  1. My mom died when I was 10. My dad remarried and my sister was 5 and Considers our stepmom the only mother she's ever had. Her values and morals are different than mine because I took a more spiritual path with my grandmother as my role model. I met my husband when I was 17, married him when I was 28 and now I am almost 40. My sister is 35 and is very attractive and outgoing. Physically we get told we're very alike. However, in the spiritual realm we're very different: She's single, mundane, promiscuous, histrionic and very flirtatious - she lives the Miami life. I've been kind of like her mother in many ways, always giving her advice on how to be a good person, tried to turn her to God,but she won't listen and its like I'm throwing pearls to a pig. We no longer have much in common. She has always envied me and when she visits me in South Carolina she shows off, dresses inappropriately around the house, and flirts with my husband - its like a fun competition to her to get all the attention. My husband says he only sees her as a little sister but he responds to her flirtatious ways saying he is just being courteous to "family". She is also overly affectionate with my 4 year old son trying to out-do me in everything - she has always wanted kids but feels and acts 19. I feel VERY uncomfortable when she is around, to the point it sickens me when she is around my husband at family reunions (which don't happen that often, thank God). My husband is not very open about religion or a spiritual leader in our home and he's also mundane, something I am praying about very much. It worries me that my sister has said she is applying for a job here in South Carolina and will have to move here in about 3 months if she gets it. I don't want her around my family. We live in love peace and harmony and it will be extremely disturbing to have her be close to me as I feel it will be a temptation to my husband, so my anxiety is through the roof. I am trying to let go and let God but I need advice on how to keep it together. Please help me figure out what to do - I am a woman of faith and want to do Gods will here. I have not told my husband about this yet because he'll just say I'm blowing things out of proportion and think I am crazy.

  4. I am truly sorry Davida. You have every right to step in. Mistakes happen. Correcting them helps us to learn. Miscommunication happens quite frequently on-line. It's easier to get away with "cryptic" communication in person because it includes body language, voice tone, etc. On-line, it's a gamble sometimes.

  5. I was 18 when I was married and it is very young. I had no experience in managing a household, budgeting and so on. It would have been so much easier had I been on my own for a year or two. Our son was 26 and his wife was 21 when they were married. It had been a very good, sound marriage for over 20 years. My advice would be that you wait a couple of years and see if you still feel the same way, and then approach her. My dad was 13 years older than my mom, and I have two friends of whom the wives are 3 years older than their husbands!. Age isn't much of a consideration but maturity makes a lot of difference. Even though girls are often more mature than guys at 18, it is the lack of practical experience needed that must be considered.

  6. In some areas like mine "saving up" may not be an option when housing prices are so high and wages are low. Another example is San Francisco - several professional types I know are living in their vehicles because even a studio apartment is not affordable. Simply moving to "where its cheaper" is not always an option either due to length of commute or other factors. "Where its cheaper" might be 100 miles away and not a realistic option. I spent too many years stuck on mass transit where I could not get to the better paying jobs. That's not a good scenario either. Roommates are not always a good option even if you're single. It great is someone can get out of school and somehow score a great job and make a mint, but it doesn't work out that way for most of us. It would be nice if it did.

  7. Unfortunately that is quite common. But in front of the man's wife is not so common. Some women find it a challenge to see if they can entice a married man. It is a game and a challenge to them.

  8. So it does sound as if you are denying EVERY prophecy in the Old Testament speaking of Jesus second coming.

  9. That was referring to His death. There are people who have been able to use this verse, along with others, to calculate the exact date Jesus was crucified. It is pretty remarkable!

  10. He was also rejected by Gentiles. So, why is this different? And was it all Jews that rejected Messiah?

  11. I still can't find the source for the quote you posted originally - even searching the MJAA site. In any event, as I read the quote, I do not see a call to separate. ("Messianic Jews seek to embrace theirs, by meeting in congregational communities with other Jewish believers and by maintaining a Biblically Jewish expression of their faith.") That is not a "call" or an order or a request or a recommendation. That is an expression of "this is what happened." How is this different from a group of Koreans in America seeking to "meet in congregational communities with other Korean believers" and worshiping God in their native/heritage language?

  12. Again, just because deniers use "antisemitic" in their arguments against people calling out Soros et al does not mean that every antisemitism tag is wrong. Just because "there is a cabal of extremely wealthy Jewish bankers who control the economies of the world," this does not mean that all Jews and all things Jewish are evil.

  14. I agree with what a few have already said: a man should stand up and put a stop to it himself. I would express (to both) how it made me feel... for a woman to flirt with her sister's husband, she has some serious issues. Unfortunately, you can not expect a non-believer to be as God says a husband should be - loving his wife as Christ loves the church, since he does not have the love of Christ in him. It is not "courteous" to you, his wife, to respond to her flirtations and give her attention... sounds like they are both feeding their egos off of each other.

  15. Pray for God's will to be done in this and seek His kingdom first. Five years is not typically a big age difference, but these days 18 is pretty young to be committed to true love. It strikes me as odd to have to hide true love... if it is true, then it is honest and if it is love, it is expressed. Pray for God's guidance and discernment and put God first above yourself or her.

  16. Messiah was rejected by the Jews themselves. So Christ is NOT coming back as the Jewish Messiah. Daniel says "Messiah was cut off". It is the Anti-Christ who will present himself as the Jewish Messiah, but Christ Himself is coming as the Lord Jesus Christ (2 Thess 1:7-10). And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, 8In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 9Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; 10When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.

  17. No, it is not "complete nonsense" since there is sufficient documentary evidence to prove that those are historical facts. The Protocols have been attacked mercilessly, but what they say was fulfilled in the Bolshevik Revolution and is still being fulfilled by the globalists. There is no question that there is a cabal of extremely wealthy Jewish bankers who control the economies of the world. Why would it be bogus, when the Messianic Jews themselves claim that it was the Anti-Semitism of Gentile Christians that caused them to separate? In any event, there is no New Testament authority for their beliefs.

  18. Rev. 5:5 But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.” Luke 1:32 “He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David." Sounds pretty Jewish to me. Yes, he is KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS, but that in no way negates the fact that he is also still the Jewish Messiah, of the house and royal lineage of David, a Jewish king. It just means that the Jewish House of David is the very Kingdom God has chosen rule over all the other kingdoms of the nations. Race matters.

  19. Just because people who choose to deny Soros or world-manipulators and controllers use "antisemitism" to defend their denial, this does not mean that speaking against anything Jew-related is not antisemitic. Your argument is the erroneous "guilty by association" fallacy. If you actually listened to Jews and Jews who have come to faith in Jesus, you would understand how incredibly wrong your thinking and understanding is in this. I know both. Your words show absolutely no love for Jews.

  20. Yes "Messiah" came as Suffering Servant first, but Messiah will also come again as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Revelation is fulfilling Old Testament prophecies. DO YOU DENY THIS?
    1 point
  21. I am not associating the two but both are related to Anti-Semitism. Since this thread is about Anti-Semitism, Christians should be aware that exposing the cabal of wealthy and atheistic Jews controlling world affairs is often termed as Anti-Semitism in order to suppress the truth. And the Messianic Movement finds its raison d'etre in Anti-Semitism also. You can check this out for yourself on the web site quoted above. The reasoning is that because in the past Gentiles have practiced Anti-Semitism, Jewish believers must now have Jewish congregations.

  22. Yes, Really. Please take some time to research this for yourself. "Messiah" came as the Suffering Servant at His first coming (see Isaiah 50,53, Psalm 22, etc.). The Lord Jesus Christ comes "with power and great glory" to establish His eternal Kingdom on earth at His second coming. So those prophecies will be fulfilled by the one who comes as KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS (Revelation 19). 11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. 14And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. 15And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

  23. We isolate ourselves into Roman Catholic congregations, Lutheran congregations, Methodist congregations, Baptist congregations, Episcopalian congregations, Pentecostal congregations, etc., etc. We also isolate ourselves into Korean churches, Hispanic churches, and other people-group churches. How are these any different?

  24. Anyone who associates the Messianic movement with the Illuminati and/or George Soros and/or the Bolshevic Revolution is thinking erroneously. Just because some rich and powerful atheist - who could care less about the Torah anyways - happens to be Jewish, it doesn't mean he represents the entire Jewish people.

  25. False. We acknowledge Jesus as Lord. We are no more separate than any other church. We do not have torah observance. Whatever statement you read about does not apply to every single Messianic congregation.

  26. There are many verses I could pull, but I think one will suffice to answer the question: Acts 14:1 - At Iconium Paul and Barnabas went as usual into the Jewish synagogue. There they spoke so effectively that a great number of Jews and Greeks believed. What we see here is that both Jews and Gentiles [referred to as "Greeks"] were in the Jewish synagogue together. Throughout the book of Acts you will see the expression "God-fearing Gentiles." These were Gentiles who believed in the God of Israel, or at least respected the God of Israel, but without actually converting to Judaism. It is clear via this verse that Gentiles were allowed into the Synagogue to listen to the rabbinical teachings. So in the cities where both Jews and Gentiles were baptized into the name of Jesus, why would the two separate themselves? The answer is that they did not. However, there was cultural tension between them, as the Jewish believers had a hard time believing that Gentiles could follow their Messiah and God without converting to Judaism (becoming circumcised). Thus the Council in Jerusalem gave Paul and the others instructions to pass on to the congregations in the nations that they did not. Yikes! Are you blaming Replacement Theology on the Jews? Replacement Theology was the problem that kept driving Jews away from Christianity - primarily because Gentile Christians kept trashing and persecuting the Jews on account of this belief.

  29. When Peter spoke to a crowd of Jews during the Feast of Weeks (Pentecost), he said thus: 36 “Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.” 37 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” 38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ [Yeshua HaMaschiach] for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2) Thus, the Apostle Peter told the Jews to repent and be baptized in the name of "Jesus Christ" not "the Lord Jesus Christ." Along those lines, do a search a "Christ" in any Bible search (for instance here: http://www.biblestudytools.com/search/?s=bibles&q=christ&t=niv&c=all - you can change translations if you would like) and notice how many times you find in the New Testament "Jesus Christ" without "Lord" attached to the front of it. Your argument has no bearing.

  30. How much older are you then this woman? I agree 23 is young but I"m wondering how old you are and how do you know how this other woman feels if you don't talk to her. I just want to let you know that my husband was 21 years older then I was. I was 30 he was 51. We had 25 wonderful year together. I see no problem with an age difference. Be man enough to talk to this girl and see what she is thinking. Don't let someone else do it for you. Blessings, RustyAngeL

  32. Oh when I read threads like these, I cringe as I can see how humans with a failed nature can be. For sure unless you are married to a committed christian husband, you will have problems with this issue. And even some christian husbands can fall . These issues need to be addressed before marriage and also to get to know your husband well enough to know that he is fully committed to a life long commitment with you and only you and the family you have made together. If its not your sister it will be someone else. And as for your sister, you can politely say in a christian spirit, what is on your mind but also from hence onwards keep a distance from her. Your husband seems to be reacting like a typical male. But it is also wise not to invite problems into your life, unnecessarily. That is why distancing yourself from your sister is probably the best solution. I would not show insecurities towards your husband about this issue, but I would distance any woman who you sense is trying to interfere with your marriage. In private, I would ask husband if he is truly committed to his marriage with you and explain to you how he feels about his life with you also pray to God that your husband draw nearer to the Lord. When your instincts are trying to warn you of something, listen to the warning and bring God into the picture and pray for discernment in how best to handle the situation.

  33. Getting back to "Anti-Semitism", Christians should be aware that this accusation is frequently used to suppress any attempt at understanding or exposing the Satanic conspiracy fostered by a handful of atheistic, internationalistic Jews at the top (for the last 400 years or so) to further the Illuminati agenda (destroy legitimate governments, nations, private property, and religion). Today George Soros, a Hungarian Jew, is at the forefront of subverting nations with his billions, and working towards a Super-State (using the United Nations as his tool). He has said that he thinks of himself as "a god". This is a preview of the Antichrist (who must of necessity be a Jew), who will literally claim to be God. There are others, such as the Rothschilds, etc. who are all in the same conspiracy. Most people are not aware that the Bolshevik Revolution was funded by these same conspirators, and in fact the majority of those who were part of that revolution were Russian Jews.

  34. And that is not what was being addressed. Where is the word "Lord"? Jesus is now the Lord Jesus Christ, and it is by believing on the LORD Jesus Christ that sinners are saved (Acts 16:31). Do you understand the significance? When the Lord Jesus Christ returns to earth, He does NOT return as the Jewish Messiah but as KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS (Rev. 19:16). So once again you are not following Scripture. While He will also come as the Deliverer of the Jews, His Kingdom will be a universal kingdom on earth (Dan 7:13,14). What is not being recognized or stated is that at present Messianic Jews are sinning against the Savior by isolating themselves into Jewish congregations, and also reverting back to Moses (Torah observance). The Church of Christ does not allow for such segregation.

  37. The word 'God' inserted by modern translators. Here is KJV: 2 Peter 3: 15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; People don't receive Jesus and His words, instead they want to receive Paul who came up with his own title of apostleship because his epistles help in fabricating convenient concepts.

  42. I thought that might be your perspective on things. I disagree that Jesus ever stopped being the "Jewish Messiah." In fact, there are two Messianic roles Messiah fulfills - one as "the Suffering Servant" and one as "the Conquering King." So far, Jesus has fulfilled only one of those roles. The second is yet to come. Since the prophecies concerning Messiah are not yet fulfilled, how could Jesus no longer be Messiah? Second, since when did Jesus only have one title? And by the way, "Christ" and "Messiah" are the exact same word - as Cristos is the Greek translation of Maschiach. While the Sinai Covenant was brought to an end with the death and resurrection of Jesus, the Abrahamic Covenant was not. That one is "an everlasting covenant." Paul did not turn away from the Jews altogether. He turned away from the Jews in Corinth, but after he left Corinth, "They arrived at Ephesus, where Paul left Priscilla and Aquila. He himself went into the synagogue and reasoned with the Jews." (Acts 18:19). If Paul rejected the Jews altogether, why did he still go to a synagogue?

  47. No one can really tell you if sharing your feelings with someone is right or wrong. There certainly no sin in telling another how we feel about them. However acting on those feelings may not be the right move for us that has to be between you and God. There is no need to be confused about these feelings as you said the answer to your question in your last line of your OP when you said, "I know I must trust fully in God alone". Putting your trust in God is the right move and he is faithful to guide your footsteps in the matter.

  48. Just enter www.mjaa.org and then search internally. What they are saying basically is because of past Anti-Semitism, they must now isolate themselves. However, Scripture does not give them this excuse. Well this is the core of the issue. Following His rejection by Israel and following His crucifixion and ascension, the Lord Jesus Christ moved from "Jewish Messiah" to "Savior of the world" (Acts 1:8). Eventually even Paul turned away from the Jews altogether because of their own wilful blindness (Acts 28:28). Since He was REJECTED as the Jewish Messiah, there is no going back to that position. He is now the Lord Jesus Christ, not Yeshua ha Maschiach (notice that the word "Lord" -- which is extremely significant -- is missing). Also, the wall of separation between Jew and Gentile was torn down at the Cross, and the New Covenant replaced the Old Covenant. The epistle to the Hebrews is there to teach Jewish Christians that there is no going back to Moses.

  49. Since the link doesn't work, I am unable to read the context of this. It could very well be a reaction to so many Gentile Christians who over the centuries demanded that Jews give up their Jewishness in order to follow Jesus. Are you against Jews worshiping the God of their fathers and Messiah Yeshua in the fashion of their Jewish heritage? I attended a few Messianic congregations where they did sing and pray in Hebrew, but the English translations were written with the phonetically-written Hebrew words so that non-Hebrew speakers could join in. To me it was no different than singing the praise and worship songs sung in Hebrew.
