  1. Common mistake. Proofs are only valid in math. There are laws of gravity, but the mechanics of why those laws behave the way they do is theory. No, it's not a mistake. Gravity is not a theory. A quantum theory for gravity is, but not gravity itself. If you're going to go down that line then everything in science is a theory because once you get down to reasons behind reasons, well..... where does it finish? Gravity is described by gravitational theory. If you think otherwise, you do not have a fundamental understanding of science. Theory is science's highest order...theories cannot be proven only disproven. As far as this sub forum, you should stick to the faith side and avoid science if you cannot understand such a basic concept. How do you know that I'm not a scientist? Do you know what I studied at University? I happen to have studied Chemistry. I very familiar with Physics, quantum theory, Nuclear physics, Radiochemistry and Nuclear chemistry. Please do not patronise me.

  3. This would be a huge problem but for one thing, the Holy Spirit. I don't know about you, but I have faith that the Holy Spirit is able to get past these things, and even some of the untruths put on websites like this! Which is really kind of presumptuous. The fact is that not everyone is all that mature in their walk with the Lord, they are not listening to the Holy Spirit and in many cases many who see the movie have no relationship with God at all, much less any sensitivity to the Holy Spirit. It may not be stumbling block for people mature in the faith, but is rather reckless and presumptuous to think the Holy Spirit is just going to clean up after everyone. Well interesting response ... do people become followers of Jesus through their own knowledge or the power of the Holy Spirit? Does the HS only work in mature Christians?

  4. I dont think he believes in revelation. He recommends a book called raptureless which claims..... The fear created by the expectation of a coming antichrist and a great tribulation are keeping many believers in bondage. And the author tackles the sacred cow of end times according to the book reviews. One review indicates the author thinks revelation has happened already. So given that he recommends that book, I am not sold on the rest of what he has to say.

  5. What he said there can make for an interesting topic of discussion all by itself. While I agree that Revelation indicates the Great Tribulation will be horendous to live through, I can appreciate a part of where his reaction comes from - we seem to focus more on what Satan is doing in the world that what God is doing. Yes, things are going to get worse and painful and hard, yes evil will encrease. But in reading Revelation, should we not see the hand of God? Should we not relish more on what God is doing than in woeing over the evil?

  6. I also disagree with Number 6. 6) The world is going to get worse and worse before Jesus returns. I read in the comments section that a person disagreed, and they mentioned Kingdom Now Theology. Of course, if the author is Kingdom Now, they would view the world as going to get better since Kingdom Now teaches that Christians need to take over, rule and reign, in order for Jesus to return. Christians are to make the world His footstool. Jesus returns and the world will be better, but before, scripture says that things will 'wax worse'. There will be a great falling away. Etc.

  7. So should Christians give more airtime time to evolutionists? I would think it would depend on the topic of the program. Any topic on the fallacy of evolution or the Big Bang theory minus God? Because that's what the Cosmos series does. It eliminates God from the equation. That's ok for the producers and unbelievers. But the moment God is mentioned it's a problem? One cannot have ones cake and eat it as the old proverb goes....

  9. Psalms 111:4 He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the LORD is gracious and full of compassion. A farmer was showing his visiting citydwelling friend around his farm. "Watch this!" he said. He gave a whistle and his little dog came running from the house, herded the cattle into the corral, then latched the gate with her paw. "Wow, that's some dog — what's her name?" The forgetful farmer thought for a minute and then asked, "What do you call that red flower that smells good and has thorns on the stem?" "A rose?" "That's it!" The farmer turned to his wife. "Hey Rose, what do we call this dog?" Funny how we forget things, isn't it? But I'm not so sure God finds it all that funny! When we read about the children of Israel and their journeys through the wilderness for forty years, we see how God provided wonderful miracles for them, feeding them daily with manna, guiding them by a pillar of fire by night and a cloud by day, parting the Red Sea! How is it, then, that they became so very hard hearted toward Him? Over time, I think those miracles just became commonplace and they began to take them for granted! But then again when I look back on my life, I can't really blame them. It happens to the best of us! God has done miracles in our lives and I'm sure he's done many in each of yours as well! But we still get anxious when things aren't going quite the way we hoped, don't we? Recall a miracle of God in your life. Remember the joy you felt? We need to relive that joy today! The miracle of God's new birth in us and the many other miracles God has done are not ones to be quickly forgotten. We need to relive them daily! We never want to become cold toward God! Let's spend some time remembering the miracles He has done in our lives and strive to trust Him for the trials we face today! View the full article

  10. ~ Beloved Speaking Of God Jesus Was Not Born An Arab But A Jew As Any Bible Believing Christian, Arab Or No Can Tell You Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Matthew 1:23 For God's Birth Name In Hebrew Is Yeshua (Salvation) Not Allah And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Matthew 1:21 But If You Wish To Call Him Allah (God) That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; Philippians 2:10 It's A-OK By Me Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6 You For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

  11. I've never heard a Christian group appeal to tradition in favour of keeping marriage between a man and a woman. It's a bad analogy. Race and ethnicity cannot be changed, whereas homosexuality is a behaviour. Secondly race or ethnicity has nothing to do with marriage. Gender, however has everything to do with marriage. Not true, because governments have always recognised that the natural union between a man and a woman is what produces the next generation, as a rule, as a group and by nature. Homosexual unions as a rule, as a group and by nature do not produce the next generation. There is also no reason why marriage should be redefined to suite whatever people want it to mean. I don't think laws are meant to change the minds of those who break it. The question isn't even about allowing gays to do what they want, they already have that freedom, the question is whether government ought to promote same sex unions by declaring that it is no different from a natural marriage. I'm sorry Luft. I shouldn't have said literal Christian group...I was speaking hypothetically. I apologize. Also I wasn't saying the the race/tradition argument was a correct one, but just one that could not be used to justify labelling a marriage legally between a man and a woman. Again I'm not speaking from the point of view of the Christian, I speaking from the point of what is legal for each state. I didn't understand your response to my procreation argument so could you please clarify? Thanks. How does marriage being redefined affect you personally? Are you still able to get married? Then if them getting married doesn't hurt you physically impede on your right to exist leave it to God. Continue to preach against it as sin and ushing in the 2nd coming of Christ. I'm tired of this world aren't you? I knew things would change sooner or later whether I liked it or not. But things have to happen in order for prophecy to be fullfilled. Why do we want to stay on this earth? I think you were deliberately careful to say 'physical' harm. We know that gay marriage would harm, does it matter if it's physical or not? What's less harmful about mental or emotional harm? The fact of the matter is that we will no longer be able to teach our children that same sex relationships/marriage are immoral. If you think we can, then you don't have a grip on society. Homosexuality is now considered an amoral act, it is viewed as neither good nor bad. So gay marriage has become amoral, and it's viewed as natural and acceptable. Gay marriage is the homosexual societies way of convincing themselves that homosexual behavior is acceptable, which is why they stamp their feet and demand rights. So what happens when children are taught about gay relationships? Eventually schools will begin educating students on same sex relationships, it's just a matter of time. It will be passed as some sort of equality bill. This would detract from what I plan to teach my children when asked- homosexuality is wrong. So does gay marriage effect me? Yes. Will it harm people? Yes, children will have Christian parents shunning homosexuality, but society viewing it as an 'ok' thing. Yes, homosexual marriage harms me.
