  1. You can't. All you can do is yield yourself to God. If people are healed it's because God did it, not you. But, you can keep asking God to use you in this way. The bottom line is that either the anointing to heal is there or it isn't. It's not our power, but His. But you're better off learning from those who have this anointing. Heidi Baker is an example (though she doesn't sing). Spend more time in worship with Jesus, for the more you dwell in His presence, the more His presence will manifest through you. And that's when it gets exciting!

  2. Hello celebratejesus, Very nice topic you started. With me I have come to realize that our salvation is something we constantly have to work at it. Because Paul even talks about working out our salvation. For example, cleaning up on the outside meaning walk and talk a certain way, just brings no joy. Thats the difference between relationship and religion. Salvation is a inside job. Just like a garden, we can't work it out until you get something in the garden to work out. Things in our life that need changing like maybe our tongue. When God comes into our lives, He changes us little by little. Doesn't mean we will never slip up. Just means we working out our salvation. Reading and applying scriptures in our life is our responsibility for it is God who works in us. I think it is God that enriches our mind and challenges us. blessings, desi

  3. From my view, preterism must interpret much of scripture as symbolic, not literal. So in the case of Israel, the promises are not really and literally given to Israel and therefore Israel has no future promises. What impact does this have to the Jewish people? Well, from the preterist view vs the Jewish view, preterism teaches that God in the NT lied to the Jewish people. So, if the preterist view teaches that God lied to the Jewish people and the NT is the revelation of Jesus, can Jesus be viewed as the Messiah? In otherwords, the full preterist theology would lead Jewish people to reject Jesus as the Messiah.

  4. I understand the abuse that can come from a man who does not repent of his own self! True love looks for ways to serve the other as it helps relieve the overwhelming care, concern, desire for the others well being and happiness... Then there are those who profess love but it is always seems directed to themselves proofs in the pudding so to speak! But with all marriages there are two who vow as one and bind themselves in that vow, "in sickness and in health, for better or for worse, till death do I part," unto God himself they vow this... 6. Some people cannot handle the attention of being in front of the congregation but are tempted by pride as was satan the choir master. For that reason in our church we must stay in our seats and contribute the gift God has given. Perhaps it helps to remember that the gift is from God and you are just the vessel or bond slave who delivers in obedience. One of the best song leaders I have enjoyed would turn his back to the congregation as though he was one of us and, looking up, and his arms raised, just sing to bless the Lord. It encouraged us in the congregaion to join him in the same way. We would be caught up as though to sing before the Father. This is genuine worship. But as a special gift, I have to agree that singing from behind or while seated might make you more inconspicuous. I also agree that healing is God's business. God uses our pastor to heal but it is usually done in private so people don't readily know about it and even complain that these gifts don't go on in our church. Once when he preached in India, afterwards, not knowing the needs or speaking the language, he just prayed "God meet their needs". Thousands were saved, healed, marriages restored, people delivered from drugs and alcohol. He was later told this by the local pastors who had bussed the people to the open air meating. No one was more astounded than our Pastor. But a heart that desperately wishes that God meet the needs of the people, whatever they may be, probably had a tiny bit to do with it, as was his desire to simply obey God whether He uses us or not. Sometimes here in the USA people just want to see something spectacular or be entertained. God rarely performs. Jesus said that the children played the pipes but he did not dance. He did not come to entertain or even to fulfill their expectations. Nor should your desire be to entertain. It should be to simply obey God and to minister a blessing to the people in some way. Sometimes a word of encouragement through your music is what was needed more even than a healing. It is not important who conveys the message, only that God sent it and someone obeyed to deliver it. Sometimes it is better that we do not know how God uses a contribution so we don't get the idea that WE are something special. It would be sin if the people become thankful to us rather than to God.

  7. This is true. I just dont feel safe anymore. i know Jesus, but the church scares me. My Prayers are with you and for you ! I know what you are going through, i have been their many times by other Christians from other Churches you have to know something these are Spirit fill Christians & we are all human in the flesh, and not perfect, Only God Is ! Sometimes they forget who they are In Christ, and their flesh pops in, more like carnal Christians, their old ways pop up, one foot in the world, the other foot in Christ. Some Christians, not all, if you leave their Church & go to another, these Christian friends will have nothing to do with you anymore, saying you loose your salvation and some won't. or they may see you still have a sin in your life, maybe you don't see it that could be a old habit, i been their i was struggling with cigarettes, & yes i was being judge, my friends i still call them that as friends today even though they don't want anything to do with me because of my habit are told from the word to not be social with those of the world, because it might bring them into sin, and i understand that, & cigarettes are my weak spot now, and God is helping me in this area now. But in the mean-time these friends still think i'm still in the world because i smoke, they think i have to be perfect like them. But i don't point my finger's at them and tell them they have greed the love of money & pride in their life, i just pray for them. And love them. I can't change them, Only God can ! As far as the Church goes, don't walk away from going to Church, that is what satan wants you to do, the Church is the body of believers. God say's in His Word, do not for sake the assembly of the saints. We need each other to help build each one up, encourage each other, pray together, fellowship together, worship together, sing, praise, and learning & studying His word together, share burdens together etc. Maybe your problems are not the part of the body but the church your in ? Are you being convicted in your church, when your hearing the Word, are you being convicted by the spirit, if you are not , get out of that Church, you need to get yourself into a bible believing Church, that is on fire for the LORD ! But those who have hurt you, Forgive them and move on, and Pray that God, will bring other Christian friends to you, believe me He will ! When your doing the "Will" of God, and doing things for Him and studying His Word and living it, helping others, believe me you will forget those who have hurt you. God will bring so much peace and fill your spirit & heart with so much joy and His LOVE, the hurt will be gone. Lastly, when you get the thought about killing yourself, that is not of God, but of satan. Satan is out to destroy, he hates anyone who will follow Christ, and he preys on those who back slide or those who get out of God's word, read Eph. 6 study the whole armour of God, put it on you, cover yourself with it. And remember 1John 4:4- Greater is He that is in You, than he that is in the world. What it is saying here : Great is Christ who is in your life, than satan who lives in the world. This world is not our home were just passing through, but God has given each one of us to be ministers to go out and bring lost sheep to Him, until He comes back and were rapture up to go home. Theirs so much to do ! I don't know who you are , but God knows you & your hurts, and i pray that he will lift your spirits up and put the end to those who bully & hurt you, and i will continue to pray . thank you Louise your words are a blessing.

  9. What I loved about the original series was the creativity. Some things were (yeah) a bit hoaky. But you have to imagine the shoestring budget they had to shoot what virtually a 48 minute movie each week for 26 weeks a year. They did not have the computer processes we have today. They had no realistic predecessors to go by (Buck Rogers, Lost In Space, Forbidden Planet). And Shatner as over the top as he was at times kept life in the show. A bit much in the ego department but one heck of an actor. You should listen to some of the interviews with him about the nighmarish pace he had to learn scripts that would change with no notice... Hollywood was in a bit of a crisis in those days with television soaring and movies waning. People who were born in Vaudeville, grew up in radio, and were unemployed geniuses took any work they could get which is why the production and musical scores of the Original Star Trek Series were as great as they were. Again, the budge was small, so the backdrops etc did look a bit fake but my goodness has anyone ever seen how fake the set on a play looks? Even on Broadway! It's the craft of the artists and musicians that makes the show. And what insight Roddenberry and Franz Joseph and Harve Bennett had keeping the show as believable as possible. My hats off to the TOS version as the one who started with a blank slate.

  10. Many of us are going through this. The amplified version concurs with Kenneth Wuest's Expanded Version of Hebrews 13:5-6 Let your manner of life be without love of money, being content with your present circumstances. For He Himself has said, and the statement is on record, I will not, I will not cease to sustain and uphold you. I will not, I will not, I will not let you down. So that, being of good courage, we are saying, The Lord is my Helper. I will not fear. What shall man do to me? And I am leaning heavily on the above promise because I am terrified of dentists. And since I broke my molar yesterday and a large filling fell out, I have mixed feelings about going to the dentist tomarrow. Maybe he will fix it with a temp, but I will certainly need a crown. Right now it is hard to eat and the tooth is very sharp. I stuffed wax into it, Oh, well. This too shall pass. I do identify with your grief of loss of function. We used to enjoy birdwatching and traveling in WA and OR. But we have been able to do very little in the last 3 years either. Often I miss church, too, and as my favorite psalm expresses, I love praising God in the assembly. It is even grievous to be unable to do so. The inversion caused me to lose my voice. Some gravely squeeky sounds have come back since the wind has come through. I guess we need to rejoice in what we are able to do. I can still: use my fingers to post, walk into church without help, praise God in my heart. I can hear fairly well, drive, see better after catarac removal, breath with the help of medication, and manage pain with meds. God has been faithful to His word. I can still enjoy the photos that hubby took in the past. God has answered so many prayers: saved hubby and our sons, their wives and most of our grand kids (but I continue to pray for them to make strong commitments to Him). How dare I be afraid with such a faithful and loving Father at hand?

  11. Yes, so is Shatner and Grace Lee Whitney (Janice Rand). ST Founder Gene Roddenberry said it was like a Jewish club he was excluded from. Grace Lee is a Messianic Jew (believer in Jesus). Neat lady. Though I must admit as a small boy when the series first aired I was more interested in her in appearance than her personality. Nimoy's father was in hardware, and he always kept an opening for his son should his acting aspirations not pay off... LOL a good father.

  12. The early Star Trek episodes were generally better than the Next Generation and what followed because they had to rely on well-written scripts and seasoned acting instead of computer generated special effects. I think some of the drama was in the interplay between Kirk, Spock and McCoy -- three characters based on a similar command triad in Forbidden Planet that was frankly Freudian: McCoy was the symbolic id -- he was called a sensualist by Spock in one episode -- the superego was the all-too logical Spock and Kirk -- aptly the ego -- often had to decide on a plan of action between their conflicting advice, like the angel and devil on one's shoulder in cartoons. You know that Star Wars is for children when you attend a public showing and all the adults in the audience are reading the opening lines to their kids.

  13. Mediocre, but a prequel was an interesting thought. Except they changed the timeline, and then employed their over-used time-travelling changing history plot to account for everything being different. Sigh.

  14. What does scripture say about the last days, which one is it? I believe it's a falling away. Matt 7:13 "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. Scary huh?? All these mega churches and false miracles.

The only reason hes still in office is because hes the first black president-had he been white, he would have been impeached by now, but his popularity is getting so low, it may not take much more.

  16. His writings is a bit dry, but the late Doctor A.E. Wilder-Smith (holder of three earned Phd's) began as an old universe atheistic evolutionist and came to faith and later to YEC. One of his many points was the mathematics conjecture often purported as truth yet having no evidence was palmed off as science and scientific facts. Then to support it they would use the circular reasoning of the calibration of dating methods based on the geological record which was based on the calibration of dating methods. Throw in the several frauds like Piltdown man and Nebraska man (family) and a massive cover ups throughout the macro-evolutionary tyranny of the last 90 years... and you have nothing but the mathematics conjecture beyond the evidence for a 7 to 10 thousand year old creation. Before he passed away in his 90's Wilder-Smith did not comment on the decay of c. paper by Barry Setterfield and Trever Norman but he was aware of their work. Most in the scientific community have vehemently opposed the work but have not actually refuted it. A situation I am somewhat familiar with in the truth I try to share in my circles of influence. Baffling and bullying do not prove anything. Old age creationists and macro evolutionists have proved nothing.

  18. I like it. Sometimes I wonder if one of our jobs in Heaven will be to explore and marvel at God's Creation. I think I could be happy exploring the farthest reaches of the universe and taking in the beauty of it all. I really liked Stargate Universe and was so disappointed that it got cancelled.

  19. If security is such a priority for the 1st family, then I believe it would be in the best interests of the US to grant them only authorized vacation locations. Such as Camp David. You cannot seek the office of President, then just expect to live life normally at everyone else's expense. No one is forced to run for President. This is a gross abuse and misuse of the treasury.

  20. That is sexist. Women have rights. I am not property except to God. I will not obey a man. Slavery is wrong. I suggest you study these passages1 Cor 6:19-20 19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. KJV Gal 5:13 13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. KJV By the letter of law we are not slaves but by The Love of God we are slaves to one another as The Church the Bride and the Husband our Lord! Love, Steven No. i will not be a slave to a man. I spent 13 years as a subservient female slave and I am NOT going back. Women are not property.

  22. Abel brought the firstborn of his flock. However, Cain brought some fruits of the soil. Remember, sin had now entered the world and fellowship with G-d could not go without the covering of those sins. He. 9:22 reminds us that "without the shedding of blood there is not forgiveness of sins. G-d set up this offering system for various reasons and times. We get a better understanding of these offering through Moses' writings. Because there were fat portions involved in Abel's offering it was probably the required time for the Sin Offering that was for payment of unintentional sins of uncleaness, neglect or thoughtlessness. G-d's response to Cain indicates that "if you do what is right, will you not be accepted"? In other words, Cain probably brought a Grain Offering that was voluntary and was used as an expression of gratitude instead. It was not the time for that offering. He decided to do it his way instead of G-d's way. The true essence of sin. In Hebrews 11, "By faith, Abel offered a better sacrifice". Faith comes by believing. He believed G-d and obeyed Him. The expression of true faith. Remember, they were vegetarians and did not eat meat. Ge.1: 29-30. They did not eat meat until after Noah exited the ark. Ge.9:3. These flocks would be primarily used for the needed sacrifices. Secondarily, they would be used for clothing or milk. G-d's instructions obviously were handed down orally, because we see that the first thing Noah does when he exits the ark is to build an alter and made an offering to the L-rd. I am sure that after being in the ark for over a year, that there were some sins that needed to be covered.

All those who are born during the Millenium will enjoy the benefits and blessings of Christ's reign, but they will still be born with a sin nature, and they will still have to freely repent and believe the Gospel.Yet,at the end of the Millenial Reign,Satan is loosed and is able to deceive a vast multitude to follow him in a final rebellion against the Lord. Revelation 20:7 Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison
