    • While it is very true that Jesus didn't know the day nor the hour, He promised the following.... 1 Thess. 5: 1 ¬∂¬† But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
      2  For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
      3  For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
      4  But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. The day of the coming of the Lord will not come as a surprise to them who are watching for the signs. Matthew 24: 42  Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
      43  But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.
      44  Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
      45  Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?
      46  Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
      47  Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
      48  But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;
      49  And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;
      50  The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,
      51  And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
      If we read all the above in context, taking the entire passage into account, though we may not know precisely what exact hour the Lord may come, if we watch, and are careful and faithful, that day or hour will not come as a surprise. We will be ready...we will recognise that the time is close, for in understanding the prophecies, we may discern fairly accurately "when He is at the door".
    • Sorry, I got hung up inside the answering¬†box on the last ¬†post. John doesn't call it Mystery Babylon, he say Mystery (one Description) Babylon the Great (2nd Description) Mother of Harlots (3rd Description) and Abominations of the Earth (4th Description). And yes, we can interpret¬†what John meant. He did not mean a Woman in Rev. 12, DID¬†HE ? He didnt tell us the Man-Child was Jesus in Rev. 12, DID HE ? So I don't buy your theory at all. So you believe a Star fell to earth and made the water bitter ? ¬†You have a lot¬†to learn about prophecy. ¬†Rev. 17:18 did not cite any particular CITY so by your own logic we cant say which city it is!!¬† ¬† Rev. 17:18 is the Angel telling John what he saw in the earlier vision. ¬†He saw Babylon written on her head. Babylon will never be inhabited again. So the city is a metaphor used for what is going to happen to earth at the end. John used Revelation to point out this fact. It isn't that hard to understand, humans try to make Revelation complex, it was written with a code using the Old Testament. The woman clothed in the Sun, Moon and 12 Stars is Israel.
    • This is where the whole debate on women pastors always loses me. ¬†Up to the "women must be silent verse" all things are perfectly clear and mean what they mean and apply to everyone all the time. ¬†Then we get to the silence verse, which seems very clear and plain to me...Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but¬†they are commanded¬†to be under obedience, as also saith the law. ¬†Yet, now with this verse it is a custom of the time and does not really mean what it says.¬†
    • I'm with Jesus, He was Post trib ¬† "after the tribulation of those days .......they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds" There are not multiple comings in the clouds this is parallel with 2. Thess.2 It comes not at the beginning of Antichist's career but the end for He will slay Antichrist with the breath of His mouth. ¬† ....it was Antichrist who caused the tribulation/persecution

      I believe in God, and that there are pieces of him, called love and goodness, in everyone. I also believe in prayer, not the memorized type mumbled in church but the spontaneous kind spoken, ironically, in the last breath of the day, when the lamp has been dimmed and the bedspread drawn down, and it's just you and those pieces of God in you, alone.... I suspect that when a man grows too big to kneel, then he is destined to fall.
