  1. Unfortunately he will probably get it http://www.christianpost.com/news/televangelist-creflo-dollar-needs-200000-people-to-donate-300-each-so-he-can-buy-65m-ministry-plane-135582/

  2. Yeah, but then he'd have to deal with all the filthy rabble . . . er, other people on a commercial flight. $65 million is a lot of money for a plane. Maintenance & operating costs will not be cheap for that aircraft either, so he's going to need a lot of money to keep that going. Wonder how many missionaries, bibles, training for pastors, etc. that would buy instead of a plane? Very good point

  6. I wouldn't say you need a Spiritual adviser, but God has placed teachers and Pastors in our Lives to help build up our faith and stir up our pure minds. He has placed these individuals in his Body to build us up. We can and do learn on our own, but we are a part of a bigger organism that thrives off of first, Christ as our Head, and then the individual members. Rom 1:11 I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong-- Eph 4:11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, Eph 4:12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 2Pe 3:1 Dear friends, this is now my second letter to you. I have written both of them as reminders to stimulate you to wholesome thinking.

I would throw it in the garbage and not give it away...you don't want anybody else to read it ! May I ask who wrote the book?

  9. Interesting opening paragraph. Once the body started becoming like the world, the world stopped trying to become like Christ.

  10. Oh how wonderful it would be if answers were always black and white with questions needing only yes or no answers but that is not the case Otherwise there would simply be a law written that would make a person righteous by following it. God decides who does and who does not need a spiritual advisor to hear his voice. Not everybody has. it isn't that God isn't speaking to people. God is. Most people I have met have needed instruction on how to decipher which voice is his.

  13. The only "spiritual adviser" you need to listen to is to be found in the bible, like here... 1Ki 19:11 And he said, "Go out and stand on the mount before the LORD." And behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind tore the mountains and broke in pieces the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind. And after the wind an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. 1Ki 19:12 And after the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire the sound of a low whisper. 1Ki 19:13 And when Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his cloak and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. And behold, there came a voice to him and said, "What are you doing here, Elijah?" Listen for the whisper, read your bible with your heart and your ears.....

  14. Just a few observations: 1. You do not need a spiritual advisor "to hear God's voice" if you are genuinely a child of God and have the indwelling Holy Spirit to lead and guide you (1 Jn 2:20,27). 2. If you are in a true Bible church, you should have elders in your church. They are there to "watch for your soul" (Heb 13:17) so they are the ones who should be approached when you need spiritual guidance. 3. You will not find any Scripture telling you "to seek vision" when you pray. God has already given the Church a vision, which is to preach the Gospel to the whole world (Mt 28:18-20; Mk 16:15,16). 4. God's "voice" is in His Word, which is a living Word and a powerful Word (Heb 4:12,13). He will also speak to you in your soul (Rev 3:20) as you commune with Him. To "sup" with Christ is to have communion with Him. More important than just "hearing His voice" is to obey His commandments (1 Jn 2:3-17).

  16. When God speaks we sometimes must learn to recognize His voice as Samuel did when he was a boy. 1 Samuel 3:1-21 The first time He spoke to me I was in a prayer circle in a small womans group from my church. So I told them about the strange thought that had popped into my head that I knew wasn't my own. The older ladies confirmed that it was probably God speaking to me. The suggestion was that if I changed churches, my husband might start going with me. He wasn't saved and I had given up on him. The next time God gave me a strong desire to give money to a church that reached out to kids on drugs that I had read about in the newspaper. I was not in the habit of giving to anything at the time, and we were poor. It is very rare that God speaks in an audible voice. It is usually the still small voice within us, and when we follow with obedience, He usually speaks to us more. Then I learned that when God spoke there were usually 2 or 3 witnesses. Matthew 3:11-17, When Jesus was baptized, a voice came from heaven, John the Baptist had testified of Jesus, and the Holy Spirit came upon Him. The Scriptures also testify of Jesus. John 5:39. So I came to realize that His Voice should always agree with Scripture, at least in principle. God does not contradict Himself. [E.g. Giving to others is not wrong and my husband going to church is not wrong, in my case.] Often the same idea will be expressed in a sermon, or you might hear a hymn with the same message. But they will come to your attention in the days following till you come to be more familiar with His Voice and the ways He communicates with us. Usually He wants us to hear Him more than we do. I do not encourage you to seek any experiences with God. The enemy would love to get you off track by seeking them instead of seeking to walk with God in obedience to His voice. But Psalms 100 gives very good advice as to how to come into His Presence. Come before His presence with SINGING. Know that He is God, our creator. Enter into His gates with THANKSGIVING. [Count your blessings and thank Him for all He has done for you.] And into His courts with PRAISE. [Marvel at all He as done, His creation, the beauty of the earth and the stars, and His covenants. God inhabits the praises of His people.] BLESS HIS NAME, for the Lord is good, merciful, and truth. {This last part is worship, to extoll God for Who He Is--His attributes.} These types of fellowship with God are what He desires of us--to walk in obedience to His voice and to live in communion with Him.

  18. Advisors can help but we have the Spirit and sometimes He lets us know what we should do, if that is the case then we should not ask, sometimes even with advisors Him not allowing us to do what we wanted shows that it is not to be, this is often what I base it off, whether I feel Spirit or have an oppuritunity.

  23. That seems a bit like new age nonsense. You can hear His voice without others. You can have spiritual mentors but not for the reasons you stated. The bible tells us in ephesians how to be on guard against the enemy. As for seeking visions in prayer or writing down spontaneous thoughts ... that is dangerously close to "channeling" in new age circles. Very bad stuff. Spontaneous thoughts can easily have origins that are not of God, including our own wicked hearts. When you pray your focus should be on talking to Him, not on getting visions. Visions and words from the Lord happen without specifically seeking them as this book advocates. To hear His voice, lets put it this way. He speaks, but we have a hard time hearing Him because we do not pay attention. All that noise of life shouts Him down. Seek God. Spend time getting closer to the Lord. Spend quiet time with Him. In prayer, seek to really communicate with Him. When my focus is on Him and Him alone in prayer, that seems to be when I hear Him.
