  1. When does the Holy Spirit enter a person? When you feel Him in you, and others see Him in you. When you leave a room full of people, no matter how joyous or tense the situation may have been, and you leave the fragrance of the Spirit behind. And people know what it is, and they want what you have. You have then just witnessed to the Glory of Jesus...........

  2. The Boy Scouts of America is a private orginization. As such, they can set the standard for membership. Each member of the Boy Scouts must swear to the following Oath, and agree to obey the following law. If the member does not abide by the oath or law, the can lose their membership. The Boy Scouts have successfully defended their position on homosexuality based upon the "morally straight" clause of the pledge. Since the Oath also recognizes God, and the Law stipulates that all Boy Scouts are to be reverant, Athiests are also not allowed. btw... I'm an Eagle Scout. The Scout Oath On my honor I will do my best To do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; To help other people at all times; To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight. The Scout Law Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent.

  3. The scouts did not try to force the boy into believing in God. He was told that a belief in God was a requirement for entrance into the Scouts. This is not a secret or something that people find out about after being a part of the scouts for years, this is open and done first. The Scouts are a private organization and have every right under our constitution to set membership standards. I would sign my blood to this page! Those who do not choose to believe in the reality of God 'IS' God given.... but light and darkness does not mix! Love, Steven

  4. Lord Baden Powell started the Boy Scout movement stemming from war fought between South African farmers and the British army when South Africa was fighting Britain for independence. The first code of conduct in about 1904 stated they should be taught the following.. (1) How to aim and shoot miniature rifles; (2) How to judge distance; (3) How to Scout; (4) How to drill and skirmish, take cover etc. Members of the squad were to sign a paper containing the following:- (1) To fear God (2) Honour the King (3) Help the weak and distressed (4) Reverence women and be kind to children; (5) Train themselves to the use of arms for defense of their country (6) sacrifice themselves, their amusements, their property, and, if necessary, their lives for the good of their fellow-countrymen. A promise was to be made; I promise on my honour, to be loyal to the King and to back up my commander in carrying out our duty in each of the above particulars. Although Scouting has changed greatly since 1904, I guess the To fear God still applies (and so it should).

  5. Why did Paul make these statements in this passage? What does he mean when in v23 he says he has a desire to depart and be with Christ? Is Christ in the grave or in heaven? Phil 1:21-23 For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. 22 But if I live on in the flesh, this will mean fruit from my labor; yet what I shall choose I cannot tell. 23 For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better. What does Paul mean by this passage when he concludes that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord? Again, is Christ in the grave or in heaven. In both of these passages I've shown that Paul desires to go be with Christ, so the point is, where is Jesus now? 2 Cor 5:6-8 So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. 7 For we walk by faith, not by sight. 8 We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. Not to mention, Jesus has promised that He will never leave us nor forsake us, if the believer does not directly to heaven, do you suppose that Jesus is with them in the grave? Now I ask you, show some passages that says the believer does not go to be with the Lord when they die. And to say that the early NT believers did not believe that the saved went directly to be with the Lord is proven incorrect because the scripture teaches contrary to that idea. The verses I have shown tells us the Holy Spirit had Paul to tell all believers that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. That is early enough for me. And in 1 Thess 4:13-18 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. 15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words. The principle is always the same, the saints will be with the Lord.

  6. Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx recently called Barack Obama "our lord and savior." This occurred at the previously recorded Soul Train Awards broadcast on BET Sunday Video at link Read more: http://newsbusters.o...r#ixzz2DLAM5VVm Is this man serious, or is this what now passes for "humor." Don't know, and don't really care. Don't know whether to laugh - - - or cry. Blessings! (anyway) -Ed

  8. This is an interesting post/comment LadyC. I agree that this woman in Proverbs 31 probably had many servants working for and with her. A woman working for someone else completely acceptable I agree as not everyone is an entrepreneur – this goes for both men and women. Personally I was trying to focus more on the characteristics of a godly woman. She is trustworthy (v. 11), a positive influence (v. 12), a hard worker (v. 13, 14, 19, 24-27), a planner (v. 21, 22), and protective (v. 27) She is Delightful (v. 13), Healthy (v. 18), Compassionate (v. 20), Unselfish (v. 20), handles herself well in Public (v. 25). By the nature of the order listed of her achievements I think meeting the needs of her home (v. 15) comes before investing for her household. (v. 16) Her job is to help her husband be successful (v. 23). Now, if you’ve seen some of my posts (sevenseas can attest to this I believe) in the past I believe there is the argument that I’m a very strong supporter of women. My concern though is when the career is more important to a woman than her family. Of course I would argue the same thing would be a concern for men who put their careers above their family. God bless, GE

  9. I am not a Christian with one foot in and one foot out of Gods' kingdom. I will not agree to what Foxx said ...or try to make up some excuse for him ...because he is of the world and not a Christian. A Christian would not put Our Lord down like that , making man ..Obama...equal to Jesus Christ. I don't agree to this or find some excuse for Foxx. For I am a Christian and do know I am a represenitive of Jesus Christ . I am to represent my Lord and God and to defend Him . Foxx has no excuse he insulted our Lord and Savior ...

  10. I've heard much worse from other infamous people. It is offensive to Christians, but is humorous to our heathen antagonists in Hollywood. They can yuck it up and applaud all they want, but: Isa 45:23: I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth [in] righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear. They will kneel before Him and Confess He is Lord. The bible has been out for millennium, there's churches in every community, there's Christian programming, you can access the bible anytime you want to on the internet. They will have no excuse.

  11. This is unreal. I don't know why is shocks me I would not expect anything else from Hollywood. We really need to be praying for our country. Maybe if people boycotted Jamie Foxx and his shows he may change his toon.

  12. If he (Foxx) has any friends or acquaintences who are Christian, I hope and pray that they are inclined to show him the error of his ways. Chances are none of us (here at Worthiy, who are commenting on it) know his intent - was he just trying to be funny; was he trying to get attention; or was he serious. Obviously none of those possible scenarios excuse what he said - but it would be a starting point to know. If he was raised a Christian, then he surely DOES know better. I don't know - some people may be too "far gone". But it's not for us to know, is it? So the best response is - pray. Blessings! -Ed

  13. If Foxx is into black liberation theology, then with their view of collective salvation, it is possible he truly regards obama as his lord and savior.

  14. Thank you. Back in the 60s, John Lennon (of the Beatles) did much the same thing when he blurted out at a news conference or something that "we [the Beatles] are now more popular than Jesus". Not surprisingly, that comment created quite a negative stir in the world - and even Lennon (an atheist) found it expedient to backpeddle his comment some. I guess that says more about the world then compared to the world now. Celebrities have always (and will always) make outrageous comments. They do it for attention. And it works. Blessings! -Ed

  15. Blasphemy isn't funny. I agree with you on this ..Tinky. How can a man even speak such things out of his mouth to the world. Making Obama equal to a Lord or Savior or to make fun. There is only ONE Lord and Savior of all. That is Jesus Christ ! Why aren't the Christians protesting this Blasphemy ? Like the MB's do about their prophet. I find no humor in this at all !

  16. Saw that earlier somewhere else on the internet. I find it interesting that no one has ever applied this idea to any past candidate or president that "he is the SAVIOR" in stark Messianic overtone. I think it does show how .... mmmm..... circumspect that a large part of the electorate is... (sarc). I think this will get worse eventually when the real AntiChrist comes on stage, the delusion would be gripping and deep that it would cost lives literally if one refuse to goose-step to the programme.

  17. Blasphemy isn't funny. It really doesn't rise to blasphemy, Tinky, since it's not directed at the Lord but, rather, MISdirected toward President Obama. Jamie Foxx is known to say outrageous things and, in this case, you can add the word 'stupid' to his repertoire. I have a feeling that this was MEANT to create a firestorm and....look....it did.

  18. I thought too it might be humor...not....but Foxx is not known for his circumspect remarks or actions Seems every religion gets some respect but Christianity continues to be mocked...where is the outrage?
