  1. Body language says a lot too. You can be in a short skirt and not be drawing attention to yourself or you can be in an ankle length skirt and be very provocative through your body language, eyes, etc. A woman who swings her hips and bats her eyes is seductive even if she is covered from head to toe. And the imagination can run wild regardless of what anyone is wearing. That is why we are commanded to take every thought captive.

  2. I think in the Bible God gave the Israelites a list of clean and unclean animals to eat. I think cats and dogs would be unclean....pluss they are our friends .

  5. If a skirt is very short, it's going to be more distracting than any woman in an ankle long skirt no matter how hard she is swinging. Yeah, this is just my experience. I don't know what sort of conclusions anyone should draw from that, but I don't think it's realistic to think that someone could dress however and if her demeanor is a certain way it won't make a difference. Does that mean she *shouldn't* wear the short skirt? I'm not saying that.. but.. it's not realistic to think that it won't cause certain knee jerk reactions. My body type is very curvy. My sister-in-law is much more petite. A sweater dress on me looks very seductive and draws attention to my curves but on her it is not nearly as obvious and much more tasteful. Jeans are another example. There are many different styles of jeans and different body types. To say jeans are the problem is crazy. I think we need to be careful not to get legalistic and determine what clothing is right and what clothing is wrong. There are so many other factors and the condition of the heart and mind are the most important things to consider. Edit: After I wrote that, I saw your recent post. I agree with you and am not trying to get on your case. I just think that sometimes we focus so much on externals that we forget the heart and motive behind what we do.

  6. Good insight Ed! We are both responsible before God. It is easy to blame someone rather than take personal responsibility for our sin. If we are led by the Spirit, we will dress appropriately. Rather than focusing so much on the very vague term "modesty" which has many different meanings to many different people, I think we should focus more on what is godly. God gives us clear guidelines for what pleases Him. A meek and quiet spirit, love for one another, honor and deference to one another, a spirit of gentleness, not causing a stumbling block, being unselfish, etc. etc. God cares more about our heart than our outward appearance. God did not rebuke David for dancing before Him in very little clothing. We hear so much about not causing our brother's to stumble in the church and some say women shouldn't wear pants, short skirts, etc. but I believe a women can also be a stumbling block in the world if she dresses in such an extremely plain and conservative way that the lost are completely "turned off" to her and see her as unapproachable. I believe that Jesus dressed according to the cultural norms for his day. He probably had facial hair and did not wear a suit and tie. His appearance did not distract from His message or attract attention. His life and and love was what drew people not necessarily His outward appearance.

  7. Yes, exactly. Again I agree. Now, have all forms of government been tried?

  8. Tinky, I agree with most of what you believe and would like to add the following: The Lord Jesus Christ : I believe that Jesus Christ existed in eternity past as the Word and is the only begotten Son of God the Father, conceived of the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary in the fullness of time (approx 2000 years ago). He was crucified upon a cross, buried in a tomb and rose again on the third day, He ascended to Heaven, where He sits at the right hand of God the Father in resurrection glory, making intercession for us as our Great High Priest and Advocate. He has been given a Name above every other name, and all power in Heaven and earth and under the earth. The Holy Spirit : I believe that the Holy Spirit was sent by God the Father to convince the world of sin, righteousness and judgment to come. He also leads believers into all truth by revealing Jesus Christ to them and He is our Comforter. Although the world cannot see Him, nor do they know Him, He is in the world today. Angels : I believe that Angels are part of God’s creation and while they are mostly invisible to us, they carry out God’s instructions as ministering spirits or flames of fire. They also encamp around about those that fear God and have been sent to minister for the heirs of salvation. Baptism of The Holy Spirit : I believe that the Baptism of the Holy Ghost is an essential experience for all believers, subsequent to their conversion to Christ, to empower them for service. It is the Seal of God upon their lives and the earnest or down payment of their inheritance. The sign of speaking with other tongues as the Holy Spirit gives utterance, is confirmation that the believer has been filled with the Holy Spirit. Sin : I believe that Sin: 1: Originated in the heart of Lucifer (the Devil). 2: Was introduced to the human race by Adam. 3: Is any transgression of God’s will, whether in ignorance or deliberate, by action, thought, motive, disposition or state. 4: Is punishable by God’s righteous standards and ordinances. 5: The sentence is eternal death in the Lake of Fire (Hell), where the smoke of the sinners’ torment will rise forever and ever.

  10. For Pete's sake (and ours!) is there ANYTHING that isn't being made into a conspiracy theory these days? I read the above and laughed out loud.....give it a rest, will you? (Not just you, everyone!) MG, it is my understanding that we can all express our views here. I heard about this and was asking if anyone else had. If what I heard has truth to it then I would like to know WHY it was done. There are people in high positions of government that I do not trust & there's no telling what they might be up to.

  11. Jam 4:1 From whence [come] wars and fightings among you? [come they] not hence, [even] of your lusts that war in your members? The whole of James applies here. If man would simply love and serve God, he would not have to worry about things like this but covetousness and the love of money get the best of people who go about leaning upon their own understanding and fall into the various pits before them being consumed. God help us all. Gary

  12. Israel is continually in our prayers. [i have been wanting to do a comparison of Revelation to all the Scriptures referenced therein from the OT. Some of the Scriptures in Revelation have been fulfilled with some being current and others yet to be fulfilled, possibly. I am still unclear on whether there are times when prophecy may be fulfilled twice, as in the past and in the future, as in the defilement of the Temple. This is a subject for another thread.]

  13. Thank you for the post. Your refering to the The holocust, correct? Haven't read Isaiah in awhile, will look into to your reference. Gives me something to chew on. Yes, the Holocaust. The prophecy developed for me over a period of one year where I have been internally led to believe that the spiritual use of the name Ephraim is given unto the gentile court of the temple while the spiritual use of the name Manasseh is used for believing and blind Jews split in Jesus day prophesied about by the split of the tribe of Manasseh half on one side of Jordan and half on the other. This can be seen in Peter, the apostle to the Jews, and Paul, the apostle to the gentiles. Germany was 95% Christian by their census three years into Hitlers reign. The key is found in Gen 48 in the blessing Jacob gave to Josephs sons and following the development of that which is Ephraim through out scripture. All of the texts begin to open up and align correctly to reveal that which would befall the gentile portion of the church in the last days. Jeremiah 3, 2 Kings 17 and John 4 all tie in together as well to paint a picture that is understood in a prophetic manner. At least that is what I have been led to believe. The question is what is leading me? My hope is the Holy Spirit but only time will tell. Gary

  14. Yes, the Unions and Leftists win again. What's 80% of nothing? I sincerely had a discussion about this with the Cashier in Sam's Club today as I bought a Hostess value pack that they sell there. She said the Company was wrong and I asked her what was wrong about it as the issue was over the fact that the Company could no longer stay in business paying the Labor and Pension that it was. She said, "Well, maybe some of those folks are counting on their pension," and I agreed. Then I asked her, "What's 80% of nothing?" That's the issue. These folks ran the company out of business over a 20% cut now they have nothing. Of course. I live in MD and that didn't sit too well with some folks in line. LOL I asked them," when does it end?" Is it when we get to the status of Greece??????

  16. "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." John Adams (The Works of John Adams, ed. C. F. Adams, Boston: Little, Brown Co., 1851, 4:31) John Adams may have been right about Morality and our Republic, but I believe that mentality applies to ALL forms of government. Let me explain. The United States has encouraged democracy throughout the world. How's that worked out for us? Hamas was elected into power by the Palestinians, the Muslim Brotherhood has been elected into power in Egypt. I'm sure there are plenty of EVIL democracies in place. Some might even say that America has an evil democracy in place. The TYPE of government isn't the issue. It's the MORALITY of the government that's the issue. Let me provide you with an example. The people will flourish under a caring and benevolent dictator. The people will suffer under a harsh and unethical republic. Unfortunately, due to the depravity of man. There's no government that won't eventually become evil. EXCEPT. For the Theocracy that will be established once Jesus returns.

  17. The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked, who could know it? Make up does its job it causes you to be more attractive...I have sin in me. Yes those clothes look good on you....I have sin in me. Yes those bare portions of skin that you expose are very alluring....I have sin in me. God did a wonderful job creating the curves of the woman's body....I have sin in me. When I would to do good, evil is present with me. My spirit leads my eyes to the floor. Who will deliver me from the body of this death? Why do I have to have this thing warring in my members and working to bring me into captivity unto the law of sin and death? I delight after the law of God in the inward man and flee youthful lust. I have to protect myself with a religious vigor as my eyes are never full of seeing. Lord help me please not to be drawn away of my own lust and enticed. Lord God Almighty, if they only understood the pain and suffering that is experienced by a soul who suffers from weakness, they might understand....no, your right, they have sin in them too....Lord, please forgive us all. In Jesus Name, Gary

  18. Praying~! And Rejoicing In The KING OF THE Jew The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him. Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it. Zechariah 12:1-3 Bless His Holy Name

  19. It should go without saying that we ALL should be modest (in thought, word and deed), and always striving to keep our weaker brother (or sister) from stumbling. But this is TO the weaker brother or sister: Adam, when he was confronted by God shortly after the Fall, said something to the effect (paraphrasing): " . . . but the woman, who YOU gave to me . . . made me do it" God was not impressed. I don't think He is impressed with our excuses, either. Blessings! -Ed

  22. What a good idea. Ship the UN and all our leftists who want to remake the country over there -- then if they live long enough to straighten that part of the world out they would have reason to be allowed back into the country. The UN should not be allowed back however.
