  2. Thank you. Now I need to search how many times fire from heaven is described in the Bible to see who it came from.

  3. I agree, I think the tragedies visited on Job clearly came from Satan, and what we see in that verse is a human perspective of the events, absent the knowledge of what was transpiring in heaven.

  4. I guess I'm thinking of the "war in heaven" passages, (and to a lesser extent, the ones about Danial's prayers being hindered for weeks until the archangel Michael came to help). Can they somehow physically fight each other even though they are spirits? Can they be wounded and suffer pain? I know the fallen angels will indeed suffer torment in the Lake of Fire - so it makes me wonder. Just how do they battle each other?

  5. from The American Spectator: "Barack Obama has one final year to realize that the National Prayer Breakfast just isn’t a good venue for him. Obama’s track record at the annual function has been little other than disastrous, and another president—one with a more hostile media and a less dedicated constituency—would have been ruined already by previous catastrophes. "Obama’s problems with the National Prayer Breakfast began in earnest in 2012, when the keynote speech at the affair was given by author Eric Metaxas. The speech Metaxas gave in advance of Obama’s own address was a tour de force and an indictment, though a polite one, of Obama’s position on abortion and other social issues as decisively anti-Christian. Metaxas stole the show and left Obama giving a speech that had been thoroughly repudiated from the same podium just minutes earlier, about how Christianity included essentially the same moral framework as Hinduism or Islam...." http://spectator.org/articles/61729/obamas-historical-ignorance-and-disdain-faith "Christianity has been perhaps the single most aggressive force in civilizing human beings in our history. To so brazenly insult those sharing that identity by bringing us down to the level of the Islamic State is an outrage. Christians must of course turn the other cheek in response; there is nothing else to do. But can we be blamed for wondering about Obama’s loyalty to, or even knowledge of, the faith he claims to hold? If instead of defending the civilization Christ inspired he can only mount his high horse to lecture us that we’re no better than the jihadists, what are we to conclude?" We can conclude that whatever faith Obama lays claim to, he remains an Islamic sycophant.

  6. When God allowed Satan to destroy Job's life, in verse 16 it says that fire of God fell from the heavens and burned Job's sheep and servants. My question is since God send Satan to destroy Job's belongings, wasn't it fire that came from Satan and not from God, and the ones who saw this fire come down thought it was from God since it came from heaven? Also what kind of fire do you think it was, lightning... lazer beams? 12 The Lord said to Satan, “Very well, then, everything he has is in your power, but on the man himself do not lay a finger.” Then Satan went out from the presence of the Lord. 13 One day when Job’s sons and daughters were feasting and drinking wine at the oldest brother’s house, 14 a messenger came to Job and said, “The oxen were plowing and the donkeys were grazing nearby, 15 and the Sabeans attacked and made off with them. They put the servants to the sword, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!” 16 While he was still speaking, another messenger came and said, “The fire of God fell from the heavens and burned up the sheep and the servants, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!”

  7. Just as we cannot imagine what living in their realm is like, I am sure we will never fully understand how they battle in the spirit world until we, ourselves, cross over into the next life.

  10. I think this is a great question and it leads me to ask how do our prayers make a difference in spiritual warfare? For instance, if (hypothetically) we have guardian angels, should we pray for them to be stronger, or are they already as strong as they can be? Or when we pray to be delivered from temptation does that keep the fallen angels away from us?

  11. I think as Christians, it should be clear to us that there is no alien life to be found, as scripture only speaks of one Messiah, one creation of a planet with life, and one way to heaven having come from the creation written of. The world has a very different and skewed perspective of things. The media controls the information, regardless of where the media outlet is based from. To put this into perspective as far as the media is concerned, let's just examine a major event that is happening in the world right now. Yesterday, the american media reported on the events in Ukraine, by telling us that Obama has taken a hard line stance in considering arming Kiev. The slant was, that he is pushing this mentality on Europe. The news in Europe reported that Merkel is telling Obama to back off of this situation, so that cooler heads may prevail. Meanwhile Russian television was reporting that Obama and Merkel are in agreement, preparing their citizens for all out war. The bottom line is, someone wants to instigate a war, and probably will succeed, because people for some odd reason believe the media, accept what they say as truth, and run with it. It doesn't matter what country the news source originates from, they are all controlled by the same master, just look at who owns these media outlets. This is disinformation at its finest, and we should all take that into consideration.

  13. A strange story for sure. This whole push to aliens I think plays into how the media and antichrist will one day incite people in regards to the Second Coming. The news in general has gotten weird to me, I honestly can't follow any of it on tv anymore, thanks goodness papers are still in print.

  14. Yes, they are described with weapons in some instances. I'm not certain what those weapons are for though, is it for use against other spiritual beings, or against natural ones? Probably for both. I guess there really is not much difference how they would fight, whether they punch one in the nose or slash them with a sword, in the end they cannot kill their opponent. I would suspect they feel some measure of pain though. Of course this is all just my opinion, scripture really doesn't say much in this regards, but it is an interesting topic to consider.

  15. Nothing personal , but I still do not see where you are getting your information from . That is why I asked you to cite a source that proves that the BBC has exceeded at bashing Christians and Christianity, compared to other world wide net works . If it is just your opinion that's fine , it remains your opinion.

  16. Some angels are described in the Bible as having swords (like the angel guarding the entrance to Eden.) It's been boggling my mind lately as to how they actually battle.

  17. They are spirits, yet they have spiritual bodies. When you consider the account of Jesus with the disciples, particularly Thomas, who had to physically touch Him for his own acceptance, then we understand that even a spiritual body has physical characteristics. The major difference between a spiritual body and a natural body is that the spiritual body is eternal. So how the war occurs between them would be different than what we think of war. They cannot kill each other, so there would really be no need for weapons. I don't know if that means they simply wrestle, or something more, but it is important to note that spiritual beings are imperishable already.

  19. I agree that Obama is not a Christian. He knows little to nothing about Christianity. It is not a Christian concept to compare one sin against another and proclaim that a sin is not so bad because others also sinned the worse sin. There is nothing so un-Christian. Christianity views all sin as falling short of God, missing the mark. All sin, with no savior, has the same result. But, it is the unsaved human condition to try to self justify by comparing themselves to another to prove their own goodness in comparison. Even the worst criminals in jail have a line they will not cross, and use their unwillingness to cross that line to show their goodness. In prison, child molestation is the sin line most will not cross, so those guilty of mass murder and torture who will not molest a child, have claims of their goodness for not crossing the line. At the same time, the article is sugar coating the crusades. From the article: 'That the Crusades centered upon retaking the Holy Land could hardly be seen as unreasonable: what religion’s adherents wouldn’t want to control the place of its birth?' Really? The scriptures have given the land of Israel to the Jewish people. It was not given to Christians. There is no biblical justification for Christianity to kill the Jewish people to conquer and control the so called 'Holy land'. That statement is just a justification for disobeying scripture, and murdering the people to whom God gave the land. The article also says: 'Interestingly enough, Muslims to this day occupy every city vital to the formation of Christianity except for Jerusalem, and none of those other cities enjoy the standard of living, human rights, or basic freedoms available throughout the Western world.' Another 'misinformation'. It looks like Christianity is claiming the standard of living, human rights and basic freedoms available in Israel. In reality, Jewish people setup the constitution of Israel, and worked hard to raise a standard of living, maintain human rights and basic freedom. And it ultimately was God who brought the land of Israel under Jewish control. Sorry all, but the artical is lame. Some countries grouped together and defended themselves against the Muslims in the name of Jesus, but the actions against the Jewish people, who were living scattered in multiple countries, did not have an army, and were not aggressors, are unjustifiable. The effort to take the land of Israel, which was not Christian land, and was not any kind of defense is also unjustifiable. Especially when the crusaders treatment of the Jewish people was far worse. Islamic countries today, are the more backwords countries, with a lot of violations of human rights, and barbaric methods. That sin stands alone. That sin is being commited by non-Christians. There is no biblical justification to compare that sin to say another group as better or worse. It is when people start to compare sins when others will remind them that they are also sinners. The crusades were not Godly, but resulted in the sin of murder of innocents, torture of innocents, rape of innocents, theft, etc etc etc. The crusaders did not follow scripture and were not obedient to God.

  27. Most of you replied from the perspective of the us alone. The world has always been ugly all over. While sin may seem more prevalent in the us now, it was certainly just as ugly in the rest of the world now as it was then. Consider the genocides throughout history. Consider how people were slaughtered, tortured, worshiping false gods, encouraging lives of wickedness 2000 yrs ago as well.

  28. Blessings Peeps I do agree with One Light and he has given reference to the appropriate Scripture verse to confirm his accurate description,,,,,,,,however,I do believe we are much more aware of the things happening throughout the world as we have so much more media coverage in parts of the world we hardly knew existed before satellites, internet etc,,,,,,,and so it may seem much worse than say the 50's or the 60's.........for example, persecution of non-islamists in the middle east, this has been going on from the time the religion began ,only we were not aware of it ........... I am sure there were many crimes being committed all over the USA when I was a kid but we only had local news coverage back then,,,,,,,,,,,Oh,don't get me wrong,,,,,I think the world is much worse than ever before & Gods Word tells us that is what is going to happen but I am just saying that our awareness is much greater than ever before also,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, With love-in Christ,Kwik

  29. I am comparing our world in the 50's,60's compared to what we are seeing now. Were we seeing as much evil around us then as we do now?I think things were rather simple then.Is it because we have more people in our world? No, it is because less and less people believe in, or trust what others say about God. I was born in 53. During my younger years, sin abounded, people started turning away from the established church, kids became more rebellious, but the family was supported by the father and the mother stayed home to raise the kids, TV shows were always G rated, news were only the facts, and you could leave your doors unlocked. The world is becoming more sinful due to the return of Christ being near. Scripture gives examples of how the world will be, days of Noah, Sodom and Gomorrah, where the love of many will grow cold. We read in 2 Timothy 3:1-5 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!

  31. I will be willing to answer that if you start a thread on it in a non Outer Court part of the forum. I don't have enough interest to be the one to start the thread, since I would just be answering your questions. I see the YEC as akin to flat earthers. They come up with fantastic and unprovable theories while those of us who have used science in the real world see God's handiwork and majesty first hand. They practice the same anti-intellectuallism that the papists did against Galileo. What's the point in arguing with them when they just make stuff up? I don't see this commentary as helpful here. Everything you have said here is propaganda without much substance. What is the point of lobbing insults at one another?

  32. To me, reading the Bible and praying is a preliminary neutral feeling. Before I pray or read the Word I'm not like yayyy!! happy happy joy joy let's do this! The happy happy joy joy comes after I've read and prayed. There are days I don't feel like reading it, and there is no excuse in that but I don't get a guilt trip about it because in my heart I know that there's always tomorrow. Can't go very long without it though because my spirit begins to starve for His Holy Word.

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. Revelation 3:20-22 Is You Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Abide in me, and I in you.
