    • feed the body at home and feed the soul at church. It is clear two different thoughts are written one, how it was when Jesus was on earth, two what Paul taught one shows what happened then one says do it this way what shall we do?
    • Christianity is a religion.  It is the one true religion, but it is a religion.  Christians that say stuff like that are persecuting themselves and don't know it.  There are people that are part of cult religions, and they are religious and don't have God, but that is not what Shiloh was speaking of.
    • You may have something there Lady Kay.  When I read the Bible, I see God's judgment, and I see God's call to cease from sin.  Another minister never sees those things.  All he sees is the Bible teaching love.  I don't believe I am wrong in what I am teaching, but I do remember once recognizing that my message was too centered on judgment to the point that is what the congregation got week in and week out, and I even felt like it would be good if there was other ministers that could come in and preach from time to time giving the other side of the coin.  We do need a balance, and perhaps the problem is that those who are on the love and grace message persecute those who have been given the cease from sin message, and those with the cease from sin message look down on the people with the love and grace message as liberals who are leading people into hell.  You really may be on to something.  I think there is a lot of wisdom in what you said.
    • I agree RustyAngel.  Not Biblical for women to be Pastors.
    • It cuts both ways.  I feel more loved by someone who doesn't do bad things to me than someone who does but will once in a while hug me and say they love me.   You mentioned that the Bible says people shall know us by our love for each other.  I have been treated very well by at least one atheist, better than many Christians.  Does it therefore stand to reason she is a Christian because I feel love from her?  Of course not.  There is more to it than that.  Now, lets look at your friend.  Jesus told us the two great commandments were to love God and our neighbor as ourselves.  Why?  Because if we love God and our neighbor, we won't trespass against them.  Would your friend feel more loved by someone who brings them soup and prays for them, but while she has her back turned, robs her, or someone who doesn't do either?  I would feel better about the one that doesn't do either to me.  I was robbed by this guy who claims to be a once saved always saved Christian.  He has broken into many relatives homes and robbed them.  He can talk the religious talk, but he sure doesn't walk the walk.  I would feel more love from him if he would just leave me alone.  I had to put an alarm system in because of this "Christian."  As far as my parents go, I would feel more love from them if they didn't break their word to me, than if they did nice things but lied.  I would feel more love from them if they didn't become abusive than if they did, but showed love in other ways, perhaps by giving gifts.  It just depends.  The love Jesus is speaking about is one where you don't wrong your neighbor or God.  By the way, my parents were not abusive.  I am just making a point.
