  1. Since everyone has sinned, everyone is destined for hell. The only thing that saves is faith in Jesus. How do you think folks get saved? Do you think everyone has that belief, that saving faith, in Jesus? I already answered your question in the quote. Think about it. So God can't do it? How weak do you think God is? When did I say "God only has to warn people and they will do whatever he says."? I said the bible doesn't say anyone goes to hell. Can you find anyone that we know for sure is in hell? No. You can't. Try to read what I said again and I think you will get it. as I said...you are making the choice to keep this going and refusing to accept scripture at it's face value. What God can do is keep his promise and his Word.... His Word says...2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slow concerning His promise, as some count slowness, but is long-suffering toward us, not purposing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2Pe 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a rushing noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat. And the earth and the works in it will be burned up. Mat 7:21 Not everyone who says to Me, Lord! Lord! shall enter the kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in Heaven. Mat 7:22 Many will say to Me in that day, Lord! Lord! Did we not prophesy in Your name, and through Your name throw out demons, and through Your name do many wonderful works? Mat 7:23 And then I will say to them I never knew you! Depart from Me, those working lawlessness!

  2. As one light mentioned: James 1: 2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. 1 Cor 10: 12 Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. 13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. Tests, and trials is how we mature as Christians....by occasionally being put in the smelters fire , we slowly have the impurities drawn away. It is how we come to know the sureness of the delivery of God....it strengthens us and it matures us Now....as you see 1 Cor 10 says it is not beyond what we can handle....so pure suffering....is probably NOT this.

  3. To be very honest if I had the choice of being in the 1% or the 99%, I would choose the 1%. Do I love money? Those who know me well enough will tell you no.

  4. I think this is true if money comes too fast and the person is not trained to handle it. The speed at which you attain money is usually the speed it goes as well as it takes a lot of wisdom to handle large wealth. People who think they could get rich with lottery (poor man's tax) are usually not wise with money, so it is not surprising that they lose their money just as fast. I also know people with a lot of money that have been really wise with the wealth, and used it in godly ways. The difference is they have been wise with money when they had little, so they are prepared to be wise with money when they have much.

  5. Being top 1% of the world isn't all that out of reach though. It takes around about $2.7 million dollars in assets to qualify according to average figures, not completely unattainable for the average retiring American.

  7. In addition to the other post... Yes He can if He has to in certain circumstances: Job 1 1 In the land of Uz there lived a man whose name was Job. This man was blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil. 2 He had seven sons and three daughters, 3 and he owned seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen and five hundred donkeys, and had a large number of servants. He was the greatest man among all the people of the East. 4 His sons used to hold feasts in their homes on their birthdays, and they would invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them. 5 When a period of feasting had run its course, Job would make arrangements for them to be purified. Early in the morning he would sacrifice a burnt offering for each of them, thinking, “Perhaps my children have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.” This was Job’s regular custom. 6 One day the angels[a] came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came with them. 7 The Lord said to Satan, “Where have you come from?” Satan answered the Lord, “From roaming throughout the earth, going back and forth on it.” 8 Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.” 9 “Does Job fear God for nothing?” Satan replied. 10 “Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land. 11 But now stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face.” 12 The Lord said to Satan, “Very well, then, everything he has is in your power, but on the man himself do not lay a finger.” Then Satan went out from the presence of the Lord. 13 One day when Job’s sons and daughters were feasting and drinking wine at the oldest brother’s house, 14 a messenger came to Job and said, “The oxen were plowing and the donkeys were grazing nearby, 15 and the Sabeans attacked and made off with them. They put the servants to the sword, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!” 16 While he was still speaking, another messenger came and said, “The fire of God fell from the heavens and burned up the sheep and the servants, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!” 17 While he was still speaking, another messenger came and said, “The Chaldeans formed three raiding parties and swept down on your camels and made off with them. They put the servants to the sword, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!” 18 While he was still speaking, yet another messenger came and said, “Your sons and daughters were feasting and drinking wine at the oldest brother’s house, 19 when suddenly a mighty wind swept in from the desert and struck the four corners of the house. It collapsed on them and they are dead, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!” 20 At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship 21 and said: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart.[c] The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.” 22 In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing.

  8. Romans 5 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

  9. Blessings Jerry I believe God does "allow" suffering,,,,,,,,,I could not begin to know the reasons God allows the things He does and I would imagine that there are different reasons for different people but one thing is for sure........everything He does allow in our lives(those that love Him) is for our good and the purpose of His calling With love-in Christ,Kwik

  11. OneofGodsown, by your own words, you claim you do not study Gods word enough, proving to me that you do not understand the basics of Christianity. Your thread has continued in hopes that you will listen to those who are telling you the truth, yet you now claim you found in scripture that God will not allow anyone to go to hell. That is false. What is true is that if one continues in Christ, as scripture shows us how, they will make it. If one decided not to follow scripture, and gamble that they will be given a free pass, they will be disappointed for scripture tells us, in many many places, that those who do not follow Jesus will perish. What you are saying is a slap in the face of Christ Jesus, who died for our sins, and false teaching. To me, your belief is in line with that of Universalism, which is a false doctrine and not allowed to be taught here ... it is that bad. I also question why you refuse what people are showing you in scripture. I urge you, and encourage you, to take scripture seriously and not some pipe dream.

  13. Luke 16:22-24 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; 23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. The bible repeatedly tells us we have the choice, but we do not know how long we will live to make this choice, now is the time to answer Jesus who calls to us, and most assuredly there are many who miss the narrow road.

  15. I think you are missing... Rom 1:24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves. 2Th 2:8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the breath of His mouth and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming, 2Th 2:9 whose coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 2Th 2:10 and with all deceit of unrighteousness in those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, so that they might be saved. it's nice to think that people will not face judgement and hell....but it's simply not true and you know it to be so. Warnings ...just warnings don't make a great deal of sense do they? Don't touch that fire it's hot!!!! - Sure that's a warning...but it does not change the end result of you ignoring the warning ...and sticking your hand in the fire does it? ....This is all common sense..and I personally think you are either playing a game or totally choosing to ignore all the scripture that talks about judgement, along with hell. God Bless Hip

  16. As a teacher, I would be thrilled if a student told me they were going to turn things around and change. Tell your teacher you are going to change... teachers can be very forgiving. We have to be.... it is not easy getting kids to do work when they do not want to. If you don't understand something ask for help but don't be a class clown and be disruptive because you don't want to deal with doing the work or admitting you need help. Good Luck I will be praying for you!

  18. What are you doing to give them the impression, and why are you constantly under probation? And before you answer, I am old, very old, and have heard just about every explanation that has ever been invented! So, no answer like I have done nothing. There must be a reason why they are putting you on probation constantly. Once we find out what that is, we can talk about how to correct it (with Jesus being the foundation). God Bless, and let's start talking.

  20. Ask God to guide your steps every morning and to help you do what is right. Then make sure the friends you choose are those who are godly not the kind who by association give you a bad name and if you do wrong or if accused, apologize , even if you know you are right. It will not hurt you to say sorry, and it can change the way you are treated....but say it humbly. Love Jesus..and ask Him to help you at home with family too. As a former teacher, nothing diffuses a situation like an apology that an easily come from the heart of one who has been forgiven of their own sins.remember...going to church is good but your actions and friends speak for you. Welcome to Worthy.

  21. Exactly. God is not subject to the whims, thoughts, understanding, demands, sympathies, tantrums, wishes or logic of people. If every single living thing in the universe got together, in one accord, and stood before the Lord and demanded their way on a particular issue, it wouldn't matter. It would have the same effect as a gnat banging its head against a boulder in order to move it. God is God and, in His infinite wisdom, made the rules to what He knows is right. People need to take a step back, take a deep breath, and reflect for a moment. Stop trying to make the scriptures conform to your understanding and begin conforming to what the scriptures say. You don't have to, and never will, understand all of the scriptures. But you are called to conform to them and put your faith and trust in God according to them. That's because it's rare to find those who are truly surrendered to, and in absolute love with, God. Those who are, ask this question all the time. The rest remained focused on themselves and their own ways.

  22. The punishment is eternal in that it last forever. the torment doesn't Hell is not forever, it is done away with in the lake of fire Revelation 20 The Great White Throne Judgment 11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God,[c] and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.[d] 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire. The point being that it is still eternal. "Hell" being the general word that people use to describe eternity without God. If a person wanted to really debate this, there is much more than has been discussed here. Death and Hades being cast into the lake of fire doesn't mean that they're destroyed or done away with. It simply means that they're in the lake of fire, too. There's nothing that says those in Hades don't remain in Hades when it's cast into the lake of fire. Nothing in the scriptures indicates that torment stops. You're ASSUMING that because death and hades are thrown into the lake of fire that they don't exist and that torment in them stops. Where does it say that? It doesn't. We MUST go by what the scripture says. It talks about eternal torment and punishment. Period. Scripture says that people will either spend an eternity WITH God or WITHOUT Him. Eternity means eternity. There is nothing in the scriptures that signifies that torment goes on for a limited time and then stops, or that the person then completely ceases to exist. Nothing. And what's more, there's NO benefit to the debate. If it's being discussed for academic curiosities, between the brethren, that's fine. But, in online forum settings, it ALWAYS turns into debating with people demanding they're right. It only causes hard feelings and stumbling blocks. For example: Notice the ONE thing you latched onto in my response? You completely ignored the rest of my post and didn't address it. You want to be right and you're interested in getting YOUR point across without dealing with anything else. THAT'S my point. Believe what you want. You're entitled.

  23. As I read through this thread, I find people are trying very hard to shape the scriptures around their own thoughts, their understanding, and what they want to be true. I see a lot of "What if..." and "I don't think..." type statements. Eternity is NOT a What If game and it's NOT dependent on what we believe about it. It is what God says it is in His Word. And He's very clear about it. Granted, people are free to believe whatever they want. People are allowed to be wrong. But you can't do that and call it Christianity because it's what YOU want to be true. The very nature of truth is that there can only be ONE truth. And, if that truth has any bearing on our eternities, which it does, then it behooves us to find out exactly what that truth is, regardless of whether we like it or not, stop arguing about it, and conform to it... and STOP trying to conform the truth to our way of thinking. Hell is eternal. The Bible is MORE than clear on this issue. That's why it uses words like "eternal" and "forever and ever" and "everlasting." How those words can be confusing is a mystery to me. But just SAY for the sake of argument that hell is not eternal. What benefit is that to anyone? Hell is still hell, separation from Jesus. It's not a party town. Satan doesn't rule and reign there. It's still torment beyond comprehension and no one in their right mind wants to experience it for ANY length of time. Our time is better spent KEEPING OUT of hell altogether, and snatching others off the wide road that's leading them there. To argue how long hell lasts is an inane waste of time that benefits nothing and nobody. If you believe hell is temporary, what do you say to unbelievers? "Don't worry about it. It won't last forever. When it's done you'll just vanish altogether from existence." That's ridiculous. EDITED TO ADD THE WORDS OF JESUS HIMSELF: Matthew 25:46, "And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” Eternal means eternal, not temporary. Basic English. The torment of the wicked in hell is as eternal as the joy of the righteous in heaven.

Job 38:31-33 Can you bind the cluster of the Pleiades, Or loose the belt of Orion? Can you bring out Mazzaroth in its season? Or can you guide the Great Bear with its cubs? Do you know the ordinances of the heavens? Can you set their dominion over the earth?
