  1. Forgiveness is always tough. It's something you have to hand over to God and let Him do His Work through you. Be Still and know that He is God. When the forgiveness is there in your life, it will change you. I would then confront this person letting them know what was said but that you had forgiven them. Then they will either admit to what they did or deny it. Either way your free and can go on with your life and let God deal with them. Remember to pray for them who despitefully use you. Jesus said that. Because He Lives!! RustyAngeL

  4. I have just found out that someone I thought of as a good friend has talked about me behind my back on more than one occasion, and not in a good way. Feel hurt and angered, I have done nothing to deserve this. Trying to let it go but finding that very hard. How do I handle this?

  7. Thank you, starman. I appreciate your input. I wanted to post this here in a Christian forum, because whenever there was an interpretation, prophecy, or any other revelation, it was revealed to the church. (Acts 11:28-30;21:8-14) I want to share this with the family of believers, because it was for our encouragement. Jesus said in Matthew 7:6 "Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you." I'd rather teach Jesus is Lord first to an atheist or muslim, so they can receive the faith. What was revealed to me wasn't something I sought out specifically, I only sought the Lord. What I posted was the result of spending time with God. As believers, we are supposed to understand the times we are living in. Hypocrites are those who don't. (Matthew 16:3) You're right about this edifying me, because after this post, I went out and spoke to God about this. I suffer from OCD, so I was VERY indecisive about posting this. I was afraid of the responses I indeed received. Like I said, I had prayed about it and then found myself reading the guidelines before registering to this website. However, I know it wasn't a personal attack, all of you are aware and are following the guidelines. I thought what I posted did follow it, considering prophecy is a form of teaching, because you learn something from it. I was not teaching anything different from what Our Lord has already taught us through the Scriptures. I would never want to send any other message than Jesus is Lord! That is the important thing! He IS Coming soon! God bless you all!

Teaching is not permitted here except by the mods and admins on this site. Non-denominational Christian. If what I posted offends you, I apologize. This wasn't to hurt anyone in any way. I don't think this forum community is for me. It wasn't welcoming, even after I posted in the welcome post. Jesus says if no one welcomes you, shake off the dust as a testimony against the town. I shake off the web-dust. I just wanted to be wise and post this, because what is wiser. To listen to man or God? God bless you all! And stay encouraged, Our Lord is coming soon! I did not mean you're not welcome here. You are most welcome. I just wasn't sure whether you read the TOS so I asked if you were teaching? Thank you! I did read the notice before registering. I thought what I posted followed the guidelines, because I had verses to back up what I was trying to show. I wasn't trying to teach what you all ready know, Our Lord is coming. Jesus Himself says so, and it isn't bad to watch for His Coming. He even called those who were able to discern the weather, yet not the times hypocrites. I am trying to show this every believer, and not really the unbelievers. Because it is only discerned by The Holy Spirit. I don't want to come off being sensitive, but I think it is wiser to not post something if it makes a brother or sister to think I am teaching something contrary to the faith. I would never want to post something that might make a brother or sister stumble. The message I want to always send is that Christ is Lord! If I find myself teaching, I want it to be for edification from the Scriptures, and nothing else! God bless you all!

  11. Seems to me Other one that Jesus was going to read the Scriptures... Is that not the case with Paul too? Luke 4:16 (See Luke 4 for context) 16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up. And as was his custom, he went to the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and he stood up to read. 17 And the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was given to him... God bless, GE but in doing so they expressed the gospel of who Jesus was........ that's why they killed them all in the end. When Jesus read, he also told them that they had experienced that writing that day.... and Paul always preached the Gospel in the end. Just to start historically. In the OT, there is no command to attend a synagogue. There is no command to build a synagogue. Synagogues came about during the Babylonian captivity. They were basically places built primarily outside of Israel to teach the Jewish people while they were scattered outside of Israel. In the OT, the only place commanded to be built for worship was the Temple. Even while living in the land of Israel, most of the Jewish people lived to far away from the Temple to travel for weekly worship. There are holidays in which the children of Israel were to travel to the Temple, but they did not travel to the Temple on the weekly Sabbath. Synagogues were not commanded so no weekly gathering for worship was required. The synagogue system is 'man made'. When Jesus went into a synagogue and read from Isaiah, He did so to reveal who He was. But, again history. Judaism has a set cycle of reading from the Torah and Haftorah. The cycle of reading covers a year. When Jesus went into the synagogue and read the portion from Isaiah, that was the portion to be read for that week. He did not go to another synagogue the next week and read the same verses. Another point. There was usually a head Rabbi/Pharisee who formed and ran the synagogue. There were also Rabbis who traveled with their disciples. When a travelling Rabbi came thru, the Rabbi of the synagogue would invite the traveling Rabbi to do the reading and give a teaching on it. Jesus was viewed as a traveling Rabbi with His disciples, and was asked to read and teach. Jesus lesson on that passage shocked them all. Paul was also a Rabbi, and traveled with a group, so as a traveling Rabbi, might also have been invited to speak as was the custom. Needless to say, this is a unique situation which does not exist today.

  12. (Note: Texts in bold are what you said in this post.) I don't believe there's evidence of what happened after the widow gave her last two coins. So we don’t know if God moved on her behalf quickly. We know her actions and motivation pleased God. We also know that part of the instructions on tithing given to Israel was to give towards the widow, orphan, and foreigner. So this once again in my opinion, this just showed how the Jewish religious leaders (Scribes & Pharisees) and wealthy were not following the Old Covenant law. see Deut. 14:28-29 Can you see that perspective? God bless, GE

  14. Nah, if they didn't find the supposed fusion site, they would have simply assumed that the fusion happened long ago and have since mutated out of the genome. Missing evidence has never been a problem for neo-darwinism. Also, prediction in science works on the basis of running experiments by isolating, as best one can, a certain mechanism and then reproducing an outcome time and time again until one can say with a small enough error margin and a high enough probability that P therefore Q. This is how the basic inductive reasoning of science works and when people speak of prediction, this is generally what they mean. The Ken Miller example, is a single prediction about the unrepeatable past, and as such really just amounts to a fallacy of affirming the consequent, which is to say If P then Q, Q therefore P. In short if you take inductive reasoning and you substract controlled repetition in a lab, all you're left with is a fallacy of affirming the consequent.

  15. question is, if the church is the bride of Christ, and we are told not to forsake the fellowship, would God really stop you? Why would God stop you from doing what He told you to do in the first place? food for thought.

  16. Ah, the question of identity.. Just let God tell you who you are. We are made in His image and are much more complex than any test is ever going to be able to figure out, and as such, we will only find satisfaction in what He says about us. Also, if you are on the path of being made into the image of Christ, then what does this stuff mean anyways? You tell me! What myers-briggs type is Jesus? Find that out so I can be just like Him

  17. A. This would also depend on how much faith a person has towards God and tithing. When we give out of Love and Trust in God and His word and know that we know He will bless us back then we tithe even if it looks like we wont eat for God can do more through your tithe then we could through spending the money on food. B. When we give because we feel forced to or to make a show of it or because we feel we have to do this or God will get us then our tithes will not produce the fruits in return that we had wanted. C. The story of the widow woman and her few mites is an example of the first in which had total trust and faith in God and you know God moved on her behalf quickly. D. Speaking of which how about the woman and her son who BELIEVED their man of God Elijah and prepared the last of thier food for the prophet or man of God....What happened ? She never knew lack again.... E. Tithing and giving can be placed right up there with some reaped 30 fold and some reaped 60 fold and some reaped 100 fold. How much Faith and trust do you have in God and His written word........think of it like this.....those who reaped 30 fold had about 30 fold faith and 70 fold doubt and unbelief......People tend to believe that their own faith is strong but continue to speak words of doubt and unbelief and fear and so forth. This works against your faith. F. It is said through out His written word out of the abundance of the heart the mouth does speak and issues of life flow through our mouths. I said this because His word also teaches us we need to keep seed and the tithe watered or moistend and in good ground. Most people tend to think the ground is only about where you planted the tithe or seed but your heart and words matter much. G. In short.........ones tithe can bring blessings or nothing or very little depending on the heart and faith of the one who Gives it. God said He would rebuke the devourer for our sake but if the tithe is not given correctly or out of a true heart then yea buy your food instead but for me and my house................We can simply NOT afford to NOT tithe. Every single penny that comes into our home gets tithed on. Blessings jim A. No idea of the Scripture reference here. B. Again, no idea of the Scripture reference here. C. Looks like the reference here "widow woman and her few mites is an example of the first in which had total trust and faith in God and you know God moved on her behalf quickly. " is to Mark 12:41-44 & Luke 21:1-4. Is this correct? D. Looks like the reference here "the woman and her son who BELIEVED their man of God Elijah and prepared the last of thier food for the prophet or man of God....What happened ? She never knew lack again.... " is to 1 Kings 17:8-24. Is this correct? E. Looks like the reference here "some reaped 30 fold and some reaped 60 fold and some reaped 100 fold." is to Matthew 13:1-9 and Luke 8:4-15 Is this correct? F. Looks like the reference here "out of the abundance of the heart the mouth does speak" is to Matthew 12:34 & Luke 6:45. Also perhaps again a reference to Matthew 13:1-9 and Luke 8:4-15. Is this correct? G. Looks like the reference here "rebuke the devourer for our sake" is to Malachi 3:11 and "but for me and my house" is Joshua 24:15. Is this correct? Not sure where "if the tithe is not given correctly" comes from. Perhaps the reference is to giving cheerfully like in 2 Cor. 9:6-8? God bless, GE Spend time with God seeking His desire for the tithe. The tithe is Holy to Him and is not just about throwing money in the bucket. God showed us to even take comunion over our tithes before we give them. When a parable or story is given in the bible it is there for a reason. The widow giving out of her want or need was shown for a reason vs the rich man giving some from his plenty. Who trusted God more ? As far as A and B , well spend time seeking God and you will learn what kind of Heart it is He desires and what Kind of heart will see results that not only take care of you and your house but others as well. This is all so simple and yet many here are trying to claim I am speaking some forbidden talk that will shoot me down or something. Also why do you look for scripture reference for things I said speaking about my house and family ? For me and my house ? Well that is just what is says....Me and my family or house hold...... ; ) I do not understand why some feel they need to tear things down if they do not line up with their personal beliefs. There are three in here that keep doing this and it is foolishness. Faith is not important....wow ? Sorry GE for that last line but give me a break. Faith is vital. Thank YOU G.E for taking the time and replying with questions and NOT false accusations and put downs... Have a very blessed night Jim

  28. See above. TE'ers still manage to somehow cram in belief in the Creator as you have described here. I get the impression you think this is an academically / scientifically / scripturally logically-inconsistent thing to do. I agree, it is! But this is what they really do believe and to them there is no contradiction between a personal Creator, and TE. I believe this stems largely from the "two books" hypothesis, that God has (Ro 1) given us creation to reflect His glory, and if He truly is the Creator, than we should see agreement between biblical creation accounts, and scientific findings. Shiloh, I hate to belabor the point here, but can you please define what you mean by someone who is not an authentic believer? Are you suggesting they are unsaved? I am still unclear on the difference between unsaved and inauthentic. TE'ers do not reject Christ as creator. They believe He created through TE. There is a huge difference. One is disbelief, the other is misinterpretation. TE'ers trust the Word of God but incorrectly attribute allegorical meaning to something that is physical literal. It is my strong belief that the understanding TE'ers gather from their allegorical reading, still asserts Christ as creator, law giver and redeemer. Thus, their erroneous belief does not knock over the house of cards in terms of doctrine, as it would if they flat out did not believe in Christ as creator, law giver and redeemer. It is for this reason that I reject the notion that they have strayed from fundamental Christian theology to such a degree that it could be construed as reflective of inauthentic faith. This really understates the issue. It does not merely warp the view people of God. It is an enabler for atheism. It erodes belief that God even exists, and thus by extension challenges the integrity of Scripture. It is far, far more dangerous than how you are presenting it. Again, if we were to differentiate between Evolution and TE, I agree that Evolution is an enabler for atheism and is as such far more corrosive than a mere relational issue. But until we can agree to separate out TE beliefs from the origins of evolution, it will be difficult to see how people can hold true to faith and TE at the same time. TE does challenge the integrity of Scripture, in that by making an allegory out of something that is lacking textural evidence of an allegorical nature, the reader becomes free to determine the meaning of the allegory (or so they think). Additionally, it creates contradictions in latter passages that would no be an issue if a plain reading (physical literal reading) were adopted. This has a huge impact on the Christian's worldview and it is something I am very concerned about. When we change he nature of the bible in such a way that we somehow allow ourselves to determine the meaning, it has become meaningless. After all, if it just says what we want it to say, how is it different from man's opinion? It's not. So I agree with you here, when I hear of the hermeneutics that result in the reconciliation of evolution and the creation accounts, I feel a deep concern for what else they might take liberty in interpreting. I believe Ravenhill sums this up nicely "The Bible is either absolute, or it's obsolete." -Leonard Ravenhill. It is not about their motives in most cases. The issue being discussed here is the results of rejecting the biblical creation account. I raised motives as an issue only because it helps to discern between what seems to be two "camps" in this issue: the new believer grappling with issues of science, and the dogmatic evolution promoter. It seems to me that the potential consequences are different for those in each camp. There may be even more camps than this, I do not know. But part of my goal here was to reassure those Christians in the first "camp", that they can be secure in their faith while a work in progress, and the consequences attributed to those in the second "camp" need not be applied to them.
