    • Repeating the opening post just so I do not hijack the thread. I simply state God has used many a differing presentation, along with many many teachings that I reject in order to get my attention and ultimately use God the Holy Spirit to turn me about to my own repentance. So I am not too concerned that God does not nor cannot continue to do the same  as He gathers Who He wills to be gathered  into the fold of Jesus My Lord God and savior. I'd rather share the gospel that Jesus is the way the truth and the life, and that  it is by Him alone that salvation comes along with life eternal in the sight of God the Father where all may rejoice and praise the lamb of God, and continue to be comforted (my opinion) by the Holy Spirit, in the company of God the Father whose will the Son does. God is sovereign. He uses even what is intended for evil to good for those that do come to be turned about by the Holy Spirit. God is sovereign means, God is sovereign.
    • Right. There is sometimes no clearly cut distinction in the eyes of the sinner. It may seem not  willful for the person involved. People often try and find some "objective circumstances". I think sins are mostly willful. Who can tell the difference? I think the best way is to ask Christian brothers to help find out what it was in every particular case.
    • Who gives the beast from the earth,  aka the false prophet,  his power and authority to do miracles? Essentially,  it is the miracles that he does that deceives those dwelling on the earth. *[[Rev 13:14]] KJV* And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.  Do you see that it does not say that he gets his power to do miracles from Satan or the wicked one?   As I read,  it is becoming clear to me that the man of sin is not the antichrist,  but the false prophet.  *[[2Th 2:9]] KJV* Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, *[[2Th 2:10]] KJV* And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. *[[2Th 2:11]] KJV* And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: *[[2Th 2:12]] KJV* That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. Do you see that the "even him" being referenced in verse 9 is pointing to the wicked one in verse 8? *[[2Th 2:8,9a]] KJV* And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9a.Even him.... You cannot show anywhere in revelation that the beast from the sea,  the antichrist,  does any kind of miracles,  signs,  or wonders.   It is the beast from the earth that is the man of sin.   I am going to be honest with you.   I did not see this until I started this reply to you.   The false prophet is the man of sin!  And it is the revelation of Christ,  at the rapture/parousia that brings revelation to who the man of sin is.  *[[2Th 2:5]] KJV* Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? *[[2Th 2:6]] KJV* And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. *[[2Th 2:7]] KJV* For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. As I pointed out in verses 9-11, the revelation of the man of sin with God given power,  is God's own doing, and is part of the time oriented plan of God's wrath.   The 7th trumpet has to be blown before the man of sin can be revealed [he is not the A/C].  God's wrath comes with the blowing of the 7th trumpet:  *[[Rev 11:18]] KJV* And the nations were angry, and THY WRATH IS COME, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth. Blessings The PuP
    • I agree @Adstar, The reason being given in the verses that follow:- '... For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened,
      and have tasted of the heavenly gift,
      and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
      And have tasted the good word of God,
      and the powers of the world to come,
      If they shall fall away,
      to renew them again unto repentance;
      seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh,
      and put him to an open shame.’
      (Heb 6:4-6 )  * This having particular application to the Hebrew believers of that day. Their spiritual welfare was God's concern. * This is where the application to myself in those early verses (see OP) stopped. In Christ Jesus
    •   Pardon me for not taking up poisonous creatures and dancing with them. For I would have already known by the sign of Jonah that Jesus gave that Jesus is Lord God and my personal savior. I would only be falling into a trap of Satan, and in reality would be denying the sufficiency of my Lord's sacrifice as the Lamb of God, with his resurrection and ascension  being fully sufficient prove that He is God, and that there is victory over death in Him alone, if I would personally join in that practice. Dancing with poisonous snakes would result in my death I am sure for my tempting and testing of God, and for that reason alone, I'll take a pass on the opportunity.   Deuteronomy 6:16-25 English Standard Version (ESV)  “You shall not put the Lord your God to the test, as you tested him at Massah. You shall diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and his testimonies and his statutes, which he has commanded you.  And you shall do what is right and good in the sight of the Lord, that it may go well with you, and that you may go in and take possession of the good land that the Lord swore to give to your fathers  by thrusting out all your enemies from before you, as the Lord has promised.  “When your son asks you in time to come, ‘What is the meaning of the testimonies and the statutes and the rules that the Lord our God has commanded you?’  then you shall say to your son, ‘We were Pharaoh's slaves in Egypt. And the Lord brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand.  And the Lord showed signs and wonders, great and grievous, against Egypt and against Pharaoh and all his household, before our eyes.  And he brought us out from there, that he might bring us in and give us the land that he swore to give to our fathers.  And the Lord commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the Lord our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as we are this day.  And it will be righteousness for us, if we are careful to do all this commandment before the Lord our God, as he has commanded us.’     Matthew 4:1-11 New King James Version (NKJV) Satan Tempts Jesus 4 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.  And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry.  Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”  But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”  Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple,  and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: ‘He shall give His angels charge over you,’ and, ‘In their hands they shall bear you up,
      Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’ ” Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’”  Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.  And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.” 10 Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ”  Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.
