  1. The Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry. 2 Timothy 4:2-4 ( New International Version) LORD My God “When you pray, don’t be like the hypocrites who love to pray publicly on street corners and in the synagogues where everyone can see them. I tell you the truth, that is all the reward they will ever get. But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you. “When you pray, don’t babble on and on as people of other religions do. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again. Don’t be like them, for your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him! Pray like this: Matthew 6:5-9 (New Living Translation) Speaks HIS "Model" Believer's Prayer Now Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples.” And he said to them, “When you pray, say: “Father, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins, for we ourselves forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation.” Luke 11:1-4 ( English Standard Version) ~ Amen~! How Dare A Daughter Of The KING ‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out My Spirit on all people; your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Even on My servants, both men and women, I will pour out My Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy. Acts 2:17-18 (Berean Study Bible) Pray The Words Of Christ So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. Romans 10:17 (New American Standard Bible) In Public Whatever you ask in My name, I will do it so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. John 14:13 (Holman Christian Standard Bible) Be Blessed Beloved Of The KING The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them. Numbers 6:24-27 (King James Bible) Love, Your Brother Joe ~ Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever. Psalms 119:160 (King James Bible) The Bible contains the mind of God, the state of man, the way of salvation, the doom of sinners, and the happiness of believers. Its doctrines are holy, its precepts are binding, its histories are true, and its decisions are immutable. Read it to be wise, believe it to be safe, and practice it to be holy. It contains light to direct you, food to support you, and comfort to cheer you. It is the traveler’s map, the pilgrim’s staff, the pilot’s compass, the soldier’s sword and the Christian’s charter. Here too, Heaven is opened and the gates of Hell disclosed. Christ is its grand subject, our good its design, and the glory of God its end. It should fill the memory, rule the heart and guide the feet. Read it slowly, frequently and prayerfully. It is a mine of wealth, a paradise of glory, and a river of pleasure. It is given you in life, will be opened at the judgment, and be remembered forever. It involves the highest responsibility, rewards the greatest labor, and will condemn all who trifle with its sacred contents. From The Inside Of My Gideon New Testament

  2. Just a test. In this case, I used Open Office Writer (a free program) to compose, and then copy/paste, into Worthy Forums. I told it to create an html file, then copied the text from that after writing it. Color size bold italic underscore highlighted subtext supertext As you can see, you can play a lot. I do not suggest choosing from the list of fonts though. I might look o.k. on your screen, but not the the worthy system text or the reader's screen. Left Center Right If this works, you can see it gives a lot of control to the appearance of your posts. It is easy to use, and does not log you out in the middle or your composing It gives you a chance, to proof-read, even to save, and come back in ten or twenty minutes after you have cooled off, and look at it with fresh eyes So, this may be one way to slightly improve your post quality. May become obsolete, if the standard Worthy Editor is later improved. For now, type it out, perfect it, copy and paste it when ready. Omegaman 3.0 Postscript: You can do tables also this way! Verse NASB KJV John 1:1-5 1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was in the beginning with God. 3All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. 4In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. 5The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. 1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2The same was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Another postscript: I suppose that it would have been helpful to tell people where to get that program. Not always a good practice to post links offsite. However, as I said, the name of the program is Open Office, you could look it up, but there is a posibility, that there are similar programs, similarly names programs, and even people trying to sucker you in to some site that is not the right one. Always use caution and due diligence, before trusting sites, links, or following recommendations of others. Even Worthy gets people who do not have your best interest at heart. Beware of wolves in sheep's clothing. The official website is called openoffice.org , and this product has been around a long long time.

  3. As a civil matter no, instead interment sites should be maintained not disturbed. That is the whole purpose of Memorial Parks ( Cemeteries) with their endowment care funds. Memorial Parks (Cemeteries) are about the only green space that is protected as such in cities across the USA. Also the history of peoples are told in the cemeteries they establish. Forest Lawn Memorial Park being the first USA example of the modern day memorial park devoid of upright monuments and headstone markers other than flat bronze or granite memorials, all to keep a park effect rather than a marble orchard look. The first duty of a Jewish Congregation is to establish a separate place for burial of the dead. History is found at burial sites, in inscriptions and even in the organization of the dead, often by ethnic or religious clans. There is dedication too, the famous and solemn monument to the unknwn fallen warriors at Washington d.c. as example; and all the national cemeteries across this land. All tell of a caring people and are a measure of the mercies of it's occupants. So no they should not be disturbed, they should be maintained. History is very important, and cemeteries are history, evidence of a people. As to resurrection, the first resurrection ( How many resurrections will there be?): That is a very different subject. If we are to believe the physical dead body that is cremated and scattered, or the body that is embalmed and buried or entombed, rises again, we are all going to be a rather bizarre sight. One making the silly zombie movies seem like cartoon shadows of the real thing to come as resurrected bodies. So what is resurrected? What are we told within scripture? Of what we are told, just what is literal and what is more symbolic in nature? Is there even a resurrection of the saints bodies of any kind? I sure hope this tired old body of mine that will be cremated and scattered is not what I will have to drag around for eternity- that seems a rather cruel thing for my awesome creator to do in love to me. Personally, I buy into the idea of the comparison of planting seed, the seed is not what arises. Similarly but not exactly we are sown, sown as corruption, corrupted bodies, and we are to be risen, not as the firstborn but as one of many, incorruptible, a new spirit body not of the flesh at all. Our spiritual body will not even have the same functional purposes as our physical body does today. All the saints in Christ Jesus have been known to God from before the beginning, and those that He knew He also predestined. God is not a trickster, He is just, righteous and merciful. He will not have His own to suffer over where their physical flesh was laid down nor how it was "conditioned". In that sense it is not seen by me as being particularly important whether a body is disturbed or not. That is not to say that there should be no care over the dead by the living, for as a lesson God has established in certain cultures a rather specific guideline of how to care for the dead and who is to do that caring. Perhaps to make all of us aware of how He has valued his creation. We too are likely not callous to death itself, and so we do memorize the fallen, we do give thanks to God for the knowledge of others that we have grown to love and yet are gone from us for a time, and gone from the flesh forever. In summary I praise my creator, for all things, even this corrupted physical body, for God makes no mistakes. He created me He uses my flawed body to make me aware of Him and His Glory, that HE can take what is fallen from grace and restore it through His Son's sacrifice that I may have eternal life, shedding this corrupted shell, and then being eternally with Him. Praise God He is the awesome power that has made all things, all things, and He loves His own and protects them eternally. In that I am personally secure for eternity to come, as it has been known to Him from before time itself. "It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body." "For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven." "Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years."

  6. Are Christians not allowed to express their Christianity just because they are government officials? Whatever happened to "Congress shall make no law ... prohibiting the free exercise thereof [religion]; or abridging the freedom of speech,"? I never said it was. You miss the point. Do you actually want to live in a nation that is ruled by the atheist decree? No God allowed? If that is what the Founding Fathers wanted, then why did they open their sessions with prayer? And you never answered my question: You said: "it's likely she was using The Lord's Prayer for political points. ..." And I asked: "Why do you believe this was the intention of her heart?" I challenge you - Prove it! Where is your proof for your condemnation of her?

  7. It is wonderful to see the First Lady open the event with the Lord's Prayer (Matthew 6)...just wonderful...we need more of this type of worship of God in prayer by our politicians no matter what their partisan politics are, and especially at the top...

  8. The trouble is one side of the political spectrum has been fighting against Jesus. So unless you actually want to live in a nation that is ruled by the atheist decree . . . .

  9. The bible basically lays out specific contexts and procedures for accusing the brethren. Doing so without evidence is not a line i would cross personally. It's really not about being right or wrong, it's about the fact that we are so polarized that we just numbly assume any person doing anything that may not actually have a nefarious motive, has a nefarious motive. We are supposed to treat people as individual people and situations as individual cases, not just make raw assumptions based on expectations.

  10. It wasn't a campaign rally though. It was just basically a speech given to supporters. He won't be campaigning for years, in the traditional sense. Also, I don't find that to be "likely." That's an assumption with no evidence. Perhaps she thought it would be good to pray for the simple reason that prayer is a good thing. I see no reason to ascribe motive to anything. Trump did not run a rigorously religious campaign that had a big focus on Jesus. He got the evangelical vote mostly with promising supreme court pics, not by praying his way through campaign rallies across the country. She mostly stayed home with their son while he was out doing rallies, so there's not much in the way of previous experience with her being at events like this. I see no reason to impeach this woman's motives with absolutely no evidence, particularly being as she professes to be a follower of Christ. We are supposed to have more evidence than simple inferences to make such a claim as this.

  11. Yes, but there's no proof that's what she was doing, that is an inference. There is no reason to believe that she was doing that. Without evidence that she was doing it for that reason, I see no reason to take offense. A Christian is a Christians when at bible studies or church meetings or prayer meetings or at political rallies or at the grocery store.

  12. That's not what was going on here though, nor was I suggesting that. All that was going on here was a woman said a prayer. I see absolutely no reason to ascribe a nefarious or political motive to it, whether it was a campaign rally or not.

  13. Jesus' words are relevant to any believer at any time. Perhaps interjecting more Jesus into politics, particularly prayer, would not be such a bad thing, seeing the direction our country seems to be going.

  15. Is it really surprising the left hand path would attack the Lord's prayer? It speaks against everything that is corruptible and reiterates all that is righteous within the sovereignty of God.

  16. The minions fight any mention of God or Christianity. I'm sure it probably burns them like scalding water to hear these words. Anyone who would make fun of Mrs. Trump's accent or the prayer has outed themselves as what they are. And yes, if it was a muslim prayer to satan, the leftists would defend it to the death.

  17. Like you, I'm not surprised that the Left attacked her for it. I would be surprised if it didn't. My comment however was not directed to the Left, but to other Christians who may not see this the way I do. It was just an explanation of my point of view. Blessings, -Ed

  18. Good for her. I don't see how - as a Christian - I can criticize someone for quoting God's Holy Word. And to those Christians (and I'm sure there are some) who see it differently and are perhaps uncomfortable with the circumstance, who was quoting it, or some other issue - I would only remind them of this: Isaiah 55:11 - so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. or this: Matthew 10:34 - Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. Blessings, -Ed

  19. Lizam, You have our sympathies as you may have already noted. Scripture does not totally forbid you to leave your husband (if the situation is unbearable), but it would be in the manner of a permanent separation. This means that you could NOT remarry, since you would still be considered by God to be married. Please note carefully (1 Corinthians 7:10,11): And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband: But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife. Also, please keep in mind that these instructions are for genuine Christians, so the first thing to establish is whether you both are saved or not.

  20. Europeans are very easy going, we dont raise an eye just because someone have a different opinion or interpret differently, in christian respects as long the basics are covered, with all it means, we dont care. It surprises me how some cant let it just be agree to disagree but must convince, coerce and gets very angry or upset if they dont give them right AND take on their stance. God is not force.

  22. I will admit I have judged when it appears someone wants to look religious as a ploy. I doubt either of the Trumps would think a prayer would be viewed positively in the current climate we have in the U.S. I choose to hope that God is working in both Trump's hearts, and it is a sincere desire to have God's hand in their lives. I am also full of joy that the leader of the country shows respect to the one true God. I pray both the Trumps accept the gift of life from the finished work on the cross, if they have not already, and that their lives will bring glory to God. And may I have hope in God, that I will ever remember no one is too far, nor is God's arm too short, nor shall we hide our faith,

  23. Not everyone views the Lord's Prayer as a mere model. Why should a person refuse to pray just because of the event/location? Fine you want to keep faith silent at something political, even though it is "partisan," then that is your prerogative. Bye.

  25. All I can say is that if for some bizzaro reason I was on stage at a political rally of any kind, and I led a prayer or spoke of my faith in any way, I would feel both grieved and angry at anyone who accused me of doing so for political gain or the like. Unless evidence can show that Melania's prayer was for ignoble reasons rather than from her heart out of love for God, I will regard the moment as I did when I first watched it, that an introverted woman stepped out of her shell and though nervous as she was prayed a prayer that would expressed her faith in God and brought unity to the participants there.

  28. Yes we are. But as we judge others, so shall we be judged. Would you speak your words of judgment against Melania to her face? Would you tell her to her face that you think she is a phony playing politics? Not everyone expresses their faith in the same way. And really, this was a big step for Melania. Not that I've been a follower of her, but since Donald had run for president, there was no indications from Melania as to where she stood on the matter of faith. Even with all the buzz about where Donald may or may not have been on the issue, there was not buzz on her status. When she opened the rally with, "Let us pray," and then recited a prayer that people could - and did! - pray along with, I felt a sweetness of glee and hope. I'm sorry you felt bitter about it.

  33. Human knowledge, apart from God, is flawed. The Bible also refers to it as worthless because it isn’t tempered by love (1 Corinthians 13:2). The knowledge man possesses tends to make one proud. “Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up” (1 Corinthians 8:1). Therefore, the pursuit of knowledge for its own sake, without seeking God, is foolishness. “Then I applied myself to the understanding of wisdom . . . but I learned that this, too, is a chasing after the wind. For with much wisdom comes much sorrow; the more knowledge, the more grief” (Ecclesiastes 1:17-18). Worldly knowledge is a false knowledge which is opposed to the truth, and Paul urges us to “Turn away from godless chatter and the opposing ideas of what is falsely called knowledge, which some have professed and in so doing have wandered from the faith” (1 Timothy 6:20-21). Human knowledge is opposed to God’s knowledge and therefore is no knowledge at all; rather, it is foolishness. https://www.gotquestions.org/Bible-knowledge.html

  36. What I've read about Melania - she's an introvert. She hasn't exactly been putting herself "out there." Seriously, other than the Convention, when else has she spoken in front of a crowd? If anything, she was probably very nervous taking such a bold step. Based on how she was sounding, I'm pretty sure she had a ton of butterflies fluttering in her stomach at the time. But people like you have to assign the worst motive for her based on... As if Melania has spent her life in politics like all those others!

  37. God gave that prayer to us as a way of showing homage to him. You continue to remark that since a news article have deemed an event is something that the person having that a totally separate individual is taking it that way. The lords pray is not owned by anyone person or group. It is used by they who uses it and God alone knows the heart of that person.
    1 point
  38. It sounds to me like you are saying that if a politician says a prayer it is for no other reason than for political gain; therefore, politicians should never pray in public or at least at a political event. Is this what you are saying? Politicians are forbidden to pray before the public? But it's not OK for the First Lady to open a presidential rally with prayer? What if Melania truly wanted to recognize God? My problem is that you are judging the motives of her heart without evidence. You are assuming the worst of her based on what previous words or actions from her?

  39. Casting darkness on someone that is reciting the Lords Prayer before a political meeting seems to suggest that it is not being used to honor God, but to honor President Trump. Does anyone know what, if any faith Melania Trump? I know that President Trump is a bit of a showman, but what do we know of his wife? I don't really care about the continual effort to condemn everything President Trump does, but the idea that a completely different person might be so nefarious as to use God's prayer as a political stunt is casting false witness against another person.
