the other side attacks the Christian liberty crowd as being sinners.  What does God say?  God accepts people from both sides.  Still, Christ said he didn't come to bring peace, but a sword, and we are seeing this played out among the family at Worthy Christian Forums.  I have no idea how this holy war will end, but no matter what happens, the outcome won't be good.

      The last two days have been frustrating! My pc suddenly turned off, and I found that my puppy had chewed through the power cord. Used a half-roll of electrical tape trying to fix it. Didn't work. Then I went to charge my phone and she had chewed through that wire too!
      So I locked her securely in the bathroom, ran to Walmart, got a small laptop & charger cord. Came home and puppy had gotten out somehow! Oh my Lord, she had gotten into everything. Including eating ALL of the cats' food, as well as few of their feces
      After cleaning up her mess, removing my old desktop pc, and re-wiring everything (out of her reach), I was exhausted.
      Anyways, I'm finally back to my favorite site.
      Puppies. Adorable but destructive.
