  1. I have to say that where we are, most of the people who hold up signs on corners are professional beggers who make more money than the average citizen. Many have been investigated around here and exposed. So it might be better to go get the person a big mac and a cup of coffee than to hand them money. You can hand food to them safely. Sometimes our church will pay a drug store directly for needed meds or pay utilities directly. They also provide work around the church or the pastors' homes so the people can work for the payments. There are people like yourself and Nigel who genuinely needed a helping hand and a friend. But you really need to pray about who you should help and how to go about it. Let God be your guide, not your emotions. I have friends who visit our local mission on a regular basis. He speaks or preaches and she plays her guitar and sings. They also visit with the people and listen to them. It is a real ministry. Blessings, Willa

  2. The other day I was sitting in the waiting room to have radiation therapy observing others around me. The staff walked around with large smiles and pleasant manners. All around me heads with wigs that didn't quite sit right were buried in newspapers, word pads and mobile phones. Someone got up to go and get a cup of tea. Others were accompanied by a friend or a family member trying not to look embarrassed or worried. Carol my nurse was browsing some dreadful woman's magazine. Small polite conversation, faces that conveyed the,” Wish I was not here”, were all around me. It’s strange how we all deal with different circumstances. We can say or even think that when the going gets tough we will stand up and be counted. Where do we really draw our strength from? Psa 28:7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him. Hang on moment! Ever tried singing in this waiting room? I mean it smells of death, this is the last place anyone would wish to come and sit in for a cup of tea or to pass away a few hours in the day. It's depressive , it's the anti camera,(anteroom) to something else. Only sick people come here, why would you wish to be here? Even the colour scheme is appalling,,, not to mention the curtains,,, as for the tea , it doesn't bear talking about. A young nurse comes and calls my name, I go and change into some ridiculous gown that lets the wind contact you in places that the wind has no place to be. Stepping out of the cubical, I hand over my possessions, keys, wallet and Iphone. The phone bleeps, it’s a text message from Fez in South Africa,,,,, I grab the phone back to read it. Text message quote, “I am in the middle of Makuze game reserve, off road and by myself. I pray that you feel the peace in your soul that this place conveys to me Nigel. Green, cool , the sound of birds everywhere and a wilderbesast snorting in the distance. No other sounds. You are not alone. GBU.” I place the phone back into the bin and climb onto the table,,,,, the complicated mechanism of the bed and laser lights are adjusted. The rooms lights go down and I'm left alone,,,, music is softly playing in the back ground; classical as per my daily request. My mind wanders, I can feel the peace. Isaiah 41:10 10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness God never leaves us, not for one moment, we just have to know where to look for HIM ,,,,,,,,,,,and really,,, Let me tell you,,, He is just a prayer away; HE supplies our every need even through the smallest text message from a friend. Oh,,.and yes,,,, you can sing in this place ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I did.

  3. Maybe there is a reason for all that I have gone through and am still going through. I have always felt bad for the homeless. More like felt sorry for them. But it was easy to just say "oh that is so sad" and then just pass them by going on with my life. But now because of all the things I have gone through, having times when I had no money to buy food, no money to pay bills. Losing my house and being forced to move in with someone or else be out on the street. I have a deep hurt for those who are homeless and in need. Such a hurt that I cry over not being able to help them. A few months ago I was pulling out of a walmart parking lot when I saw a women at the end of the street holding up a sign saying "I have no money please help." The only cash I had on me was $5.00. I pulled over and gave her the $5.00 and then apologized for not being able to give her more. She was very grateful for the little I could give. But it bothered me that I could not do more. I prayed for her that night and felt so much hurt in my heart for this poor lady. I say this not the brag on myself for what I did. Because I really did nothing at all. I say this to show how what I have gone through has humbled my heart and has made me a more compassionate person. I can no long just see a homeless person or someone in need and say "oh that is so sad" and go on as if nothing has happen. I now cry for these people and hurt inside for them. My heart brakes because I do not know what to do to help them and I am burden by their need. I do not know if humbling me and making me hurt for the needy is the reason for my suffering. But that is what has become of my suffering. It has made me want to even more find away to serve others.

  5. There is a wonderful thing that started almost spontaneously in my country. In short it is called RAK. Random acts of kindness. It has spread like wildfire. Essentially, one just does a RAK that can be anything. It does not have to be money, or food, it can be anything. I love it! I have been doing it for years because it is such fun! Last month I saw a woman struggling to find change to pay her parking fee in a mall parking. There was line of impatient people behind her. She was juggling her purse, shopping, phone, etc, and I could see she was embarrassed. I leaned over her and deposited the required amount in the machine and walked away. I could hear her asking people, "did you see that?" It can be anything. help someone carry their shopping (ask first!), or any small thing. So don't feel bad that you only had $5 to give her. It was all you had and $5 more than she had before she met you!

  6. There's been a long history in the US and Canada about these kind of disputes to the point where it becomes a human rights issue. These issues are starting to get a bit more coverage in some media, and they are gaining traction among activist groups as well. 2015 is going to be a big year for protesting one thing or another.

  7. I understand the premise, but will you still pledge your allegiance once they have taken your religious rights from you? Basically they already have, you can now be charged with a hate crime for disagreeing with certain agendas.

  8. It is certainly easier to feel compassion for others when you have experienced what they are going through. Why do things happen as they do? It is difficult to say, but we often make choices that have a ripple effect on everything in our lives that follow. Keep Jesus at the center of your life, and your choices, He will guide your steps. God bless you.

  10. Yes For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee: Luke 4:10 And Amen~! Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, Colossians 2:18

  11. At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship and said:“Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.” In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing. Job 1:20-22 (NIV)

  15. If he really wanted to make Christianity look bad, all he had to do was point to latin america in recent times, where mexico is engaged in genocide of certain indian groups, to argentina where 30,000 people disappeared in the 7 yrs of one dictatorship etc. However it is clear that in his speech he is kowtowing to his muslim buddies.

  16. No Christian would praise any other religion. All other religions lead people to hell. To defend other religions is to encourage people into hell. By his "fruit" alone, it is easy to judge that Obama is no Christian. Also, no Christian would encourage abortion and homosexuality as he does

  17. Yes, I've heard this argument before, in many forms. Some people claim that the Seals, Trumpets, and Bowls all take place concurrently. Let's give it a test. If any part fails, the whole system's logic fails. Rev. 8:8 Then the second angel sounded... 9 and a third of the living creatures in the sea died... Rev. 16:2 Then the second angel poured out his bowl on the sea...and every living creature in the sea died. Rev. 8:12 Then the fourth angel sounded: And a third of the sun was struck... A third of the day did not shine... Rev. 16:8 Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and power was given to him to scorch men with fire. And men were scorched with great heat... There simply is not agreement here. These two pairs of events take place at different times, because they are different events: "both are" not "happening at the same event." I agree that they are different events, however, they are brought about by the same plague angel. When I made the correlation between each numbered trumpet and bowl I wasn't saying that they were the same thing, just that they were related. The trumpet will announce or begin the judgment where as the bowl will bring it to it's fullness. I expounded on that thought, comparing the trumpets and bowls in if interested.

  18. Revelation 15. Verses 6-7 in particular: and the seven angels came out of the temple, having the seven plagues, clothed in pure and white linen, and having their breasts girded with golden girdles. And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God, who liveth for ever and ever. I know I'm wrong...like you've told me many times before...but that's where it says it. Context, context, context. Rev. 8:2 And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and to them were given seven trumpets. Rev. 15:1 Then I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous: seven angels having the seven last plagues, for in them the wrath of God is completed. (Verse 6, "and the seven angels came out of the naos in heaven..." -- the "the seven" here refers to the antecedent passage of verse 1. You can't presume anything more from the text, such as "the only seven angels tasked by God.") Thus, there is no textual reason to say that these two sets of angels are the same, because there are lots of angels in heaven. Not to mention that angels are never spoken of as having more than two arms, and pouring out bowls while blowing trumpets doesn't seem possible. (Bowls tucked under a wing, while trumpets blown?) You glossed right over the fact that the bowls were given to the seven angels that already had the seven plagues. I even highlighted it for you. Are you suggesting that there are seven more plagues that we know absolutely nothing about? If not, then it seems reasonable to me that they are the trumpets. A comparison between the same numbered trumpets and bowls shows an undeniable correlation. I never said the bowls were poured out while the trumpet was being blown, and I'm not interested in being the object of your ridicule. Done here.

  19. I, like you, was unequally yoked (or however you spell it LOL) myself. I married a Catholic, and I am a Christian. She promised me from the day we met that she would convert for me, and go to my Church. I go to a non-denominational Church that preaches the Bible boldly! After we married, she changed her mind, and chose to please her family rather than God. Now, after almost 10 years of marriage, she wants a divorce. We have a 7 year old son. I can FOR SURE relate to you! If your goal with this woman is to be a beacon of light to her, and lead her to Christ, and be there for her as a friend to help show her the way, By all means keep in contact! However, if you feel she is pulling you down, and turning you away from God, please steer clear of her. Ask yourself this. What would Jesus do? Read your Bible, and you would be amazed at some of the people Jesus "broke bread" with. So, my friend, if your desire is to be a light in her dark world, then be her friend. I am not online much, but if you ever need a friend, drop me a message, okay?

  20. I believed i understood your post very well, first and formost,in this world nobody is perfect, as the bible said all have sin and come short of the glory of God, You have taking a very good decision, by desiring to be a better christian, the scirpture says, Therefore,if any man be in Christ,he his a new creature, old things are passed away, behold all things are become new, 2 corinthians 5:17" The bible said we should not be unequally yoke with unbeliever... 2corinthians 6:14" The easiers way to over come mistake,is to confess it and forsake it, The bible said we should not be ignorant of the devices of devil, You said she is dating someone els, and you are desiring to be a better christian, my brother, allow the sleeping dog to sleep, tell her your new found life, and how you are determine to live a godly life, The bible said that two can't walk together, execpt they are agree, she is an unbeliver and you are a beliver, If iam in your position,i will let her go,unless she is willing to join me, Cut off the link,so that devil will not use her,to entice you, Remember this is just my opinion, The best advice is the one you give yourself.
