  2. I do not understand what you hear with this? Search the Scriptures: = Jesus tells them they need to search the Scriptures - not learn the Scriptures nor read the Scriptures, but search the Scriptures - meaning "look for the witness there." for in them ye think ye have eternal life: = They think they have eternal life in the Scriptures. and they are they which testify of me. = But the Scriptures actually testify of Jesus. Jesus is saying that the evidene of who He is in right there in the Scriptures. Of course, I find it very odd to hear anyone claim that the Pharisees did not know the Scriptures. "...[The Pharisees] were concerned that the spiritual life of the people should be centered in the Torah and the Synagogue. While the Sadducean priesthood prided itself upon its aristocracy of blood (Sanh. iv. 2; Mid. v. 4; Ket. 25a; Josephus, "Contra Ap." i., § 7), the Pharisees created an aristocracy of learning instead, declaring a bastard who is a student of the Law to be higher in rank than an ignorant high priest (Hor. 13a), " http://www.jewishencyclopedia.com/articles/12087-pharisees

  3. Yes Beloved Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar. Proverbs 30:5-6 Strangely And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. Luke 4:4 It But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 1 Corinthians 15:20-22 Is True Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever. Psalms 119:160 ~ And As For Fellowship Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore. Psalms 133 What A Treasure You Are As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country. Proverbs 25:25 ~ Be Blessed Beloved Of The KING The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them. Numbers 6:24-27 Love, Your Brother Joe

  4. Right. The enemies of Christ are cowards and too afraid to say anything critical of islam. They want to keep their empty heads on their shoulders. This man is now a martyr as he died because of his faith. Spot on.

  5. On "The Day of the Lord" (Day of YHWH) the starting place is a concordance search for the phrase. See if your careful & honest (no axe to grind) examination does not convince you that it is a time of judgment & punishment -- and never either the Rapture nor the 2nd Coming per se. Some have gone astray in interpreting 1 Thes 5:1 by not realizing that. Amos 5: 18 Woe to you that desire the Day of YHWH! Wherefore would ye have the Day of YHWH? It is darkness, and not light. 19 As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him. 20 Shall not the Day of YHWH be darkness and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it?

  7. Good comments, Oakwood. IMHO: I knew a guy who was nuts on the number 666. Like the following: He used to fill up a YouTube forum with his garbage, posting all kinds of references to 666, lists of phone numbers that had it, addresses that had 666 in it -- as if there were something sinister about those who had such phone numbers or addresses. He would pull out documents where some section was labeled #666 (say after 665 & before 667) as if he had exposed sinister plot, like for example, the minutes of some Lutheran agency or RCC agency. And this went on day after day! He was also nuts on the RCC! This can be a form of Newspaper Exegesis, whereby someone (like a TV sensationalist) raises a lot of dust over something in the news that is supposedly a fulfillment of the signs in Mat 24. Do you recall how some were sensationalizing the year 2000, like all the computers would fail & civilization might collapse! This kind of thing serves the enemy well, by bringing the Bible & prophecy into disrepute, as for example setting dates for the Rapture & the End of the World (May 21, 2011). Thanks for some good comments.

  9. Well, I can't disagree with you about the quality of the Koran.... however I would just remind you that they believe that we have perverted and changed the Bible and that is what they are taught from birth...... And since I am privy to the ten year plan that the Muslim Brotherhood has in place to subvert the constitution and bring this country down from the inside and are well along into accomplishing that plan, it is in my best interest to keep up with what they are doing... It is imperative that I care a lot more than an iota what Muslims think about many things...... and you should also.

  11. While I won't argue that it was Satan warring against the believers, the claim that the Believers in Jesus were predominantly Jewish at first is rather odd. The original believers were all Jewish! The ~120 in the Upper Room on Pentecost were all Jewish. The 3000 who were added to their numbers that day were all Jewish. It was not until some unknown time later when Peter went to Cornelius that we began seeing Gentiles added into the faith. Unless you read things differently in Acts?

  13. Not their religion though is it? Noah has nothing whatsoever to do with Islam! Noah is who he is in the Bible, things don't really change till you get to Issac and Ishmael. Stories are kind of the same in the Koran except that the stories are all broken up because of the format. Until you get to Ishmael, and the promise goes to his side of the family and it all goes down hill from there. Actually a lot of Sharia law stems from the old testament legal system including all the barbaric things that were required of the early Hebrews. They didn't just make up the law about killing homosexuals.... anyway, we don't need a lecture on sharia... It really doesn't take that long to read the Koran...... I am guessing that it would not hurt any of us to read just once. We might understand what makes them tick.

  15. The point of the comment, which you are joyfully harping on , was the fact that it is written Deut 17:6 6 At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is worthy of death be put to death; but at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death. KJV As this was the directive from which I took the plural out of Sadducees and Pharisees and indicated that if only the one of each group made up two- yet there was plural and the fact she was caught in the very act 'Which the Lord did not deny was true'... I summoned you to 'why' did you not ask the Lord - why did you not stone her! Your misunderstanding of what I wrote and your apparent conlusion over your misunderstanding to view me as a neophyte have been well recorded ... The whole of the interaction was to get you to see Jesus was fulfilling His Word as to His purpose in coming as per The Will of The Father John 3:17 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. KJV As you know the law was completed in The Lord and it is His Life that we wear... Within should be The very Same Spirit that Was He! The fact that today with the increase of sin to such a proportion that The Love of God within us-> we are growing cold to the point of religious bent in our pursuit of Him in eat this way, wear that way etc. ... Let's not and return to the heart of the matter. To put it simply the long and short haired people are doing the same sins thus we can no longer distinguish ourselves in our beliefs by the hair and as it is God Who examines the heart! Let it be there and not reliance on the letter of doing by appearance sake when it is pointless any longer for doing so! Love, Steven

  16. The origin of the name Israel (Yisra'el) comes from the original Hebrew: Yish (he) Sarar (prince)* elohiym (God) *8323 sarar { saw-rar’} a primitive root; TWOT - 2295; v AV - rule 3, make prince 1, altogether 1; 5 GK - 8606 { שָׂרַר } 1) to be or act as prince, rule, contend, have power, prevail over, reign, govern 1a) (Qal) to rule over, govern 1b) (Hithpael) to lord it over The ultimate Prince of God is Yeshua (Jesus). And if we realized who we are in the Spirit... we would be called by his name Israel.

  17. In John 3, remarkable statements are made about the Christian's inability to sin. 6 Whosoever abides in him sinneth not: whosoever sins hath not seen him, neither knows him. 7 My little children, let no man lead you astray: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous: 8 he that doeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. To this end was the Son of God manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whosoever is begotten of God doeth no sin, because his seed abideth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is begotten of God. 10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. At first glance the reader may think he is reading an impossible & fantastic claim, namely that the Christian cannot sin; though we Christians know full well that we sin frequently. Also James tells us that in many ways we stumble (present tense). Thus, many interpreters have sought some explanation of how it is that this verse seems to say we cannot sin, while we sin. The desire seems to be to relieve the text of stating an absurdity, that Christians don't sin. Refuge has been sought in the doctrine that the Greek present tense means habitual or continual action. Thus the passage is re-translated "he cannot sin habitually" or "cannot sin continually." However, the Greek text has no word that means "habitually" or "continually" in it. The Greek present tense can be used where action is habitual or continuous; yet the present tense in & of itself does not mean "habitual" nor "continual." Now if one searches the internet, one can find both affirmation & denial of the "continual" claim for the present tense. Here is Greek: "πᾶς ὁ γεγεννημένος ἐκ τοῦ θεοῦ οὐχ ἁμαρτάνει" πᾶς = everyone ὁ the ὁ γεγεννημένος = the one begotten ἐκ = out of ἐκ τοῦ θεοῦ = out of (the) God οὐχ = not ἁμαρτάνει = sins οὐχ ἁμαρτάνει = does not sin. No word that means habitual occurs. ἁμαρτάνει is a present tense verb, and the present tense may be sometimes used where the action is habitual. I rule out that possible usage because in fact Christians do habitually sin. The present active does not mean continuous -- Tho it can be used where the action is continuous. (IMHO, the idea that present means continous & aorist always means punctiliar has been seized on by ignorant preachers & thus spread.) < James 3 "πολλὰ γὰρ πταίομεν ἅπαντες." For in many things we all stumble." ptaiomen = present active indicative 1 Plural. If the present had to mean continuous, this would mean "For in many things we all continuously stumble"!!! "but as it is, I wrote unto you not to keep company, if any man that is named a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such a one no, not to eat." μηδὲ συνεσθίειν. Sunesthiein = present active infinitive. Paul is not telling them yes, you may eat on occasion with the fornicator, but don't you continually eat with him. In the same way, IMHO, 1 John is not telling them that yes Chrs sin, but they don't sin continually. To express continually in Greek one may use διὰ παντὸς (dia pantos). < Heb 13 "Through him then let us offer up a sacrifice of praise to God continually" The verb is ἀναφέρωμεν anapherōmen = present active. Thus we see that while the present can be used when an action is continuous, the verb by itself does not specify continuous. IMHO, those who claim "continual" display ignorance of Greek or a superficial understanding of Greek. If the present tense had to mean "continual," then one would be forced to read James to say that in many ways we all continually stumble, that is continually sin! Think for a moment. Can Christians continually sin? James at least implies that we habitually sin. Now what about "continually"? The Christian does have a carnal state in which he sins: "Are ye not carnal?" 1 Cor says. Romans 7 speaks of a Christian in the carnal mode: "I am carnal, sold under sin." Now how long can a state of carnality last? Isn't everything a man does in the carnal state sin? If the Corinthians lived 1 month in a state of carnality, would that not be continual sin? What about 1 hour of carnality? Would not the carnal man be sinning continually during the hour? If we say that "continual" means forever, of course eventually a Christian stops sinning; for as Peter tells us, he who suffers in the flesh ceases from sin -- which I take to mean when you die you stop sinning. So if Christians indeed are capable of living in a continual sinful state (whereby the admonition is "Awake thou that sleepest & Christ will dawn upon thee," and "Put on the Lord Jesus Christ and make no provision for the flesh"), then the "continually" interpretation of 1 John 3 is wrong. Fortunately, the "continually" interpretation is not the only way to reconcile what John says with reality. I put it to you that a better explanation is that John speaks of the New Nature which cannot sin because is begotten of God. Moreover, to enjoy the non-sinning state, the text indicates that we must abide in (fellowship with) Christ. This makes sense to me. It seems to me if our new nature did sin, we should be "lost again" -- and never truly saved; our new nature would be defiled & we would need another regeneration! My interpretation of 1 John 3 is consistent with Romans 7 where a strange interchange of I's and me's is found. It is clear that the Christian has two different ego's or I's (an old & a new). With regard to the Christian sinning it is said, "It is no longer I [sinning], but Sin [is sinning]." "I am carnal, sold under sin. 15 For that which I do I know not: for not what I would, that do I practice; but what I hate, that I do. 16 But if what I would not, that I do, I consent unto the law that it is good. 17 So now it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwelleth in me. 18 For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwells no good thing; . . ." The Christian has an evil me and a righteous me, an old nature & a new nature. Consider that the context of 1 John is abiding in Christ, an expansion of the theme of John 15. Whosoever abides in him sinneth not. This statement does not mean that if you abide in Christ you will not continually sin; it means that when you abide in Christ you never sin while in that condition. How could one abide in (fellowship with) Christ and be sinning?" How could one be abiding in Christ with Gal 2:20-21 fulfilled, ("no longer I but Christ lives in me . . . I live in faith in the Son of God . . . ) and yet be sinning? So brethren, finding that 1 John 3 speaks of the New Nature which does not sin, makes much more sense to me that trying to force the present tense (without dia pantos = διὰ pαντὸς) to mean continually.

  18. What is the obvious conclusion? I dunno. Whatever the Word of God says. 1) God is the God of ALL men, and in Him, there is neither Jew NOR Gentile. 2) That the Jews were broken off, and we shouldn't boast at their fall? 3) Or maybe that Isaiah also showed that the TRUE ISRAEL was all the saints. Yup. That would include Abel, Noah, Enoch, Job (who was probably a Middle Easterner - Asian), Melchezidek, Jethro, and a host of others who certainly were not "Israelites". Doubling that, Paul himself said that a REAL JEW is one who is such INWARDLY, not of bloodright. So, yes, of course all of Israel will be saved ... once you know who ISRAEL actually is. But of course, concerning the NATURAL SEED, well, all one really needs to do is read Ezekiel, Jeremiah, Isaiah ... to see what GOD has to say about that. Last I could read, the vast majority of them were sinful, blotted out of His Book, stricken with trouble due to their rebellion, even Jesus said they could not escape the damnation of Hell ... and rewind, I see "only a REMNANT will be saved" Even the sealed 144,000 in Revelation is less than 0% of the total Jewish population on planet earth. The brings the word "remnant" into prospective doesn't it? 4) Maybe the point is the ADOPTION? But that is called Gods "GOOD PLEASURE" ... so, I'd suggest all men be careful with these sort of topics that try to drive a wedge between Jew and Gentile. Scriptures themselves warn of this very thing. And concerning adoption, an adopted child has FULL LEGAL RIGHT to everything by the parent, including inheritance. In fact, it is against the Law for the parent to not take care of the child with full benefits. Same thing applies in Gods Kingdom ... for He is no respecter of persons. Jesus Himself say, "don't kid yourselves just cause you think you can hide behind your bloodties to Abraham. God can make these lifeless STONES into sons of Abraham." Jesus also said that it will be a terrible thing for them when they see their forefathers enter, yet they themselves are cast out. 5) And Paul was not teaching a new thing. Moses himself said to circumcise the foreskins of your heart. Paul likewise is saying that true circumcision, is TRUE repentance, not nationality. These are the true children of God.

  19. It is a theory because "habitual" does not occur in the text. How can one say that one does something every day, yet it is not a habit? Now first we have a theory, that it is habitual (not in text). So the text is changed from "does not sin" to "does not habitually sin." Then we have another theory that habitual refers to a lifestyle. So the text is changed from "does not sin" to "Does not have a sinful lifestyle." Next we have a theory that lifestyle means unrepentant over the lifestyle. So the text is changed from "does not sin" to "Does not have a sinful lifestyle for which there is no repentance." Next we have a theory that the text means enjoyment. So the text is changed from "does not sin" to "Does not have a sinful lifestyle for which there is no repentance, but the sin is enjoyed." Is it not a stretch to add all that to "does not sin"? If one watches porn & lusts over the images every day, is that not a habitual sin, regardless of conviction and/or remorse? Your post: "But habitual, continuous practice of sin carries with the strong connotation of someone who is unrepentant about how they are living. If I can make a habit of daily viewing porn, and feel no conviction about it, no remorse? If can live that way and enjoy it, I am not born of God, according to I John 3:9. Same goes for any other kind of sexual immorality, drunkness, lying, stealing/cheating... If I can live in sin and enjoy it, I am not a believer." Where does 1 John 3:9 talk about living in sin & enjoying? It says ASV, "Whosoever is begotten of God doeth no sin, because his seed abideth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is begotten of God." Has it ever occurred to you that perhaps this might be speaking about the New Nature which is the only thing begotten of God in a Christian? As it says in Rom 7, It is no longer I that sin, but sin dwelling in me. "15 For that which I do I know not: for not what I would, that do I practice; but what I hate, that I do. 16 But if what I would not, that I do, I consent unto the law that it is good. 17 So now it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwelleth in me."
