  1. Recently, I have encountered a dangerous trend in worthy. It supersedes the atheist and skeptic mode. For the first time I now see that people are coming towards the Bible in a semi-scholastic, sophomoric way. They basically lean on their own knowledge. To start with (humor me) a basic guide to logic – a=b. If (a) is true then (b) is true. If insects share some common characteristic than we can easily put them in this category. Therefore, insects=mosquitoes. There are thousands of permutations of the model including fallacies with arrows, unequal signs and so forth. Similarly, there are musicians who have little bit of knowledge and try to impress others with their “unparallel” view of music and say they mastered diatonic scale. Well all scales are based on the C scale and all they’re saying is that they found a different note to start with. Yes there are minor keys but still based on the c major scale. That’s, do(I) re(2) mi(3) fa(4) so(5) la(6) ti(7) – do (repeat 1 in a higher pitch); minor: do(1) re(2) me -flat note one behind (3) fa (4) so (5) le - flat note (6) te - flat note (7)- do. Rock is based on I, IV, V= do ©, fa (F), and so (G)- though keys can vary, you can play “Twist and Shout,” “ I Love Rock n’ Roll,” “La Bamba” etc., all are, playable with these three chords. With a little variation you can Play Little Red Corvette, Why don’t we do it in the Road (adding 11 note). If you want to go for a touch of the esoteric : do©, Flat le (Am), fa (F) so (G) which is I-6-4-5 = Run Around Sue, Beyond the Sea, Goodnight Sweet Heart, I Will, You Take a Piece Of Me (minus bridge). Why am I going through this pain? To show you everything under the stars has its own purpose and system except the Bible. In the Bible, 1=3 (a logical contradiction) in terms of God and the Trinity.... The Bible has God’s Mind at play. It doesn’t fit the earthly scheme of things. Even in terms of common sense, a Virgin Birth, a Crucifixion and then a Resurrection of the Son of God for our Salvation and the conquering of death (only Christian dogma); the manifestation of the Holy Spirit. It’s beyond any thought process known to man, yet I believe. I know in my heart it is the Truth and I have the freedom to choose it or not. Know I have nothing against – in fact encourage – people finding out more. But something is breaking down from the questions of the past. Internet teens will be saying where is the Atom Bomb mentioned in the Bible? With genetic science growing soon you will probably be able to give our kids special features (like looking like me, kidding). What will our response be then? Also, we are mired in the 60’s boom generations; there will be opportunities to get yourself killed before your time (voluntarily or not). And what’s more, science has developed a memory pill – it could have been on the market except it causes PSTD (post traumatic disorder). Most importantly, where do we stand morally? Do we want Worthy to be a quiz show? I know, this started with a sophomore-type that knows some logic terms (but probably never read Socrates or Aristotle) making a cool stance on homosexuality. Well, you know, I would like as many people saved as possible, I had two seminarian friends who were homosexual friends but died of aids; I hope Christ accepts them. He will not accept them or anyone that has, “I have all knowing proud approach towards God or the Bible.” In short morally, if anything we went downhill. And God is unchangeable. By the Bible we know enough about Salvation but we don’t know or think like God. Yet I find more and more, the new trend is not following God morally but for educational purposes and to make a statements about how “bright” you think you are. What a waste. Oak

  2. Isaiah, Still praying for you, your family and Oslo. May the Lords presence continue to comfort the families of those that lose love ones. May those of us that know the Lord, take our rightful place as prayer warriors, praying not just for the safety of America, but all nations and countries be safe and healed. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

  4. Seems to me all he did was reprogram a living cell. No read the paper he took a living organism injected it wit the dna he created and that DNA replaced the original host DNA. It was alive before it had it's DNA altered. He did not build a computer, he simply replaced windows with Linux. It worked before as a windows machine now it works as a Linux machine. It's still a computer and no one in there right mond would claim that you bult a whole computer when all you did was replace the program. Nope I never said that. I an just stating your claim about life being created by a man in a lab is false. There leaves the problem that life in no way has been seen coming from non life. Ever.

  5. And in reply to the gist of this whole discussion, I just have to wonder why it is that so many out there keep trying to make God - the Creator of the entire universe, the One who designed all the sciences and mathematics that define and explain how it all seems to work - fit into the framework of those sciences and mathematics. He created it. He can manipulate it however He likes. He is not bound by physics or time or anything else. Knowing this, why must we continue to try to "explain" how He did it? If you're thinking that God is bound by the very laws of nature that He designed then you're basically saying the miracles do not and cannot exist. In which case, Jesus was not God manifested in the flesh and He did not rise from the dead and we're all just wasting our time following Him. I choose not to go down that path. God is all-knowing, all-encompassing, all-everything. We can't squeeze Him into any of our self-defined boxes.

  6. When God tells us it took 6-24 hour days, and scientist tells us that it too thousands of years, I am faced with the question ... Whom do I believe? I choose God and until He tells me otherwise. I will stick to what scripture tells me.

  7. Yes, historically, Muslim communities are "peaceful" until they are large enough in numbers to begin making outrageous demands on their host community. People in the United States are very naive when it comes to Islam. One only needs to look at the history of the religion and how it has always been about bloodshed and carnage to see what is in store for us once they get large enough to challenge our laws, and force other religions to submit to them. The irony is that Islam is being protected by people adhere to a philosphy of freedom that Islam opposes. Look at the lack of freedoms afforded to nonMuslims in Islamic nations, look at the gender aphartheid in Islam, the way women are dehumanized and treated like chattel. Look at the appalling human rights records of Islamic nations. That Syria is on the UN Human Rights Committee is laughable and tragic. The irony is that people are protecting Islam here in the US on the grounds of the very kind of religious liberty that Islam is opposed to idealogicaly and would eradicate from this country if it ever gets the chance. Here is a term that is a complete "turn-off" to the world in general and, interestingly enough, even to some Christians: EVIL There is a reluctance today to ascribe "evil" to anything. To do so makes one un-enlightend - even backwards and ignorant. Being people of good-will, most Americans of Christian heritage believe that others just want the same things in life that they want. Certainly, Muslims of good will only want to be left to worship in peace. Right? Indeed, that may be true of most American muslims. But just as there are "liberal" Christians and "fundamental" Christians - there are "moderate" Muslims and "fundamental" ones. What does it mean to be a "fundamental" Muslum? Well, I'm certainly no expert - but I do know that "Islam" means submission. "Jihad" means holy war. Contrary to what Bush 43 declared - "Islam" is not a peaceful religion. Simply look at the radical stances and violent rhetoric of Islamic leaders around the world - from Iran, Eqypt, Africa. Look at that former liberal "bastion" of free-thought and democracy - France. Their Muslim problem is so severe that they've found it necessary to enact laws restricing wearing the Burqa and other outward signs. Does France see a problem we don't? But back to the concept of evil. I'll come right out and say it - I believe Islam is evil. It is "anti" Christ and anti Christian. I make no apologies for what I write. Of course, that does not give me or any other Christian the right to harass or otherwise do harm to a person of the Islamic faith without cause. To do so would make me no better than the most radical jihadist. Unlike Mohammed, the Founder of Christianity WAS a Man of Peace - in fact, the Prince of Peace. So, we must make it a goal to deal with Muslims peaceably. At the same time, we shouldn't be ostriches, either. Blessings! -Ed

  8. OK...#1 YAY Herman! Oohrah Herman. The more I hear, the more I like. #2 Religious freedom is not absolute. Case in point: Mormonism. The USA put her foot down back in the 1860s and afterward about Mormonism's freaky doctrines and refused Utah statehood. Not only that, in later years, Mormonism was again called on the carpet, this time for discrimination when it was revealed that their Melchizedek priesthood was refusing blacks. A suit was filed and (just like they did about underage polygamy) the Mormon leadership had a convenient revelation that it was cool to allow black Mormons into the Melchizedek priesthood. Case in point: The Branch Davidians at Waco. We all know how THAT ended up. The government walked right in with APCs and what amounted to troops in police uniforms and more or less set the place on fire and wiped out the group. The government had concerns that this group was anti-government, so...in come the troops. So then, is Islam a threat to American national security? You bet your boom-boom it is, therefore, by case law precedent, the government (at any level) has the right to say 'this far and no further'. The government however at its very core, is the people. If the people allow this nonsense to continue, we will get what we ask for, right up until Islam takes over.
